Week 2 of the college football season brings you some interesting early matchups, as the TV overlords enjoy getting additional eyeballs in those breakfast hours. Two of these matchups involve SEC teams:
Arizona State at Texas A&M – 11am, ABC
This game is somewhat similar to Alabama at Kentucky this week, in that nobody really knows if the underdog is for real. Arizona State QB Cutter Boley, a spectacular name by the way, lit up FCS Morgan State en route to a 70-7 victory. Meanwhile, Texas A&M easily dispatched Missouri State by a 50-0 score behind a solid showing from QB Marcel Reed. The Aggies have the lofty preseason ranking and blue chip ratio, and are playing at home.
Oklahoma at Michigan – 11am, FOX
This one lost a bit of its luster when Michigan barely survived, and that’s being generous, Western Michigan. Most people are assuming that Brent Venables and company take care of business against an offense that struggled terribly in week 1. Does Oklahoma have what it takes? We’re about to find out.
