Now let's go live to courtside. Here's the voice of the Falcons, Kevin Johnson. And good evening on this February 3rd of 2026. The Florence Falcons have their home finale tonight at home at the Coffee Gym before a large crowd on senior night as they take on the Blue Devils of Sullivan High School, which should be a good matchup. Kevin Johnson joined now by my color analyst, Mike Albertson. And Mike, senior night, it still gives you chill bumps, doesn't it? It certainly does. Every time, you know, you just think back to all the hard work and energy and effort that these players have dedicated their lives to. You know, a lot of these players have played, you know, basketball all throughout when they're a little. And this is kind of the culmination of that. Not every player gets to play on to the next level. However, you know, just watching them do what they love to do and hone their craft on their night where they're going to be honored with their families, it's always a special event. I've done this for many years, and I still get choked up a little bit every time I see a senior night, in basketball especially. We're joined now by the head coach of the Florence Falcons, Coach Dylan Burleson. And Coach, tonight, senior night, there's a couple of those guys there that have been with you from the very start of you coming in. Pretty special night. It's a really special night. You know, we've got three guys that we've just recognized and honored and, of course, a manager also that have been with us since we've come in. It's all about relationships. And, you know, we love to win. We hate to lose. But the relationships, that's what we're going to remember when they leave, and that's what we're going to continue to help improve. It's the final week of the regular season. You're a tournament team. That's what you're looking for. What do you want to see out of your team tonight and even Thursday night when you go on the road? I think every possession matters, and I want us to start well, and I want us to keep the intensity that we've talked about and continue to hone in on it. Plus, cut down on live ball turnovers. I thought we did a decent job of that on Friday night against Muscle Shoals. Not so much on Saturday, but, like, every possession matters. Minimize turnovers, value the basketball, and let's guard our yard. We've got to be able to guard the ball. What's it mean to have a crowd like this on a Tuesday night, senior night, senior night, to have such a crowd? That's pretty impressive. It really is. I mean, for it to be a Tuesday night and the weather is not ideal outside, for our students to show up and for our fans to be here, I mean, really, we have a good crowd tonight on senior night here at Coffee Gymnasium. Appreciate all of our fans here and everybody that's listening in. Coach, best of luck tonight, okay? Appreciate it. The head coach of the Florence Falcons, Coach Dylan Burleson. It's Florence Falcons basketball. Kevin Johnson, Mike Alberson with Eli from the Coffee Gym on a chilly night as the Falcons welcome in the Blue Devils of Sulligent High School. I don't think it's the first time these two teams have met. I think we've played them actually before. Sulligent and they're willing to play up. And to them, it's a big deal for a school that's a smaller school to play a 7-8 school, Mike. You can tell they brought a nice crowd here, but they're excited just to be here. Absolutely. Anytime that you can play a good team and really compete, get yourself out on the court with that team, it is special. And these players remember who they played. You go up and down the list. You have your normal teams that you play along the way, but you remember those big games and those big opponents. Can you imagine if you're Sulligent at the beginning of the season and your coach says, okay, here's who we're playing, here's who's in our region, here's who we're playing. And by the way, at the end of the year, in the last week, guys, we're going to play the defending runner-up of the 7-8 state championship, the Florence Falcons, at their place. Can you imagine with those kids when they heard they're getting to go play that team? That's a big deal. We're talking about that. So, that's what's so impressive. I love it. And I love that Dylan Burleson, who coached at Haleville, understands what it's like to take your team to play a bigger school. He gets that. He said, hey, this is a good opportunity for them. But it's also good for Florence. Why is that? You know, going into the area tournament, you know, you really want to get yourself situated, really iron out some of the miscues and things like that. It really opens things up. You get a lot of guys rotating in, getting some good playing time, and get some guys in rhythm, you know, being able to run your rotations and things like that. You know, and almost play this as a pseudo playoff game right off the bat, being able to rotate your things in and really work on some stuff. And as the dry run before you hit those big-time games, you know, Coach Burleson knows what he's doing. And when he put this schedule together, it was very strategic, and he did a great job. Javion Lewis, a senior, 6'3", wears number 22, Cooper Fulmer, 5'10", senior. Those guys have been with the Falcons basketball for a while now, playing with Dylan Burleson. And they are tremendous. They come off the bench, and they give great minutes, and they are as much an important part as anyone. But I want to highlight the point guard, J. Shot Pearson, 5'9", senior. Mike, he's played tonight, I think will be his 90th game, 90th game at Florence. He has started 88 of them. The only two he didn't start were the senior night last year for all the seniors and the senior night his sophomore season. He finally gets to start on senior night, and when he walked out, this crowd gave him a great applause. Absolutely. You know, what he's given to this program, you know, for all four years, always being the smallest guy on the court, competing with the heart of the line. I mean, the kid is a competitor. He really lays it all out there, and he's been with this team for quite some time. He probably has about as many games in a Florence uniform as any player that's ever played, you know. Yeah. And that's something to be said there. And we won't spoil it, but we'll say at halftime, there's a big announcement we're going to have at halftime, and it's going to be concerning that young man. So stick around at halftime. And we look forward to that one tonight as well. The officials coming by, giving us fist bumps. Teams warming up. Big crowd on hand. Basketball's all around. All the assistant coaches have gone Dylan Burleson style tonight. Sports coats and dressed up in suit-like attire. I didn't recognize a few of these guys, Mike. I definitely didn't either. They definitely clean up well. As good of a looking coach or coaching staff as you could ever put together, for sure. We didn't get the memo. I'm here basically sweatpants. We did not get the memo. They didn't tell us. I don't know if anybody watched the stadium series for hockey at Tampa Bay, but the coaching staff paid homage to the Cuban-Americans. They came dressed in the suits and the hats and everything else. I don't think this coaching staff of Florence quite went with the hats, but they've cleaned up pretty well tonight. It should be a lot of fun. And, you know, it's a great night for a senior night. And I'm looking forward to what's going to happen. The Lady Falcons just won their game. They were honored with their seniors as well. And then also the cheerleaders for Florence High School. And don't forget, one guy we don't mention, Mike, Zach Morris, the manager for Florence, he has been with this Falcon team. He is such a special part of this program. He certainly is. You know, they announced when they announced him, you know, he got a beautiful ovation, but also that he's been team manager now for six years. And so to be able to dedicate that time since he was in middle school all the way through high school. I mean, he loves basketball and he's been as big a part of this as anybody. So, you know, congrats to Zach and the rest of the seniors. Yeah, absolutely. Congratulations to all of them. Florence will be on the road to Mississippi to take them Boonville Thursday night. We won't be able to travel with them on that one. And we're just glad they're getting that game in. The folks in Mississippi have had such damage from the ice storm. Did not know if that was going to happen. But coaches said, yeah, we can get you in here and get you out. So they're excited to have a home game. They want to have their senior night there. So Florence will play at Boonville. And that's a great team over there, by the way, as well. And then next week, a week from Thursday, Florence will be on the road at James Clemens to take on the Jets in the area tournament. As the Jets will be their host-type number one seed. And Florence will try to pull the big upset over on the road. But first things first, the Blue Devils of Sulligent have come to town. And Florence is getting ready to tangle with them. Again, I want to say a big thank you, too, to the coaching staff here, but also the administration and all the folks that work here at Florence High School to put games on, from clock operator to game time managers, PA announcers, everybody involved, our statisticians around, our bookkeeper here is actually Coach Dylan Burleson's wife, Sydney, who does an excellent job. She was a great basketball player in her day as well. So they always are helping us out. We appreciate them doing that. And we appreciate them going above and beyond always to help us help bring you Florence Falcon Basketball here on 93.9 The Score. When we come back, starting lineups of tonight's matchup between Florence and Sulligent. You're listening to Florence Falcon Basketball, the TNT Fireworks pregame show, back in three minutes. Back here on the TNT fireworks pregame show, coming to a close, starting lineups for both teams now being introduced. Sullige at first on the road wearing the blue, very similar to Florence's blue, by the way. They will be wearing all blue, trimmed in white. Will Dobbins will get the start. He's the post player. He'll be joined by Will Barnett, who is the guard. John Will Spruill will get the start. He wears number 12, as I said, Spruill does. Sage Coleman will be the starting for the Blue Devils. And Tyler Tucker will get the start for the Blue Devils. And now the starting lineup for the Florence Falcons. About to be introduced here courtside. Should be a good one tonight. Bart's wearing the home white, trimmed in blue. Number two, three, Sean Pearson. All the seniors will get the start. Jayshod Pearson wears number two for the 90th time he puts this uniform on as a Florence Falcon. Cooper Fulmer will get the start. He wears number five. 5'10", senior. Javion Lewis, a 6'3", senior. Where's number 22? We'll play the post. The three seniors will get the start tonight. Taylin Jones, the junior. 6'3", will get the start for the Falcons. And number one, Jayshod Payne, 5'10", junior. We'll get the start. So it'll be Payne, Jones, Pearson. Also we'll have in there Cooper Fulmer and Javion Lewis. Falcons will be going right to left. The Blue Devils left to right. Big crowd on hand. I'll give the Blue Devils a sulligent credit. They have the most colorful shoes I've seen of any team this year. From pink and orange and white and black, they are everywhere. Lewis will jump center against Dobbins. It's time for the final regular season game of the 25-26 season for Florence Falcons. And the tip is controlled by the Blue Devils of sulligent. They'll bring it up the floor. The Falcons will man-to-man as Tucker will run the point. Goes left wing and Pearson picks the pocket. How many times have I said that? Lay up on the other end is good. What a start, Mike. You wouldn't expect anything less. You know, Jayshod caught the guard looking elsewhere. Picked his pocket. Took it all the way to the house. So, off the glass and then beautiful job. Tucker picked up by Lewis on the right wing. Will try the three and bank it in. The bank is open late here tonight. Tucker hits the three. A turnover by Florence. They travel on the other end. So, sulligent leads it three to two. With 7.23 to go here in the first just underway. Kevin Johnson, Mike Albertson on the call before a huge crowd here tonight at the coffee gym. Florence will pick up full court. Inbounds pass comes. Dobbins has it. Kicks it back out now to Spruill. Spruill, right wing. Ball knocked away and retrieved by the scorekeeper, Sydney Burleson, the best hands of the family. She'll take that one there. It'll still be sulligent's ball. Tucker up top, guarded by Fulmer. Tucker at the free throw line. Can't get the shot off. Great defense by Fulmer. In trouble. Can't get rid of it. Finally does. All the way up top to Coleman. Coleman, left wing. Into the paint. Floater on the way. Won't go. Rebound put up. No good. Rebound fought for. Out of bounds. And last touch by sulligent as Tate Jones was athletic right there. Yeah, it was a great job by Tate. As he was approaching the baseline, he grabbed that rebound and threw it off the opposing player to get the Falcon possession. Falcons throw it inside, but went right between the wickets of Payne and taken away by the Blue Devils. Dobbins. Crossed half-court strike. Tyler Tucker has it. Spins in the lane and a foul called on Payne. That's the right call. He got caught on the spin move there. It was a bit of a hand check slash hold there as he was spinning toward the basket. Easy call for the official. Inbounds pass comes to Tucker in the corner. Tucker can't get the shot off there. Pulls up from 15, though, and missed it. No good. Rebound taken down by Florence's Payne. Payne to Pearson. Down the left side. Survey's traffic. Got it to Jones on the baseline. Lost out of bounds. Last touch by sulligent. It'll stay with the Falcons, who trail it 3-2 with 6.23 to go. Falcons in the home white with Falcons scripted across the jerseys. Lob it up top to Payne. Payne, free throw line. Nope. Kick to Pearson. In the corner, Fulmer. Three ball on the way. Oh, it wouldn't fall. Rebound taken down by Tucker. Tucker picked up by Pearson in the backcourt. Tucker across the midcourt stripe with a behind-the-back dribble. Goes to the right side. Recessed it with Barnett. Sulligent trying to take care of the basketball against the swarming defense of Florence. Coleman into the lane. Floater off the glass. Wouldn't go. Rebound on the floor. Taken by Fulmer of Florence. Payne comes down to the right sideline with it. Across the midcourt stripe with four. Blue Devils back. Pulls up anyway. Too strong. No good. Rebound taken by Sulligent. Tucker. 3-2. We've been stuck on this score for about a minute and a half now. Coleman across the stripe. Gets it. Payne picks him up. Coleman on the left wing now. Looking up top to Tucker. He'll try the three again. He banked one in earlier. That one won't go. Rebound taken by Jones. Jones gets rid of it. Payne to Fulmer. Baseline. Fulmer goes up. Blocked behind. Got it back. Fulmer goes up a second time and put it in. The senior on senior night gives the Falcons a 4-3 lead. Ball nearly stolen by Fulmer. Retrieve. Dobbins still in backcourt. Gets it back to Coleman. Coleman across the midcourt stripe. Coleman. Left wing. Goes baseline. Floater up. Got it off the glass. Coleman finding a little work there. In seesaw fair. Celgiant Blue Devils lead at 5-4. Pearson. Back out to Payne. Three on the way. Back rim would not fall. And Celgiant will get the rebound. And a foul on Lewis over the back. Good job of boxing out by Celgiant there. Lewis will pick up the foul. Number 22 will get the foul. And now some of the seniors will come out as Florence will bring in their usual starting lineup. Skipworth, Irons, and Green will come into the game. At the 4-38 mark. 5-4. Florence trails by one. Celgiant inbounds to Dobbins. Florence really not pressuring. Just picking up full court, Mike. Yeah, they're picking up. They're looking for some favorable matchups there and seeing if they can cause a turnover. Tucker on the wing. Pulled up from 17. That one rolls in. Nice little look. He's got five of the nine or seven. A 7-4 lead. And turnover to Florence. Florence a little fast right now. Wouldn't that be a good way to put it? Fast in a rushing type way. There's not really a flow. But it feels like they're rushing things a little bit. And putting themselves in unnecessary pressure situations. Pass knocked away by Roy. It'll stay with Celgiant. Florence picks up full court. And the pressure picked up just a notch there as the temperature rises a little bit here. Looked to get inbounds. Nearly knocked away by Roy again. Stocked out of bounds. Foul called on Florence actually on Skipworth for a hole. Team's third. And that's something in the past few games, Florence has been called for a lot of fouls. They just said, play hard, but don't foul. But three early ones here in the first four minutes. Sproul across the midcourt strike for Celgiant to Tucker. Tucker lost his footing, but threw it away just in time to a teammate. And gets it back. Ball knocked away, and that's stolen by Green. Green down the right sideline. Green through the basket. Watch out. Oh, he went for the jam, and he got fouled. He had visions of sugar plums dancing in his head. But it wouldn't go down, but it'll go to the free throw line to shoot two. Yeah, you saw it right away. Green smell, blood in the water as he was approaching the basket. You saw him setting up for that dunk, and he got up there. And, oh, number one, Will Dobbins said, no, not so fast, my friend. So he hit him before he could get in. Kavante hits the first free throw. He didn't meet him up at the rim. I'll give him that. Second free throw by Green off the front rim. No good. Rebound taken by Dobbins of Celgiant to Tucker behind the back dribble. I like the Tucker kid. Got a little length on him. Can handle the basketball. Can shoot it fairly well. Hands it off to Sproul. Pulled up from 15. No good. Rebound by Irons. Quick outlet to Roy. Down to Green again. Green into the basket. Put it up. Strong move. He's fouled again. He'll go to the line and shoot two. That was a nice nifty move there by Green on the baseline. Did a little shuffle step into the lane. Winded up creating that contact, putting it up off the glass. It couldn't fall. So, he's going to shoot two here, but he definitely drew the foul. Free throws. Green. That one wouldn't fall. Down 7-5 here with 328 to go in the first. The Falcons on senior night. Second one. Second one. Wouldn't roll out. It rolled out. Rebound taken by the team in blue from down south. Named Sullivan. The Blue Devils here on the road. Have a quick 7-5 lead. Near still. Sproul got it back. Pulls up from 15 at the elbow and knocked it down. Actually, that's Coleman. Excuse me. And Sullivan has a 9-5 lead. Irons spins beautifully. To the basket. Finger rolls. Good. Jaden Irons with a beautiful move there in the full court press. That was a great move there by Irons. Nice little spin move. Nobody was expecting it. But then to have the touch on the back end to hit that little teardrop. Coleman nearly lost it there. Good defense. Could be a 10-second call ball. Bouncing around. Taken down by Skipworth. Skipworth to the basket with the left hand. Put it up. Roll it in. Just like that. Florence bounces back. Ties it up at 9. 2.40 to go. Time out on the floor. This is Falcon Basketball. We're back in 30. Hi. I'm Dr. Brady Citizen with Treehouse Children's Dentistry. We're so excited to see you soon at Treehouse Children's Dentistry, a branch of Singing River Dentistry. 2.40 to go in the first. Florence and Tuscumbia tied at 9. It's the Falcons on senior night. Just getting things rolling a little bit. Full court pressure. Dobbins has it in the backcourt. Gets it to Tucker across the midcourt stripe. The double comes and nearly stolen away and it's knocked away off of Tuscumbia to go back to Florence. Our halftime guest, by the way, will be Kenny Marson, the head football coach of the Florence Falcons. He's got a little announcement for us, which is nice. We'll talk to him about the new alignment of football and things like that. And he'll have a nice little announcement for everybody. Roy. Roy, I'm sorry. At halftime. Roy's jumper would not go. Rebound taken by Sullivan. Coleman will bring it up to the floor. Always good to get our football coach on and let him talk about things going on. He's had a big week. Been to the convention down there. Ball and thrown away. And he'll go back to Florence. And now substitutions. Here comes Burnett. Here comes Jones. Here comes Payne. Pearson will come out. Skipworth will step out. And so will Green with 2.02 to go. Tied at 9. It'll stay with Sullivan, by the way. Florence tipped it out of bounds. Yeah, Irons with some good hands. Good active hands on defense getting in the passing lane. Knocked that one out of bounds. Big 3 from the corner by Tucker. No good. But the rebound caromed over the rim and went to a Sullivan player. And Blue Devils get another chance. Sullivan is a basketball school for many years. As Coleman's 2 goes up and in. He threw that one right over a Falcon player. He has 6. And Sullivan leads it by 2. 11 to 9. They've had a great basketball pedigree over the years. Girls and boys basketball. And there's a steal. Tucker with a run out. Tucker goes up and jams it with one hand. Well, he has 7. And that jam ignites the Sullivan fans. And Florence better wake up a little bit here in the first quarter. Down 13 to 9. Burnett. Back out to Payne. To Jones. Jones elbow. Got it out of irons. Burnett open for 3. Got it. So, Burnett's 3. Cuts it to 1. Ball knocked away. Saved out of bounds last touch by Florence. Roy couldn't get it. He has a long length. He does a good job of blocking it there. He does. He's the perfect guy to be there on that inbounds pass. He tips a ton of those passes. And as the ball kind of squirted away, he tried to save it along the baseline. But it just squirted out of bounds. Tough place to inbound it right in front of the Sullivan bench. Coleman trying to get in. Having trouble. Having trouble. Having trouble. Finally get in. They're going to get bailed out by a foul on Burnett. Burnett came around. He was playing the ball, but almost like a cornerback. He had that arm, that secondary arm kind of wrapped around the hip there. And it just pulled the Sullivan player ever so slightly. Fourth team foul in the quarter with 58 seconds to go. Sullivan leads it by one. We'll have the basketball. Tucker, mid-court. Lobbed it way over the head of everyone. Retrieved by Florence is Burnett as it was tipped away. Burnett will come up the floor. Left wing in the corner. Roy for three. Good look. That one won't go. Irons fighting for the rebound. Got it. And what's the call? I think they call a foul. It should be a foul on number one. Number one does not like that very much. He's lucky he didn't get teed up there. That was a lot of verbiage from the young man. Verbiage. That's a good word. I like that. That's a good way to put it. I've been training for my ACTs. Florence down by one. We'll have the basketball. Payne in the corner on the set play. Three. Wouldn't go. Tip up. No good. Rebound taken. Out of bounds. Saved by Florence. Whistle. And it's going to be Soldier Ball. Out of bounds right along the baseline there. Zyburnette did a great job there fighting for those rebounds, but just stepped out of bounds. Great pressure from Payne in the backcourt. Coleman in midcourt gets rid of it. Travel call. Turned up the pressure. Forced the turnover. Good defense by Florence. And Pearson would come in with 19 seconds to go. Yeah. That was a good job by Florence to really clamp down there. Stepped in front of the passing lane. The player hesitated. Easy walk. You know, call for the official. Pearson will play for the last shot against the 2-3 zone with 10. Goes to Payne on the wing. Back to Pearson. Pearson to Payne. Open. Three on the way. Short. No good. Rebound by Florence. Put up. No good. Tip up. No good. And that'll do it. And after one, Sullivan will lead Florence. 13-12. Falcon basketball back in 60. Florence Utilities now offers new bill pay options. We want to wish Coach Burleson and the entire Falcon basketball team good luck this season. One quarter in the book, so senior night for Florence, they trail Sullivan 13-12. Kevin Johnson, Mike Albertson. And, you know, Mike, it's hard. It's hard not to get up for certain games. You get up week after week and you finally play a team that's a smaller school. You can see this coming a little bit, but now Falcons have to be mature and wrap this up right here. Right, you know, they know now that Sullivan's here to play, and so, you know, just get back into your rhythm and play your game. They'll be fine. Payne splits the zone. Gets it back out to Pearson. Payne got it back. Split the zone again. Laid it up. No good. Rebound taken by the Blue Devils. A lot of contact on that play. Officials seem to be letting them play early on here. Tucker goes to the lane, had it stripped away. They're going to get Pearson and got him on the arm. Right in front of the officials. They're standing about two feet away and saw the best thing of anybody. So that'll be J-Shot's first. And they're going to say he was shooting or attempting to shoot. So two free throws coming for Tucker. Yeah, that was just an awkward play all around. A big, strange Euro step in the middle there, and just everything looked out of whack. Landon Metcalf will step in for the Blue Devils. As Tucker's first free throw is good. The second one on the way. He drinks both. He has nine to lead the Blue Devils, who lead the Falcons by three, 15 to 12. Burnett to Pearson. Back out to Burnett. He'll try to tie it up. Back rim, no good. Rebound taken by the Blue Devils. Dobbins goes about 6'4", maybe. And he's got a little length on him and size. Yeah, he's bigger than anyone we have. He's probably 6'6". Yeah, maybe he'll be pushing it for sure. Tucker, and that's an offensive foul called right here. Spruill moving the screen there. So, Florence will have the basketball. Skipworth will come in along with Irons and Green to join Pearson and Payne at the 707 mark. Blue Devils stay in that 2-3 zone. Green at the top to Skipworth. Bounce pass down on the post. Irons cross court pass to Pearson. Got it to the baseline. Kicked it back out. Good ball movement. Open for three is Skipworth. It won't fall. There's Green with it, but he couldn't get it to go. But he's fouled. And he'll shoot two. So, Green will go to the line to shoot two. Dobbins picks up his second foul. Kevante Green, the junior. Where's number 10? First free throw. Front rim. No legs on that free throw. It was all arms. If he found that rhythm. There you go. J.D. Smith will come into the game for Dobbins. A little bend of the leg there, and that one rolled in. Amazing, isn't it? Look at that. Hey, get a stop. Get a stop. Let's go. Lawrence trails by 2-15-13. Sulligent with the basketball. Tucker has it. Picked up a Skipworth. On the left wing, keeps his dribble alive. Skipworth staying with him. Going to be close. Finally broke the count. Deep three now on the way. That one's too strong. Missed everything. And it went out of bounds. Last touch by Sulligent. Spruill tried to save it. Could not. So, Florence will have it. Down by two. Early in the second quarter. And, you know, I like seeing this 2-3 zone. Sulligent work. It's working, but it also gives Florence a different look to look at. Pearson to Skipworth. Back to Pearson on the wing. Pearson in the corner for Payne. Payne baseline. Double team. Swings it to Pearson. Open for three. Wouldn't go, but there's Green for the tip in. Kevante soars in and gets it. Puts it in. Tied at 15. Florence pressed. Causing trouble. Pearson nearly got the steal, but it went out of bounds. Pearson jumped the route. Got his hands on the ball, but couldn't secure it and just tipped it out of bounds. That little Rod Green. Let's go, defense. Knocked out again by Skipworth. His athletic ability to jump and knock out of bounds is impressive. Skipworth and Roy both have that impressive wingspan where they're able to really cause a lot of havoc for the guy inbounding the ball. Metcalf will get it across the midcourt strike and throws it back court. Saved, they say, but threw away. Taken by Payne. Payne up the floor. Got it to Skipworth. Kicked it back to Payne. Drives. Kicked it out to Skipworth for three. Got it. Skipworth drinks the three and Florence has the lead. 18 to 15. Florence starting to turn the pressure up a little bit. Coleman will bring it up the floor. Goes coast to coast and is fouled on the way to the basket. Before the shot, though, will be on Payne. His second foul, I believe. Yeah, Payne was basically riding his side pocket the entire time. And they were pretty well hitting each other all the way down the court. Looking at inbound it. Looking. Having a little trouble now. Going to get it in the corner finally. Metcalf gets it. Got a trap there. And it's travel. Step back. Got a call for steps. Florence will bring Fulmer in along with Burnett and Jones. And you see that Dylan Burleson realizing death will be a factor in this. He's going to play a lot of players and try to wear down Sullivan. Yeah, we've seen this a couple times this year. Some of these smaller schools don't have the numbers that we have. So, we just play with reckless abandon and really work them hard. It's tough for these smaller schools. Fulmer in the corner to Burnett. Goes into the lane. Kicked it back out. Beautiful pass to Jones for three. Good. Jones drains the three. Vitae Jones gets the Falcons a six-point lead. Tucker will bring it up to the floor. Picked up by Fulmer. Fulmer makes it stay right. Goes behind the screen. Deep three behind the screen. No good. Rebound by Jones. Jones looking down the floor. Tried to throw it down to Burnett. Tough pass to catch. He was way too deep. And a travel on the other end. To stay with Florence. That relentless pursuit there by Skipworth. As the Seligen player picked the ball up. Really caused that travel there. Good job by the Falcons. And good job by Skipworth to adjust on the fly. Get to Fulmer in the corner. To Pearson. Who drives into the paint. Keeps the dribble alive. To Burnett. He's open for three. Puts the back rim. No good. Hit the guide wire to go back to Seligen. Florence leads it by 621-15. 433 to go. So you hear the coaching staff calling out a different press. Tipped away again by Skipworth. That's about the fifth deflection, Mike. It is. And, you know, if Florence is able to continue to do this, I mean, every inbound play is a play that they should really be pressuring. Tucker runs to the point, brings it up to the right side with Jones on him. Gets in. Kicks it to Metcalf. Metcalf will pull up from 15. No good. Rebound. Taken by Florence. Skipworth to Pearson. Watch for the lob. Pearson lobs it. And Burnett wasn't ready for it. It goes back to Seligen. Pearson had the right idea. I don't think so. Pearson thought. Burnett thought it was coming. Burnett did not think it was coming. And he adjusted a little bit too late. Ball sailed over. It's heading out of bounds. And that went up the floor. Yeah. That's one of those things. A senior working with a freshman there. A senior, senior. They're more on page. That's just a frequency issue there as far as reps are concerned. In the corner, Metcalf has it. Throws it away. Right back here. Nearly saved. Good hustle there by Coleman, but couldn't keep it in. It'll go back to Florence. We lead it 21-15. Florence inbound it in front of the Solgen bench here with 3.54 to go. Up by 6. 2-3 zone by Solgen. Pearson, top of the key. The former on the wing. In the corner to Jones. Back way up top at the Falcon logo to Burnett. Bounce pass left to Pearson. Pearson surveys traffic. Lobs it back up to Jones. Excuse me, Skipworth now. Got it to Pearson. Drives baseline. Keeps the dribble alive. Into the paint. Looking. Looking. Got to get rid of it. Does in the corner to Burnett. He's open for 3. That one won't go. Rebound. Tiff out of bounds. Last touch by Solgen. Falcons are unselfish. You can say that for sure. There's no doubt. They are always unselfish, I think, this season. They really are. And just being able to find a good shot. They do a really good job of that. Sometimes it's for three and those are lower percentage shots. But the Falcons generally do get a play that makes sense and a real good look at the basket. Double team knocks it away. Stolen away by Solgen. Stolen right back by Pearson. Got a look. Pearson goes up. He picks the pocket and lays it in. The Falcons have their largest lead at 8. Coleman in backcourt. Picked up by Burnett at the midcourt strike. 14 versus 14. That's an offensive foul. Coleman knew that. He's a built-up kid. We're talking about how strong he looks. Tried to use that strength there and he got an offensive foul. He got an offensive foul. But also, I mean, I would assume that he's a senior. I don't have his classification in front of me. However, he tapped on his head there. He knew he was getting frustrated. He wanted to come out there. So, that's just a heavy play by a player. Fulmer lost it and then turned around a foul, trying to get it back. The ball just slipped out of his hands. He tried to make a move baseline and, you know, just kind of left the ball behind him a little bit. Upon trying to recuperate that ball here, made a lot of contact. Solgen, backcourt. They get the ball to Tucker. Tucker will bring it up the floor. Goes left. Lost it from Fulmer. Fulmer tried to get the steal. Couldn't. Deep three on the way from the corner. Back rim. No good. Rebound tipped around on the floor. Solgen fight for it and get it back. Kick it back out to Tucker. He'll tie it one from the NBA range. No good. Rebound this time by Florence. Irons looks to get it to Pearson. Pearson surveys traffic. In the corner to Roy. In rhythm. Three. Short. No good. Rebound bounces around. Taken down by Solgen. No bringing up the floor. Wesley McDonnell gets the rebound. 204 mark. Florence still up by eight. Nearly stoned away by Fulmer. In there. It's great steal by Fulmer. And he was clipped from behind. He was making visions of going down and getting a basket. But the foul will be against Solgen. And Fulmer will have free throws. I think coming up. Is that the 15th foul? That is not. That's just the fourth. Okay. So it'll still be Florence's ball with 156 to go. Irons will inbound it to Pearson. Left wing to Fulmer. Swings it around. Pearson gets it back. Pearson bounce pass to Irons. Irons fought for it. Double team. Got it back door. Lay up. Putting it in. Beautiful back cut there by Roy. And Irons hit him with the bounce pass along the baseline. That was a beautiful setup there. 10-point lead for Florence after the Roy layup. Green picks up Tucker now. Tucker goes left. Runs the horn set with two guys up top. He'll try another three. He's not shy. Missed that one. Rebound taken by Roy. Roy looks. Pushes up to Pearson. Pearson into the paint. Lobbed to Green. Couldn't catch it. Saved inbounds by Irons. Tremendous athletic play by Irons. Pearson in the paint. Kicked it in the corner. Roy will try another three. That one in and out. Rolled around. Went and go. Rebound by Irons. Fulmer. Open. Three balls. Senior night. Why not? Cooper. Fulmer for three. And a steal by Roy. Tipped up. No good. Tipped again. No good. Finally taken down by Sullivan. Lawrence leaves it by 13 with under a minute to go in the first half. Tucker. It's like, oh no. Pearson's on me. He gets by him on the right side. Good help there. Dribbles back to the left. There's Falcons everywhere on him. Tucker in a lot of trouble. And finally, a foul called on Pearson. Went for the steal and didn't get it. Jayshott had more contact before that. He actually did shove the ball handler. And then when he went for the steal, I don't think he got him there. But the official blew the whistle. Either way, Jayshott did foul. 35 seconds to go. Lawrence leads it by 13. 28 to 15. So they've held Sullivan to two points in this quarter. I wasn't going to say it. I don't believe in the jinx. There's Fulmer with the steal, but he stepped on the sideline. It'll stay with Sullivan. There's some of my friends that believe in the jinx. Baseball players seem to believe in the jinx. I'm not that guy. I've just never believed in that. I always say that if my words have that much power over the world, that's a scary thought right there. Fulmer with a steal. Scrambles forward on the floor and gets it. Gets it to Pearson. Got it down to Burnett. Laid it up. Put it in. Pass down the floor to Tucker. Goes sideline. He's fouled by Burnett. No, he stepped out of bounds. Ooh. That was a... Frutuitous. That was a gift there. Zylan Burnett was definitely out of position there and did make contact with the shoulder. Stop, stop, stop, stop. Irons have come back in along with Jones, Payne, Burnett, and Pearson for the last 12 seconds. Florence leads it by 15 on senior night here. Pearson. At the paint. Lobs down low. Kicked it in the corner. Open for three. Good. Give it to Payne for three. And that'll do it for two quarters. Florence comes back. Storm's back in the second quarter and leads it 33-15 over Sullivan. This is Falcon Basketball. We're back in two minutes. Florence Utilities offers several ways to view and pay your utility bill. The T&T Fireworks Halftime Show where Florence leads at 33-15 over Seliget. Joined now by the head coach of the Florence Falcons, Coach Kenny Morrison. Coach, it's been a busy week for football coaches. People don't realize that. It never stops, does it? Never stops. It's been a crazy week. I think my ear is bleeding. I've had to switch back and forth from being on the phone with these coaches constantly for these kids. The recruiting business is difficult these days, to say the least. Well, you know, high school kids today don't get as much opportunities as they used to because of the portal situation. That's a tough break, too. Listen, I'm going to tell this, and I hope everybody's got their ears on. When we visited Carrollton, Georgia, Coach Sledge and I did to look at their facilities, and then we came back and visited with Thompson. We stayed a day with them over there, and I talked to Coach Freeman. Three years ago when we played them over there, they had 22 guys signed. Yep. Next year, he had 13 signed. Uh-huh. This year, six. That's powerful. With the same talent level he had that got signed with 22, he got six signed this time. Wow. And it's the transfer portal is a detriment. High school kids are just got to get in the door, and it's so hard. I mean, I could go on and on about it. It's been a disaster. Teams are building year by year. You and I, I talked to Coach Dierman today. They brought in 17 portal kids. Yeah. So, I mean, it's the day we live in. But you do have one young man that got his foot in the door today. Talk about it. Well, let's say he got his foot in the door about two hours ago. Wow. New defensive coordinator at UNA has come in, used to be the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, and then was at Kansas when D.C. there, when Coach Dierman was there. They brought in his son as a transfer quarterback and was able to bring him in as the new D.C. at UNA. And I've talked to the guy for 15 minutes on the phone today, and I'm impressed beyond belief and we were able to get Jay Shodd Pearson signed with UNA today. That's incredible. Within two hours ago, and it was on the 11th hour, I call it. It's signing days tomorrow and really signing days tomorrow, but it's not going to stop. We're going to have three more guys that are going to be in the mix to D3, NAIA, whether it be Tennessee Valley Community College or somewhere. We're going to possibly have Jimmy McDonald, Carter Graves, and, you know, Stephen Shivananda has been offered by some schools all over this country that you're just finding the right one close enough for him and the right fit. So, we're excited about that. Derek Peters will be signing with Tennessee Valley Community College tomorrow. Kelvis White, the head coach at Bob Jones, is now the AD head coach there. Okay. And is going to do it right. And he's also a national recruiter for Catapult, which is the vest that we wear that gives us so much data on the kids. And actually, the thing that got Leo Glover signed a few years ago when he ran a 21.9 miles per hour. Catapult doesn't lie, does it? Catapult doesn't lie. And I told, doesn't lie, Jay Shodd Pearson had a 23.1 against Bob Jones this year, running a kid down across the field. He was consistently high 21s to 22. And that equates into a guy that can run. Congratulations to those young men. We're all going to be signing tomorrow and some in the next week or so. So, congratulations to them. New region. I know we don't have much time, but talk about your new region. That's really important. Excited. I spent 22 years in this region. So excited to be back in what I call high school football being at its finest. I mean, the folks are going to be in the stands when you start talking about Decatur, Austin, Athens, Hartsell, Muscle Shoals, adding Russell in now with Coach Higgins down there. And then East Limestone, who's been a good program for many years back. And just that caliber of Friday night football. And everybody thinks that we're the largest 5A school, which is really 6A now. They did away with 7A, dropped it down. There's 32 6As, which is the old 7A. We're the largest 5A, which is the old 6A. And everybody thinks because we're the largest now in 6A, we should beat everybody in 6A. They do forget that Clay Chalkville, Hillcrest, Tuscaloosa, all those folks that have been dominant in those areas are still in there. But Muscle Shoals, I mean, they speak for themselves. The deal is we've got an opportunity every Friday night to win. We've got an opportunity every Friday night to go 5-5. It's a brutal region. We used to call it the SEC North when I was in it. It's brutal. You've got to have your A game every Friday. So it won't just happen overnight that we're all of a sudden going to just dominate in 6A. We're going to compete every Friday night. And the depth of us in the playoffs is better in this league than going the first round to a Thompson. And, you know, I'm not going to sugarcoat it. That top 32 in this state, you just as well be playing junior college football. I mean, it's insane. We've seen it. We know it. We have Baker. I mean, unbelievable. Thompson, Opelika. I mean, they could play with – they could give Tennessee Valley Community College some fits. Absolutely. So appreciate you having me on. Coach, we appreciate you being with us and appreciate the job you've done. And we're excited about the new season coming up as well. Fire up. And it's going to be good. You'll have a fall jamboree, I believe. That's right. We are. We're going to do a fall jamboree. We're not going to do spring training. We're going to take the extra week in the fall and do a fall jamboree. Excited about the fall. Our coaches are working extremely hard. And I'll tell you what, our kids are sold out. If the weight room is static in there, they are being pushed beyond belief. They are responding when they're on the line and there's not a word said and they're going to work, they're locked in ready. And we're excited about these guys. We're seeing their numbers soar. Kevin Sledge is killing them in there. Love where we're headed. Sounds good. Coach Kenny Marson, thank you, my friend. Thank you. Appreciate you having me on. The head coach of the Florida Falcons, we come back second half action. You're back. Listen, TNT Fireworks Halftime Show, back in one minute. Appreciate y'all. The voice of the Florence High School Falcons, WYTK-FM, Rogersville, Athens, Decatur, the Shoals, 93-9, the score. Back here at Coffee Gym, Kevin Johnson, Mike Alberson starting the third quarter action. Florence leads at 33-15. And the Blue Devils will have the ball. Tyler Tucker, who had nine points in the first half for the Blue Devils to lead Sultzian, has it, drives, goes up and has it stripped away by Pearson. Pearson blocked the shot and now on the floor is a Sultzian player and he's losing it and finally thrown away. Ball still scrambled forward. Green saves it to Pearson. That was a wild action. Pearson up to Payne, Payne in the corner, Irons will try a three, got it. How about Irons draining the three right there? Florence lead up to 36-15. And knocked out of bounds. Mike, I'll let you take that for Florence. First half scores. Yeah, leading the way was J.C. on Payne with a seven. Samarion Skipworth had five. Cooper Fulmer with five. Zanline Burnett had five. Kavante Green with four. Irons with two. Cage Roy with two. And Taylor Jones with three. About nine Falcons scored in the first half. Only two Blue Devils scored in the first half. Florence leads it by 20 now. Actually, shot up by Dobbins and he's fouled by Irons. Florence leads it by 21 actually, 36-15. And Dobbins at 6-6 will go to line to shoot two. You think Kenny Marson, by the way, the head coach of Florence, is a little fired up in football? Man, I'm fired up now. Yeah. I can't wait. But that's the enthusiasm and heart that this coach has for his players, for the program, and for Florence. I mean, he bleeds it. So, you know, you can't go on for about an eight-minute segment there. He barely took a breath there. And he just loves his program and his kids. One of two for Dobbins at the free-throw line. Florence down the floor quickly. Jones shot on the way. No good. Rebound fought for it. Taken down by the Sludgers. They want to run a little bit. Get it down to Coleman who gets in the lane. But he has four guys on him. Knocked away from behind. But it goes right to a teammate. As Barnett has it. Barnett up top. Guarded by Jones. Barnett in trouble. Gets it to Tucker who goes to the left. Tucker, between the legs dribble, goes baseline. Lost it down the sideline. Last touch by Florence. What also great announcement that J. Shot Pearson has been offered to sign with the University of North Alabama in football. That might have made my night, made my week right there. It certainly did. You know, we know the type of talent that he has. And he gets overlooked a good bit because of his size. You can't teach size. You can teach some skills. And he has the skills, absolutely. But what he was able to put on film, the D.C. over at UNA, really enjoyed, really liked it. And said, you know, just with his skill set and what he was able to show, it's been great. Jump ball. Irons reached up. Got it. Possession arrow back to Florence. Jay Shot has done it on the basketball court. He's done it in the football. He's a leader. And that's the thing about it. They're not just getting a great athlete. I think they're getting a leader. And that's going to pay dividends. I expect big things out of him. Don't let the size fool you. He will be on the field one day. Jay Shot trying to answer with a three and does. You talk about him. He says, hey, by the way, why are you talking about me? Tell him I just hit a three and I have seven points on the night. 39-16, Florence with a lead. Barnett for Sulligent. Left wing. Tucker couldn't handle it. Got it back. Drives into the lane. Put up a shot. Put it in. Smart play there, too, by Jay Shot not to get his third foul. Jay Shot down the floor. Got it to Jones. He goes to the basket strong and is fouled. Go to the line and shoot two. That's a small thing. Jay Shot had two fouls. And realizing he had two fouls, he said, you know what? There's a time to go for it and time not to. And he knew not to right there. Yeah, I mean, you said it earlier. This is his 90th game on the varsity level, which is kind of unheard of. But that being said, that means it comes with a heck of a lot of experience and knowing when to put the pressure and when to tap the brakes a little bit. You know, he's about as heady as a player as you can see. Brian Gunnels, the head coach of Sulligent, has done a good job with this team. Second free throw is good. One of two for Jones. Falcon's near to steal it away, but saved by Barnett. To Dobbins. He gets it across the midcourt, but threw it to the wrong player. That's Pearson. Pearson down the floor. Put up a Euro jumper. No good. Got the front of the rim. He was going to lay it over the top of it. Rebound taken by Sulligent. Barnett had his pocket pick. That's Pearson. He got it. Got it to Irons. He'll go with the left hand and lay it in. So, Irons gets the basket. Florence lead up to 42-18. Tucker in backcourt. Jones will pick him up at the midcourt strike. Tucker gets by him and he's fouled. Right call. And that's something I know this coaching staff has talked about. Play defense without reaching. Like Dylan Berthlin just said feet, not hands. Yeah, and that's tough. At times, you know, you've got to revert back to what you know and really stick with the fundamentals. When you reach like that, it's easy for the officials to make that call. Tucker had it knocked away. Jones got it. Jones saved it over. Got it to Pearson. Laid it up. Put it in. That's a tremendous play by Jones. And Pearson puts it in. Jones baited that, too. He sat back. He looked the other way. He knew exactly what was happening and made that play. Nears still goes right back to Sullivan. And a shot no good, but a foul called on Florence. And Coleman will go to the line to shoot two. Irons will pick up the foul. And Coleman will go to the line to shoot two free throws. Florence leaves at 44-18. The difference in this game was in the second quarter where Florence was down by one, 13-12 after one. The first free throw is good. And I love it. One of the Falcon students took his shirt off down there. He's a big old boy. He took his student off. And Coleman and Dobbins and the whole soldier fan started laughing. They couldn't help it. They laughed. They hit the free throw. They acknowledged the kid did it. They had a little fun out of it. I love that sportsmanship there. Second free throw. Missed it. One of two. Rebound over net. You know what? Let high school kids be high school kids and have fun with it. Roy, baseline. Spins. Put it up. Short. No good. Rebound by soldier. Tucker. Left wing to Coleman. He'll try the three. Short. No good. With the rebound. Grab by Metcalf. He lost it. Ball scramble on the floor. Went right to a soldier player. Tucker find the lane. Lane laid it up. Put it in. Timeout. Take him to Sully. We'll do the same. Florence leads it handily. 44-21. Falcon basketball back in 30. Imagine a bank where you feel at home. Florence has come out and taken control of this one over Sully. Leading at 44-21. You might not ask how these two teams got together and playing. As Florence will get it down to the floor. Burn Nance to Skipworth. I'll tell you about that in a minute. Pearson open for three. Short on that one. Rebound taking by Sully. You got to remember that Dylan Burleson, a hateable guy. Ben Mullins, an assistant coach, a Winfield guy. They're familiar with Sully. They have a friendship with Sully on some of that. So they know some of the players. They know some of the coaches and community. So I'm sure them and Coach Gunnels knew each other and said, hey, would you like to play Sully? Yeah. So they worked out a deal. It's a big deal for Sully to come here. And it's good for these two teams to play. It's good for both teams. Skipworth will pull up for three for Florence. Short, no good. Pearson rebound to Payne. He'll try the three. Got that one to go. And that's good, Mike, to see Jason Payne getting his shot back a little bit. Roy got the steal, but it's stolen right back behind from Sully. It's the Blue Devils habit. But Jason's needed that shot to start falling some. Right. You know, shooters get hot and cold. We know that. And, you know, as we approach the season, I mean, Brian James started his senior campaign a little slow, a little cold, but then came on hot when the time was right and really propelled this Falcon team through the playoffs last year. So Jason getting himself hot now would be a beautiful thing. He'll try another three. Can't get that one tipped up in the end by Burnett. That's a great tip by Burnett. Florence answers back. By the way, Will Dobbins of Selgin, while we're talking, hit a three. He's a big man from down behind. Selgin breaks the press. Try to lob it in and throw it away. Back to Florence. Florence leads it by 25. At the end of the game will come Fulmer and Jones. Payne will come out along with Pearson. Fullmer, Jones, swings around inside. Got it to Burnett, who couldn't get the shot to go. Rebound taken down by the big man, Dobbins. Knocked away from behind, but a foul called on Florence's Burnett. Xilin trying to go around and pick his pocket from behind. You know, a little sneak attack there. Wound up getting the arm. I could have feeling Xilin's going to get a dunk tonight. He's going to be, he's running that chicken coop, I like to say. Tucker has it up top. Picked up by Jones. They actually skipped over there. Dobbins got a step. Goes in, put it up. Blocked by Jones. Jones will bring it up the floor. Jones at midcourt had to stop. Keeps his dribble alive. Goes hard to the basket. Left hand layup. Wouldn't go. He did everything right, but couldn't get it to go. And Dobbins got the rebound. The Dobbins gets rid of it to his teammate, Coleman. Burnett will pick him up. 14 versus 14. Both wear the same number. Coleman into the lane. Stop. Let Burnett fly by and got the shot to go. That's a smart play there. By Coleman, who won that edition of it. Falcons back down the floor. Leading at 49-26. Jones to Burnett against the 2-3 zone. A minute and a half to go in the third. Skipworth drives into the paint. Gave it over to his teammate. Shot no good, but Roy will go in line to shoot two. What a beautiful look there by Skipworth. Very unselfish. As the defender was crashing in towards him, he hit Roy right underneath on that baseline, right under the bucket, creating some contact and getting a foul. Roy's free throw. Got that one to go. This Falcon team will be on the road Thursday night in Boonville, Mississippi. Forgive me for not being able to make that trip, but the Falcons will finish their regular season on the road across the state border. And in a week from Thursday, Roy makes both free throws. A week from Thursday, Florence will open up area tournament play against James Clemens. I believe that's a 6-30 tip time. Tucker with Roy all over him. Gets down the sideline. And that's Roy got too much body there. Too much body can get you sometimes. Absolutely. And Tucker's looking for that. You know, he's really dribbling into guys. And, you know, he's really getting beat up out there. The officials have let these guys play a little bit, but I don't, you know, they could be blowing the whistle a little more. And as I say that, now they're shooting too because they're in the bonus. With 1-13 to go in the third. Florence leading at 51-26. Coach Brian Gunnels coaching his team up like not the scoreboard is. And so is Dylan Bolton of Florence. Two coaches didn't say, don't let the scoreboard just play. First free throw, no good. By Tucker. Second attempt coming. He rolls that one in. One of two. Irons will inbound it. And Burnett will bring it up the floor. Burnett gets the screen up top. And the ball moves around. Every Falcons touched it now. Irons picks it up. Gets it to Skipworth. To Jones in the corner. Burnett, three. High arch of three. No good. Rebound, tipped around. Taken by Fulmer. Fulmer picks it up. Fulmer bounce pass inside to Irons. Irons bounce pass across the lane. Got it to Burnett. Burnett scissors reset with 45 seconds to go. Got it back into Fulmer. Put it up. Shot block from behind. Retrieved back there by Skipworth. Skipworth kicked it back out. Jones for three. Got it. Beautiful movement of the basketball. Unselfish all around, Mike. Yeah, that was a great job by the Falcons. A lot of guys touched it multiple times. And they were able to find the right shot. Taylor Jones hit the open three. Tucker looking to go one on five. Got a step. Got it in the lane. And put it up. And put it in. And he's fouled. He's a handful. I mean, I'm giving credit. He's got 13, 12 or 13 right now. At the 2A level, I could see him being a player that could give folks fits. Unofficially got him at 14 for the night. But, yeah, he plays fearless out there. You know, he's outmatched a little bit in some ways. But he's really playing aggressive and believes in himself. And you can tell each and every time he touches the ball, he believes that he's going to score. Missed the free throw. Jones will bring it up. Payne will bring it up the floor. Payne. Swings around to Jones. He's already hit a couple of threes. Back to Payne. Into the paint. 15-footer. That one back rim. Irons went high for the rebound. Put it in. That's a buzzer. It counts. Florence leaves it at 56-29. After three, this is Talking Basketball. We're back in 60. No matter the size of your team or your fan crew, Lost Pizza's got you covered. We're talking wings, salads, and the one and only Monster Pizza. Perfect for team dinners, watch parties, or post-game celebrations. Big plays deserve big flavor. And nobody delivers like Lost Pizza. No representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers. One quarter left in this one. Florence leads to 56-29 on senior night. Here at the Coffee Gym, Kevin Johnson and Mike Albertson, glad to be with you. Mike, when you look at this Falcon team, and we talk about these seniors, this quarter is special. This is a special moment, and I'm sure Dylan Burleson will handle this well. They will get a special recognition tonight. Soldier with a basketball. Knocked away from behind. Travel. Took too many steps on that Euro step. He went a Euro step and an Asian step. You can't put the Asian step in the Euro step. Is that a good way to put it? It was, yeah, when you do that jump stop and then you do a Euro step, that's one too many as far as I'm concerned. If you go two continents instead of one continent, it's not good. Jones with it, top of the key. Pearson. Boy, what a hand is my Pearson there because that was a near still. He's double teamed in the corner. He just doesn't panic. Gets it out to Irons. Swings around to Payne. It's open for three. Back rim wouldn't go. And Pearson chases down to rebound. Pearson says, everybody get in position. Got it to Payne. He'll pull up from 12. Got that one to go. Good shot there by Jayceon. Lawrence up 58-29. Tucker in front court. Spins back towards the lane. Gave it to his teammate. They swing it back up top. Coleman has it now. Picked up by Payne. Coleman to Barnett. Free throw line. Can't get the shot off. Metcalf will drive hard at the basket. Nowhere to go with it. He's in trouble. Throws it back up top. And lost going up by Tucker. Saved, though, again by Sullivan. J.D. Smith shot no good. And rebound finally taken by Florence. Pearson. No look. Beautiful to Green. Laid it in. And Florence leaves it by 31. Green just snuck in behind everybody on the baseline. Jay shot. Hit him low block with a little baseball pass. Had some heat on it. Kamonte Green with the good hands up and off the glass. And that's going to be on a foul call on Florence or on Florence, actually? Irons threw a little shiver. I forgot he was playing basketball there for a minute. And that was an easy call. Well, when a guy sets a screen, you know, sometimes if you fight through that screen and you go right through the guy, it's usually frowned upon. And that's exactly what happened there. Irons just fought through that screen with a little too much gumption. So you take Irons out for fighting through the screen. And what does Dylan Burles do? He puts in Lewis and Burski. Well, that's a big switch. Boy, moisture on the floor. It costs Lewis to lose his footing. Got to clean that up. The basket is good. Payne will try to answer on the other end. Three won't go. Rebound taken by Dobbins. Slick spot in the paint there. I wish they would clean that up just to make sure everybody's safe. Shot no good. Rebound tipped around. Taken by Lewis. He gets rid of it to Pearson. Pearson down the floor. Looking, looking, surveys. Gets it up. Cross court. Got it to Payne. Payne doesn't want to take the shot there. Drive. Find a look. Put it up. Put it in. Payne in double figures now. 62-31. The clock will run for a while. Barnett picked up by Burski. Barnett goes all the way towards the lane. Put up a shot and rolled it in. So, Will Barnett with his first basket of the day. Payne down the floor. Goes baseline. Put up another shot. Same spot. Missed that one. Was expecting contact and didn't get it. And a whistle on the foul. And a flint. Florence got him from behind. Lewis reached in on the foul. Dobbins in backcourt. Gets it to Coleman. Coleman spins towards the midcourt stripe. And then Watson on foul on Payne. And, you know, I know you want to go for that. But sometimes it's playing with your feet, Mike, not your hands. That's the big thing. Absolutely. When you get beat like that and you come with a wraparound, I mean, it's a 50-50 ball. Even if you hit the ball, it's a 50-50 chance that a referee is going to blow that whistle. And it's just kind of a, you know, some coaches would call that a lazy defensive play. 62-33. Florence leads it. Coleman has stood all the way back in the backcourt. And Dobbins will chase it down. He picks up his dribble in backcourt. So Coleman will have to bring it up the floor and races down behind the back. Gets across the midcourt stripe. Pulls up a running three. Banked up. No good. Got his own rebound. He's a hustler. Gets it back. End of the paint again. Got a step. Burski went up and challenged him. No good. Rebound out of bounds. Last touch by Florence. It'll stay with Seligie. Payne will come out. Fulmer will come in. 346th county. Lobbed it into Dobbins at the three-point line. He'll take the three. Missed that one. Rebound by Burski. Bo Burski gets his first rebound. Pearson puts it up to Lewis. Oh, Jadon should have shot that one. Got a shot now. Goes to the basket. Into the lane. Put it up. No good. Rebound tipped around. Burski chases it down. Back over to Pearson. To Green. He's not shy. But he gives it back to Pearson. Pearson inside. Looking. Wanting to lob it over. And finally stolen away by Barnett. Pearson was doing everything. He was trying to get seniors in the game right there, wasn't he, Mike? He certainly was. You could tell he drew in all the defenders. He was trying to shoot one out there to Lewis or Fulmer. Just trying to give them an opportunity to score as this game is closing out. And that just shows just the IQ he has on basketball. Just a high IQ in all he does. Jumping all the way short, no good. It's a point guard's job to get their guys into the game and make those players better. And Jay Shaw was trying to do that there. Coleman is fouled by Green. Move your feet. That was prototypical right there. Did not move his feet at all. Reached in. And it was quite the blow. And Jay Shaw Pearson comes off the floor. For the last time at home. Gives a nice round of applause. I think four of us realized what happened. We were the ones that stood for him. Right. Ball's thrown away. Florence will have it underneath the basket. Dobbins held him. So, Florence will inbound it. Leading it 62-33. Dobbins fouled out there. He finished with six points on the night. Rebound. Out of bounds. And guess he wants to go back in the game. Jay Shaw Pearson. I don't think Coach thought he got a good enough applause. He's going to make it a bigger deal, I think. We'll see. Yeah, we better. Jay Shaw might just say, let me play it out, Coach. I just want to play it out. 120 to go. I'll never say it's his last time. Matter of fact, with college going on, I'll never say it's any athlete's last time. They keep coming back and playing no matter where they've been. I'm about to petition the NCAA. Good grief. I think you've got a couple of eligibility left. NBA three by Tucker. In and out, no good. Rebound by Pearson. Pearson up the floor. Blows by two Blue Devils. Bounce pass to Lewis. He better shoot the three. Won't make it. Had a good look. Wouldn't get it to go. Soldier will bring it up the floor. Deep three on the way. Good. That win by Barnett. And timeout taken by Florence. Timeout by Florence. And here is the substitute for the seniors for the last time. They will come off the floor for the last time here at Coffee Gym and get a nice round of applause. Pearson, Fulmer, and Lewis. They deserved it. And big hug from all the coaching staff for Pearson and others. So, one of the veteran officials, Joey Isbo, coming over here. Tell us he enjoyed the year. He's been doing this for longer than I've been doing this, I promise you. In better shape than I am still. Florence doubling up right now on Sullivan. 62-36 with 30 seconds to go. Irons swings it around. It's a 2-3 zone to Jones to Irons. Got it to Burski. Burski goes and had it knocked away. Stolen away. He was trying to get it to a teammate. Everybody was trying to get Burski the shot, but it wouldn't go. Sullivan will bring it across the midcourt strike. Tucker has it with five. Another three put up, and that one's so good. And Irons will hold it, and that'll do it. And Florence will win it over Sullivan. 62-36 on senior night. Falcons with a big win. We want to wish Coach Burleson and the entire Falcon Basketball team good luck this season. Back here at Coffee Gym where Florence wins at 62-36, the TNT fireworks postgame show. We're joined not by the head coach. How about the seniors? I love it right now. We're Javion Lewis, Cooper Fulmer, J-Shod Pearson, and don't forget the manager, Zach Morris, all here together. We'll start with J-Shod Pearson. And J-Shod, I don't know if you realize this. This is your 90th game to play in a Florence Falcon uniform tonight. You started 88 of them. What's it been like to put on that uniform 90 times? I'm just glad that I got to play for Florence, and it's just been a blessing. Well, we are so blessed to watch you, how you've been a little general for all these years, and really proud of you. And we want to tell you that. And we also want to say on behalf of us, congratulations. We hear big news for you today going forward, so we're excited for you going to the next level. Are you excited, though, about being playing for Florence? We've still got some games to play. Oh, yes, sir, I'm excited. I'm really ready for next Thursday, that game seven, so we can let people know, like, what's going on. All right, I like that. That's good right there. We're excited about that as well, and we look forward to what you're going to do in the future as well. First things first, we'll get rid of it. We'll let you pass it off to Cooper here. Cooper Fulmer will put on the headset now, and Cooper puts on the headset. Coop, what is it like to be a senior and play in this game tonight? Yes, sir, it's been a lot playing for this program, and Coach Burleson. I've been here ever since he got here my sophomore year on JV. Just going through it last year, what an experience, and we're looking to next Thursday to where we got a chance to go back to Wallace and further, if we can. Going to Wallace and going to the state tournament last year, does that help you with confidence no matter what the season's been like going into the area tournament? Yes, sir. You know, we're going to go out there and hoop regardless, and we're going to be us. Be us is good. I'm going to let you pass it off to JV and Lewis here. Thank you. JV is going to take the headset from Cooper Fulmer. Forgive us for the static. We'll get that all fixed there. JV to put that on. JV, you're wearing number 22 in basketball. Yes, sir. What's it like on senior night here tonight for a great crowd? It feels great just thinking about all the memories that I had on this court, you know. Just totally blessed for it, you know. What was it like pre-game to come out on the floor with all family and everybody here tonight? It was exciting just seeing everybody, all the people I grew up with, just every good day shine for one night, you know. I'm just still blessed for it. Thank God for it. What has Coach Dylan Burleson meant to y'all as seniors? Man, he means a lot. Like, he really teaches us the game, like, in and out, everything, every little detail. He's a great coach, you know. Well, I agree totally, and congratulations on a great career. Give it off to the manager. He didn't know he was going to do this. We're going to let Zach put the headset on. We're going to have Zach Morris here. Zach, how many years have you been the manager for the Florence Falcons? Oh, I think seven. Seven years that you've done this. You've been with him, now you're a senior. Was it pretty special for you tonight to be able to walk out on senior night and be recognized? Yes, sir. So, what is your favorite memory of being a manager for Florence High School? It's probably when we went to state last year. Went to state last year. Well, we hear big things are in order for you in the future. We congratulate you, and best of luck down in the future. Thank you. Zach Morris, the manager here at Florence High School. Mike Albertson, what a way to wrap up senior night with these guys getting a chance to be on the radio and just say thank you for what they've done. Absolutely. You know, these guys are special, special to the program, and they've done some great things, both on and off the court, you know. And so, just being able to honor these guys one last time was a special moment for us. You know, we get to travel alongside these guys and watch them grow. You know, it's definitely special. And, you know, those senior nights always mean just a little bit more, and being a part of this one tonight was also special. It really was. Florence wins at 62-36. We're going to take a 30-second timeout, come back and wrap it up. This is Falcon Basketball. Florence Utilities now offers new bill pay options. Welcome back to the TNT Fireworks Post Game Show, where Florence wins at 62-36 over Sullivan. Kevin Johnson, Mike Albertson, glad to have another season in the books for regular season basketball. I've been with it from the very first one, which was 22 years ago, J.D. Byers. I still love coming in this gym and calling games, and every game is important. There's been some great mail biters. Tonight was a fun one for me, just to watch this senior group that probably has one of the more historic senior three-year runs of any team, especially going to a state championship game last year. Pretty impressive by those three seniors. It certainly was, and, you know, J. Shaw gets the lion's share of the playing time there, but it definitely takes a village, and Cooper Fulmer, you know, just being a great teammate and really working hard throughout the year, and J.D. and Lewis getting in the paint, working those hard minutes underneath, you know, those guys, they all have a role on this team, and Coach Burleson helps them understand how important they are, and, you know, that's why they keep coming out and working as they do. So these seniors, you know, my hat's off to you, about as successful of a bunch as you can get, and just some really good kids to be around as well. Well said. All I can do is say well said on that. Let's get our final stats brought to us by good friends at Chick-fil-A. Hey, buy the commemorative cup. I promise you, there's a golden one out there for somebody. Mike, take it away. Thanks. Leading the way for Sojin is Tyler Tucker with 14 points. Sage Coleman finished with nine. Will Dobbins with six. And Will Burnett with two points leading the way for the Falcons. We have J.C. On Payne with 14 points. Taylin Jones with seven. Jay Shobb with seven. Tamarian Skipworth with three. Cage Roy with four. Cooper Former finished with five. Nine for Jaden Irons. Zylan Burnett finished with seven. And Kevante Green finished with six points. Florence trails Sully at 13-12 after one, but then the second quarter, they put the clamps down and led it 33-15. They went on to lead it 56-29 after three and coasted in the third, fourth quarter to a 62-36 game winning on senior night for Florence. They will go on the road to Boonville, Mississippi Thursday. Our next broadcast will be on February 12th from James Clemens. Area tournament time. That's when it gets serious. That's when it's the real deal. Basketball's a tournament sport. Florence made a run last year. Can they do it again? Can they be the Cinderella of all Cinderellas this year? They will be the fourth seed. But they've already beat James Clemens once. Can they do it again? We'll find out. We'll be with you on that broadcast, Lord willing, on February the 12th. Well, that's going to do it for us tonight on the TNT Fireworks postgame show. Thank you to TNT Fireworks for being our pregame halftime and postgame sponsors as well. Big thank you to Kenny Marson, the head coach of Florence Football, for being our halftime guest. And a big thank you to Coach Dylan Burleson, the head coach of Florence Basketball, for always working with us and getting the senior zone here on senior night as well. That's going to do it for us tonight. For our station manager, Greg Thornton, for James Moody in the 93.9 The Score Studios, the best one in the business, I promise you. My good friend and best friend, Mike Albertson, who has Mario Cristobal written all over me, I understand. I'm Kevin Johnson. Have a great night. Go Falcons. And I'll see you in church on Sunday.
