And now the boys get ready to play face off against Austin. It's a big game. The winner of this game will be in the three, four slot or excuse me, the number three slot. The loser would be the number four slot. And it's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. But you really want to try to get to that three spot if you can. And both teams will try to do it as Florence is on the road at Austin in Decatur. Both teams are warming up. Welcome back to the TNT Fireworks pregame show, Florence Falcons basketball. Kevin Johnson flying solo with you tonight. Thursday night, a game that's been moved up from Friday night because of the impending weather, possibly moving into the Shoals area and to North Alabama, as we all know. So the two schools got together and said, let's move it to Thursday. All schools are great. It worked out, and it's good to see that happen. So it should be a good one tonight here on the road in Decatur, Alabama. Florence coming off a big win over Russell Bull on Tuesday night, a company from behind. They were down early in the first quarter. But the last three quarters, they played much more like the Florence Falcons would have expected in the past few weeks, where they really turned the corner a little bit but had a little letdown the last area again against Bob Jones. But now they've seen like the right of the ship, and they'll find out tonight as they get ready to take on the Black Bears of Austin High School. The Austin Black Bears have struggled some this season as well. Matter of fact, to be honest about it, only one team out of the four-team area has a winning record right now, if I'm not mistaken, and that is James Clemens. But that's sort of misleading too because like Bob Jones, who really is playing as well as anyone other night, they really looked good the other night, and they are a team that is right at 500. Meanwhile, Florence has played well in the last few weeks, picked it up, and Austin has played well as well. So it's going to be a tough game. It's always tough to be on the road at Austin High School. Dylan Burleson has been, I mean, a great young coach, as we saw last year in his first two years actually. And this year probably doesn't have the size that you'd want for a 7-18, but he's played a tough schedule, but he's pushed the team. And now he's got them ready for tournament play, and it's a tournament sport. So that's why Dylan Burleson has been a tremendous head coach. So we will see what the Falcons do tonight against this tough place to play, the Black Bears of Austin High School. Good crowd on hand for Austin and a good crowd for Florence here as well. So we're looking forward to this one tonight. Hope you enjoy the broadcast as well. When we come back, starting lineups around the corner for this Florence and Austin game. Back here on the TNT Fireworks pregame show, wrapping it up as both teams make their way to the benches here. After warming up, starting lineup is about to be introduced in just a few minutes as well. For these two teams who met earlier this season in Austin and Florence met over in Florence, and I believe the outcome was one that went to the way of the Black Bears. So the Falcons will try to right the ship tonight against that and move into that middle of the pack 2-3 spot in 7A area. I think it's area 8 is what we're called, actually. Looking forward to this one for the two teams. Big thank you to Mr. Carpenter, assistant principal of Austin High School for helping us out tonight. He is one of the best to take care of us on the radio crew. Starting lineups for the Florence Falcons tonight. Taylin Jones, 6'3 junior, will get the start. Been really good on the inside. Jayceon Payne, one of the best players in the area and in North Alabama, 5'10 junior, wears number one. Jayshod Pearson will get the start. The point guard, 5'9 senior. Cage Roy will get the start as well. He has played well in the past few weeks. 6'3 sophomore, like his future. And Kibante Green, who wears number 10, a 6'2 junior. So, it will be Green, Roy Pearson Payne, and Jones for the Florence Falcons. R.J. Wright will get the start. R.J. Wright will get the start. Where's number three for Austin? So, Michael Taylor would get the start as well. Kibante Green, number 10, T.J. Statton. Kaden Ricks will get the start. And Timothy Statton, the two post players. And finally, Kaelin Horton. So, Horton, Rick Statton, Taylor, and Wright. Desmond Phillips, the head coach of Austin, who is 10-12 on the year. Florence, 8-16 on the year. Both teams, 1-4 in region play. While Bob Jones and James Clemens are both 4-1 in region play. So, that's why it's so important for this game tonight. The Falcons wearing the road black. Austin wearing the home white with orange letters. Trimmed in blue. Excuse, trimmed in black. Florence will be going right to left. It's now time for Austin. Kevante Green jumping center against Ricks of Austin. Basketball. Big game for Florence, who lost 72-67 back on December 12th at this Austin team. And the ball is tipped and went out of bounds. Last touch by the Black Bears. Nope, they're going to say last touch by the Falcons. So, it'll be Austin's basketball. Austin will be going right in front of the Florence bench where Coach Dylan Burleson stands. Wearing the blue tops, as all his coaches do tonight with the black pants. And the Black Bears will have it first. Pearson puffed it away there from the court guard, Horton. Horton against the man-to-man defense. Gets it to Ricks. Picked up by Green up top. Statton, who's really a good player, has Roy on him. Now, Ricks from 18 feet, just inside of the three-point line, no good. The box-out was good, but a catch was made. And the layup is good on the other end for the Austin Black Bears. As Florence got caught running for the ball, but the ball went the other way. And Austin gets the first points, 2-0. Statton with the basket. Right in front of Coach Desmond Phillips. The whistle goes back to Florence. And he frowns and growls a little bit. He will do that from time to time. It is a tough place to play. Roy will inbound it. Gets it into Pearson, the top of the key. Got the screen. Picks up his dribble to the left wing to Payne. Back to Pearson. Ball reversal now. Hand it back to Payne from NBA range. Three. Won't go. Green got the rebound. Lost it on the floor. Knocked away. Stolen away by the Black Bears. Coming out of there with it was R.J. Wright. Wright down to Statton. Statton to the left wing. Gets it to Horton, the point guard. Cross-court pass. Gets that one over to Taylor. Now they go back out to Ricks. Ricks gets the two-man game. Wants to go to Statton inside. Got it on the block. Back out to Ricks. Who tries to go baseline. Lost it going up. Good defense by Green. And then Florence has it. Falcons come out of the left sideline. That's Payne with it. Pulls up for three again. No good. Won't make it. Rebound. Gink down by Taylor. Didn't quite have control of the ball. He went ahead and shot it. Wasn't a bad shot, but wasn't in rhythm. 2-0 lead. Austin with the basketball. Ricks can't get by Green. Has to get rid of it to Wright. Wright down. Gets it back on the two-man game. They run that three-man wave a little bit. Swing the ball around to Taylor. Got away with a walk. Spins in the lane. And a whistle. And they're going to say Jones got him on the arm. Not a shooting foul, I don't think. And they're going to call the foul to number two, Pearson, who was nowhere around when that happened. So, they give the foul to Jayshod. Austin will inbound it. Lead it 2-0. 6-18 to go here in the first quarter on a Thursday night in Decatur, Alabama. And Staten went back door. Got open and laid it in. Went to sleep there. He has all four points. Florence down 4-0. Roy lost it. Got it back. Got it to Pearson in the paint. Got rid of the green. He goes up and had it blocked from behind by the taller Riggs. Riggs is a long guy. It's 6'4", 6'5". And has great length. And he come from behind to block green shot. But poked away by Pearson. Picked the pocket of Horton. Goes up. Euro step. Layup. Good. The first points of the day. Goes to the senior, Jayshod Pearson. And Florence will pick up full court. Picking the pressure up a little bit. Horton will bring it up now. Gets rid of it. To Wright. Wright will run the point with Pearson on him. Way outside the three-point line. Now he starts to make a move a little bit. Trying to get the screen up top. Good job of Pearson. Stays with him. But he went by him and laid it in. Little blow by and stop. Let Pearson go by him. And then he went and got the layup. Roy goes baseline for Florence. Lost it down the baseline. Turn over Florence. Saved by the Black Bears. They'll bring it up the floor. Leading at 6-2. Taylor. To Wright. Wright back out to Ricks. Ricks inside the stat. And fade away from eight feet. Will not go. And a good box out there by Florence. Payne has it. Payne. By one Black Bear. Pulls back now. Says let's reset. Lawrence in the road. Black uniforms. Got it to green. In the post. Goes up. Had it blocked again. He wasn't shy. But he got it back. To Payne. To Pearson. For three. Wouldn't go. Rebound taken down by Ricks. They're owning the boards right now. Are the Black Bears. They lead it 6-2. Ricks has it in front court. And they're going to call a reach in on green. That's the right call. So, Florence will pick up the foul. It'll be the first. On Kevante. Green. And the inbound pass coming. They've had a layup after the last one. They get it in this time to Ricks. From 15 feet. That was no good. Rebound tipped around and taken by Jones. Off Lawrence. Good box out by all the boys in black and blue. Here comes Payne with it. Jaycee on. Yo-Yo's with the dribble. Goes to the left to Roy. Roy back to Payne. Got a screen. Got the switch now. Statton's on him. Right by him on the left. Goes up. Scoop layup. Put it up. Rolled it up. Won't go. Rebound came back down to the Black Bears Statton. That was not a bad shot. And a quick outlet. But knocked away by Payne on the other end. No, it didn't. Knocked out by Payne. It'll go back to Florence. As Horton was trying to convince me. And he did. But the official said, nope. Nobody touched it. Turn over Austin. So, a little sloppy by both teams early on. 6-2. Florence brings some substitutes in. Burnett. The freshman instant offense will come in. Along with Skipworth. So, Florence trails 6-2. Pearson at the free throw line. Kicks it back out to Skipworth. Back over to Pearson. Swings it in the corner. Payne for three. Won't go. Tipped around. Rebound. Taken down there by Florence. Goes up with a block shot inside of Skipworth. Couldn't get it to go. And a foul in back court against Florence. Was not a bad foul. Probably saved a run out. That's on Skipworth. So, Florence has three team fouls. Austin, zero team fouls. 3-48 to go in the first quarter. Statton will come out of the game. Checking in for Austin will be Kingston Powell, who wears number 22. Florence picks it up full court. Almost got the steal. And should have the steal. That should be a turnover. There's no way that should have gone back to Austin. Skipworth never touched it. But the officials were not looking for that to happen. But it'll go back to Austin. So, you're not going to get some of those sometimes. It was close. But now they'll have to end about it in front of their own bench. And they finally get it in. R.J. Wright picked up by Payne. Still in back court. Gets across the midcourt stripe. Here comes the double. And it poked away. And stolen away by Skipworth. He's got a run out. Goes up. Laid it up. Put it in. Great jump on that double at the midcourt. Stripe. And it worked. Florence trims the lead to 6-4. Wright will bring it across the midcourt stripe with Burnett on him. The freshman will pick him up and run. Looking for help. Wright calling the signals. Goes left side with it. Deep three by Horton. Up. No good. In and out. Rebound taken by Jones. If Jones would have looked up, he had a guy with him. A teammate. But he couldn't do it. So, Jones will bring it up to the floor. And says, let's slow it down. Boy, he handles the ball well for a big guy. Up top to Pearson. Pearson in the corner. Thought about the three. Goes crunk to the basket. Laid it up. Went and go. Rebound. A foul called. And that one's going to be on Jones. I do believe. Yep. Jones is going to pick up the foul. Florence with 14 fouls. Zero for Austin at the 256 mark. We are on the road. We're in the dark jerseys. It happens. Nothing bad. I'm saying that most of these are fouls. But it can go. Something being noticed. Austin having trouble getting inbounds. And finally do. Get it back. Now they got numbers. Three on two. Go down. But lost the ball. Had to retrieve it in his pile. Back up top of three. It's short. Missed everything. Air ball. And it'll go back to Florence. Great job boxing out. With a Florence staff on their feet. Coaching up every player. Coach Ben Mullins, the assistant coach. He had Cade Roy tell him something. Coach Dylan Burleson, head coach, had something. Just say Corey Hughes was parking out something. Great staff. Florence down six to four. Man-to-man pressure by both teams as Florence brings it across the floor. Early on here in the first quarter. Burnett has it up top. Now he swings around to Payne who lost it. Ball floated around. It's going to be picked up in a jump ball. Oh, they're going to call a foul. Who are they going to call a foul on? Skipworth? So the 15th foul in 229. Austin's going to shoot free throws. Second personal foul on Skipworth. The officials looked at each other and said one race with an open hand. One race with a closed hand. And really wasn't sure about the closed hand. And they finally looked at each other and said, yeah, we'll call a foul. And it was on Florence. It could have been. It was across the way. But I'm just saying it was indecision there. And no matter what, it's going to send Jermichael Taylor to the line to shoot two. And he makes the first. Seven to two. Where's number five? Florence has Burnett, Skipworth, Jones, and Fulmer on the floor along with Pearson. Both free throws are made there by Taylor. Pearson across the midcourt strike. Florence down eight to four. Horn set. Two guys up top. They get it now back up top to Burnett, who goes into the paint. Lost it going up. And we may have the first foul of the night called on Austin. We'll see. And I think so. But it was not shooting, they said. Ryan Wright picks up the foul. So, Florence inbounded underneath the basket. They'll run the box set. Look to get it in bounds. Jones gets it in now to Roy. Roy to Pearson. Back to Jones. He's open for three. Good. Knocked that one down. Big shot there by Tay Jones. Florence trims the lead to eight to seven here with two minutes to go in the first quarter. Taylor has it up top. Picked up by Fulmer. Now bounce down to Ricks. They run the double. Knocked away. Good steal. Fulmer knocked it away. Stolen away. Florence has numbers. Jones coast to coast. Left hand layup. Good. Florence leads. Nine to eight. Quickly down the floor. Ricks lost it again. Taken away by Florence. Jones again. Jones in backcourt says they'll slow it down and gets it to Pearson. Falcons lead at nine to eight. Pearson surveys traffic. Back step. Fifteen footer short. No good. Rebound, though, down the floor. And Pearson got it. Picks it back up. And they're going to call a walk. They're going to Pearson. And that might have been the right call. Wild action. But Florence with a five-point swing by Tay Jones alone. Lead at nine to eight now with 127 to go. And Florence is staying full court. Man to man. Dylan Burleson has been going eight, nine, ten deep at times. Trying to use depth to be a factor. Backcourt, RJ Wright picked up by Fulmer. Trying to look for the double coming. Gets rid of it now to Taylor. Taylor goes baseline. Wants to get rid of it. Back out to Horton. Open for three. He missed out with no good badly. But the ball goes up off the backboard. And taken down by Florence is Roy. Roy has it. Look. Survey. Scott it to Burnett. Burnett in the lane. Put it back. It's not a charge. And they called it. That's a terrible call. That guy flopped. He was all the way under the basket. And it wasn't even close. And they call a charge. I'll argue that one on the air. It'll give me against the freshman Burnett. Nine to eight. Florence still with a one-point lead. Dylan Burleson talking to the official to call that charge. Down in the middle. Shot blocked by Burnett. Out of bounds. Last touch by Florence. Now they're going to say last touch by Austin. So Florence confronted Taylor. And we'll get the ball back with Florence. Desmond Phillips, head coach, also said it was a blocked shot. I think it was. But the official was in a conversation with Dylan Burleson. He was distracted. He didn't see it. So it goes back to Florence. We get a break on the road. Roy up top. Swings it around now. Burnett on the wing. Spinning. Got into the paint. Put it up with the left hand and put it in. Boy, he's starting to play with confidence. The youngster. 11-8. Florence with a lead. Ball kick. No call. It goes back to Austin. So it's going to be that type of game on both sides. Florence comes with the jump. Ricks throws it. Got it now to Taylor. Goes in the paint. He has shot blocked by Burnett out of bounds. The freshman playing well with 16.8 on the clock. Dylan Burleson bringing Kevante Green back in. Fulmer will come out. So go big on defense. Leading by three. Knowing they like to lob it to Rick some. Austin runs some good stuff out of bounds on baseline. They're looking. Finally get it in. Taylor swings around to Powell to Rick who surveys, looks at the clock. He wants to take it one-on-one. And Burnett says, I'll take him one-on-one if I can. He takes a wild pass inside, but he found the guy at the last minute. Shot no good. Rebound down the floor. And there will be no shot. And that will end one quarter. Not bad for Florence. They look pretty weak early on, but look strong in the last three minutes. They lead at 11-8. Falcon basketball returns in one minute. Florence Utilities now offers new bill pay options. One quarter in the books here on the road for the Florence Falcons. Kevin Johnson with you, voice of the Florence Falcons, and Falcons lead it 11-8. We'll have the basketball to start the second quarter. Roy, Green, Payne, Pearson, and Burnett on the floor. Green will have it up top, get it to Payne on a set play. Three on the way, wouldn't go, but there's Pearson. Wide up and goes inside to Green, laid it in. Beautiful pass from Jay Shod to Kevante. Florence with the largest lead of the day at 13-8. They'll pick up full court again. Bringing up the floor will be Taylor. Gets it down and a dunk by Ricks on the other end as he got loose. Dave Ricks at 6-5, 6-6, finds it there. Ricks lost his footing as Green got by him. Now Burnett for three, no good. Rebound taken by Florence as Roy is shot blocked from behind by Ricks, who has his third blocked shot of the day. It'll stay with Florence, who lead it 13-10. Jones will come in for Green now. And Jones will inbound it for Florence. That's a 7-24 part of the first half. Oh, he had Roy, didn't see him. And now he gets it in the corner to Payne. Payne, back up top to Burnett. Burnett says, let's wait and see what we have here. Burnett says, let's go to the left and gets it to Roy. Roy, picked up by Taylor. Back to Burnett. Burnett at the NBA range won't take it there. Lost it, got it back into the lane. Floater up, missed it, no good. Roy couldn't get the rebound, and it goes to Powell of Austin. Wasn't a bad look all around. But here come the Black Bears with a chance to tie it up with a three. Taylor has it. Lob it inside to Ricks. The double comes. He kicks it back out. Here's the three-pointer on the way. Good. You can just sense it coming there. Timeout taken by Florence. We'll do the same. 6.47 to go in the first half. Falcon basketball returns in 30. Kevin Johnson with you on the call. And Florence is tied 13-0. Austin is on a three-game losing streak. They lost to Hartzell, James Clemens, and Bob Jones. Right now they have the Falcons tied back door, cut inside the pain, kicked it back out as you've got double teams swinging around. Roy for three, short, no good. Might have been partially blocked and rebound taken by Taylor. Pushes, they want to run the floor. He got away with a walk to Taylor, gets it back to Ricks and put it in. That was a bad travel, no call. But Ricks starting to use his size, and the Black Bears have gone on a 7-0 run. They lead it 15-13. Pearson hands it off to Roy, comes back to the other side. They switch on the defense. Jones has it, Skipworth has it, excuse me. Now Jones has it in the corner. Hands it off, three on the way by Pearson's good. Jay Shod drains the three. 16-15, Florence takes the lead as we seesaw back and forth. Powell of Austin hands it off to Taylor. Taylor picked up there by Pearson. Pearson's picked his pocket once or twice. They get it to Horton, who's the three-point specialist. He's small, but he can shoot it. Not a tremendous ball handler. Goes in the corner. Driving the lane, off the basket, put it in. That's a good play by R.J. Wright. He was very under control there. And Austin leads it 17-16 in Florence. Nearly threw it away, but what a save by Roy. Back to Pearson. Pearson got the screen from Roy. They're going to call a moving screen. That's a ticky-tack foul there. It could be called, but there's a lot more happening in the past 12 minutes. Green will come in for Florence. Swoops will come in. Tie Swoops will come in for the Austin Black Bears. And as my friend and sideline colleague Jeffrey Jones often says, you never want to see a Swoops. Ball knocked away from Horton. Saved, though, by R.J. Wright of Austin. Wright gets the screen, and there's the moving screen. So, we got it back because Dylan Burleson worked that on one end. He said, okay, it's been happening down here. And sure enough, Staten gets called for the moving screen. His first team foul. First team foul in the quarter for Austin as well. Florence down by one, 17-16. We'll have the basketball. They'll run the horn set. Pearson gets everybody set up. Got it to green on the right side, out top. Picked out by Ricks. Now he'll try to back Ricks down. Use the big body. Goes up. Put it up. Blocked by Ricks. Saved. But goes out of bounds. We'll go back to Florence. Not a bad job by Green to come and try to back him down. And now the officials are looking for something on the floor, like they feel like something's rolled on the floor. Not sure what it is. Are they ready now? This official is all messed up. He doesn't know which end to be on. They are a crew that right now, they're having to signal where everybody goes. Just to be honest, Green has it on the box. Back out to Payne for three. Wouldn't go. Rebound by Florence. Look, kicked it back out. Another three on the way. That one in and out wouldn't fall for Jones. And rebound taken by Austin. Black Bears will bring it up to the floor. Wright has it. Payne on him. Picks up his dribble. Gives it to Ricks. Ricks got away with a travel again. And another one, step back jumper from long. No good. Got his own rebound. And they say a foul called and the right call there. And Skipworth got him on the arm. And that may be three on Skipworth. And it is. And to the line, shooting two will be Ricks trying to extend this 17-16 lead for Austin. The Black Bears wearing the home white. First free throw is good. Ricks is a good-looking player, obviously. We've seen him over the years. Roy Burnett and Burski for the first time will come in to join Payne and Pearson. 18-16. Second free throw on the way. Rattled that one home. Three-point lead. Payne pushes up the floor to Burski. Burski back to Payne. In front court. Got the screen. Good job by Burski. But the ball is knocked away from behind by Ricks. It will stay with Florence. So now, Austin running and jumping a little bit on the double, especially with Payne. Black Bears, excuse me, flat foul against the inbound. Get it to Pearson in the corner. Pearson guarded by Swopes. Back out to Roy. Three on the way. Would not fall. And Ricks just too tall for everyone. Goes up and gets the rebound. He's not 6'5", but he plays bigger than that. Nobody stopped. The ball goes up and missed the shot, though. And Roy got the rebound. And smartly got rid of it as he was being pushed down. Pearson will get it and bring it up the floor. Between the legs dribble. Behind the back dribble. Between the legs again. Now he gets down on the post. Good job right now on the post. Shot put up. Won't go. Burski got the rebound. Goes back up with it. No good. Roy couldn't get it. And rebound taken down finally by Swopes. That wasn't a bad look by three Falcons, but none of it would go. And Dylan Burleson said, hey, I'll take that any day. Ricks has it. Trying to back up on Burski. Shot to Luke Strong. No good. Rebound taken, though, by Statton. Back to Ricks in the corner. Swings it back up top. So Austin gets another chance. Wright has it. Now to Ricks. Back to Wright. Lost it. Going out of bounds. And a last touch by Pearson. So right now, the big men for Austin doing a pretty good job of hitting the cutters of the guards cutting. But Florence a little undersized against the 6-5 and 6-6. Well, I call it 6-5, 6-6, Statton, and Ricks. And they run the box hit. Get ready for the lob here. And got it right into Statton and laid it in. Boy, Dylan Burleson would call a timeout if he could. But he's so mad right now, nobody boxed that out. He could see it coming and it still wasn't defended. Five-point lead for Austin. Payne will try to cut it down. He can't get the three to go. But Roy gets the rebound. Roy from eight feet. Got it. Needed that one. Falcons desperately needed that one to stop the run and cut it down to three. And they'll pick up full court. Pearson will move Taylor. Oh, he went for the steal. Almost got it. But Taylor chases it down. Now they throw it inside to Ricks. Ricks pulled back from 10 and got it. That's a little fadeaway jumper. That's pretty tough. Give the assist to Wright on that one. Deep three for Florence. Won't go again. That one's from Burnett. Rebound chased down by the Black Bears. Wright wanted to get it down the floor and does. Swopes a deep three. That one in and out, no good. And a great job by Payne, who tipped the rebound to a teammate. There was no way he could get it. But he tipped it away from two Black Bears. It won't show up on the books. But that was a great play by Payne. Payne in the corner. Out to Burnett. Burnett cross court. Skip past to Roy. Got to the lane. Put up with a left-hand block, though. A lot of contact. But it'll go back to Austin. Black Bears bringing up the floor. Wright in the paint. Nobody stopped him. But a great job by Roy blocking it. Down the floor to Pearson. Pearson in the mix of trees. One on three. Says, nope, let's pull it back. The senior guard says, we're down by five. Let's get a good shot at the two-minute mark. Got the screen up. Kicks it over to Payne. Payne hasn't hit a three yet, I don't believe. Drives in the lane. Floater up. Won't go. Tip the rebound around. Taken by the Black Bears. Florence going cold in quarter two. Timeout taken by the Black Bears. Both teams looking for shots. Can't find it. But the Black Bears lead the Falcons 23-18. Florence basketball back in 30. Getting the kids to practice on time. Remembering if it's your day to bring snacks. Making it to the game with a clean jersey. Why are simple things sometimes so complicated? Thankfully, with auto owners, insurance doesn't have to be one of them. That's simple human sense. In Florence, see Luke Brown at Henniger Johnson & Layton Insurance. Call 256-764-8682. 1.52 to go in the first half. And Austin has battled back from trailing 11-8 at the end of the first quarter to lead 23-18. Austin's Caden Ricks has eight points in this quarter alone. And outscored the Falcons 15-7 here in the second quarter. Austin with the basketball. Payne picks up at the midcourt stripe. Need a little help there. Deep pull up. No good. Rebound taken by Florence. It's right. Couldn't get that one to fall. Payne will bring it up the floor now. Hounded. Double team. Gets rid of it. And finally a foul is called as Ricks got him there. Second team foul on Austin. Don't expect the Falcons to get too many free throw opportunities on the road. Fulmer in the game for Florence now. Payne back to Pearson at the top of the key. Austin stays man-to-man. Payne, good luck on this one. Three on the way. Still won't go. Man, that shot just not falling right now. You can see the frustration. Down the floor come the Black Bears. They slow it up at the midcourt strike. Ricks has it now to right. Picked up by Payne. And he'll run the point. 1-12 to go in the first half. Swopes has it to Ricks. Ricks looks to back down his defender there. The double comes from Fulmer. A deep three at the top of the key. A short. No good. They're taken by Hampton. A rebound taken by Florence. Payne to Roy in the corner. Pearson drives. Back out to Roy. He's got a good look for three. No good. Rebound taken by Austin. That's both teams just struggling right now. Wright. We'll walk it across the midcourt strike. 23-18. Going to have to grind it out for both teams. If Florence could ever get their shots to fall, they'd be in good shape. Swopes has it. Picked up by Roy. They get it now to Statton. They go for the double team. They get it inside to Ricks. He lost it out of bounds. That should go back to Florence. And they will. That's the right call. He lost it. And they were. One official was waiting for him to say it'll be Austin's ball. But he absolutely lost it off his knee. And so Florence will have it down by five and a chance to play for the last shot here in the first half. Dylan Burleson calling the play. Pearson will bring it across the midcourt strike. Slowly gets it there with 15. He breaks the count now. Bounce pass to Payne. Actually, that's Jones with it. Excuse me. Jones looking. Hands it off to Payne. Payne has it. Step back. Can't get the shot to Fulmer. Back to Payne. Three on the way. Won't go. Rebound tip. No good. Rebound by Austin. And that'll do it for one half. And that'll do it for one half. It wasn't pretty for either team. Both teams struggling from the line or from the two-point and three-point land. But Austin has a 23-18 lead over the Florence Falcons here tonight at the home of the Black Bears. If you're listening to Florence Falcon basketball, we're back in two minutes. Back here at the TNT Fireworks Halftime Show, Kevin Johnson with you, voice of the Florence Falcons, where Florence trails Austin 23-18 here at the end of the first half. Florence has five points from Taylin Jones, five points from Jay Shot Pearson, two from Tamari and Skipworth, two from Cage Roy, two from Zy Burnett, and two for Kevante Green. So Florence has six players have scored, but they only scored seven points in the second quarter after leading it 11-8. They trail it now, 23-18. Meanwhile, the Black Bears have four from R.J. Wright, two from Jermichael Taylor, six for Timothy Statton, and eight, which all came in the second quarter for Caden Ricks. So Statton and Ricks, the two post players at 6'5 and 6'6 have 14 of the 23 points for the Black Bears. And three points also came from Caden Horton. The Black Bears only hit one three-pointer in the game. Florence has only hit two. One came from Pearson. The first shot of the game for Florence came from Tay Jones, who hit a three, I believe it was. So that's where Florence has missed a lot of threes. It's not been good, but neither has Austin. So it's a cold night outside coming. And the cold front might have got here a little early for both these teams. So which team can come out with a hot hand? Could be the difference in this one. By the way, we'll keep you updated, obviously. You're on 93.9, the score of any changes on the Florence basketball schedule due to weather. We don't know what it's going to do. Nobody does. But their next schedule game is Tuesday on the road at Benson Valley. Earlier tonight, the Florence women, the ladies won. So a great job there by them. So they're celebrating tonight and sitting in a pretty good spot going into area tournament play. And the winner of this game in the men's division will avoid playing the top seed, whoever that is, in the area. And you really don't want to play that top seed because that's a home game for the top seed. And you're going to have to go and beat them on their home floor. So that's not easy. I'll promise you that. So it's a lot on the line for both Austin and Florence. Both teams back out on the floor warming up. Let's sneak in another 30-second timeout. You're listening to Florence Falcon basketball. Third quarter action is coming up after this 30-second message. Florence Utilities offers several ways to view and pay your utility bill. I want to say, having said something in there, congratulations to Jimmy Shaw, the superintendent for Florence City Schools, for many years on his retirement. We appreciate Dr. Shaw and all that he has done over the years. And well wishes to him. That is for sure moving forward. Also, I want to say thank you to all the first responders who will be out there this weekend, especially in the Scholes area, in this ice storm warning. We are thinking about you and hope that you do well and are safe as well. And Austin will have the basketball going right to left, as you listen to it. That will be going to my left, as you listen to us, towards the Austin bench, toward the student section here at Austin High School. Florence will have Payne, Pearson, Green, Roy, and Jones on the floor. And Florence will open up man-to-man. And now motion offense for the Black Bears. They're going to look to get it to Rick, who tries to drive. Free throw jumper on the way. Too strong, no good. Good box out by Florence. But Green started dribbling. He shouldn't do that. Ball on the floor. Fought for it. Saved by Austin. Kicking in the corner. Three by right. No good. Rebound chased down. Out of bounds. Last touch by Austin. Pearson had it. Had it knocked away. It'll go back to the Falcons. Not bad that you get the basketball rebounds, but get it to those guards when you do. Especially in traffic. So, Pearson will bring it up the floor for Florence. Going left to right in the black uniforms. Blue numbers. Blue trim. White piping around everything so you can see it well. Roy against the man-to-man defense. To Payne. No three yet. Still can't get it to fall. Had a good look. Would not go. Rick's hesitation. Lost it on the floor. Saved by Payne. Actually, that's Jones with it. Down to Pearson. Boy, he had Payne open. Couldn't get it to him. Pearson picks up the dribble. Now to Jones in the baseline. Jones has a smaller player on him. Turn. Put it up. Short. No good. Boy, the Florence missed a great opportunity for a basket there. And now numbers for Austin. But Florence finally gets back. 23-18. Florence trails by five. Deep three by Taylor. It's good. So, finally, a three falls. And it falls for the wrong team. The Black Bears extend the lead out to eight. Pearson on the wing. Drives into the paint. Got a good look. Can't get the shot up, though. Kicks it back out to Payne. Payne goes to Roy. In the baseline shot. Block from behind. Block was great by Statton. He got it from behind. And turnover goes back to Austin. Driving the lane. Ricks out of control. Missed the shot. Rebound by Florence. Push it. They will. Pearson has a two-on-one. Here's the lob possibly. Nope. He got it to Green. Layed it up. Put it in. Had to wait on it for a second. Green wanted the lob. Couldn't get it to him. But Florence trims the lead down to six. Both teams look a little leg-weary. Just realize that a little bit. Ricks three on the way. Short. No good. Rebound by Green. Both teams played on Tuesday. And they're not used to maybe playing two days behind like that. Jones catches it deep. Kicks it back out. Green at the free throw line. Had it stripped away. Got it back in the paint. Kicked it out. Jones open. Three from the corner. He wouldn't go. Rebound Florence. Roy gets another chance. Payne open. Still shooting threes. Still missing threes. Won't go. And finally a foul on Florence over the back on Roy. Jaceon hadn't had a game like this all year where he just couldn't find it. But shooters continue to shoot. And I like the confidence that staff has. And they know if he gets hot, he can light it up for 15 and a quarter. But right now, it's just not falling. He's getting good looks. Down by six, Florence. Austin will have to go 94 feet. And Florence will pick up full court. Stanton gets it in to Taylor, who's picked up by Fulmer, who just checked into the game. Taylor will bring it across the mid-court strike. Almost walked. No call. Got it to Ricks. He'll shoot it from 15. No good. And a foul called. And they're going to say a push-off inside on Florence on Payne. Well, Jaceon did not. But it was a pretty weak call. I'll say that. Look, the inbounds. Again, it goes to Stanton, who's on the post. But he can't get the shot up and has to come back out with a better defense there. Florence trails by six. Taylor trying to take Fulmer. Can't do it. Kicks it back out. Wright has it. Boy, what a great defense by Skipworth. Horton can't get the three off. Now they go to Ricks on the post. There's the double. Good double. Ricks forced it up. Missed it. Rebound by Florence. Great defense there by Burnett and Pearson with help. Pearson down the right sideline. Has a double team on him. Pulls up from 15. Wouldn't go. Rebound by Austin. Wright. Excuse me. Taylor has it. Now he gets it to Wright. Both teams just a little tired, it looks like to me. Once again, in the lane. Wright missed the shot. Got his own rebound back. Lost it. Got it back. Put it in. 28-20. Eight-point lead. Which team can grid it out here? 4-22 to go. And Florence wants a timeout. We'll do the same. Florence down by eight. We're back in 60. This is Falcon basketball. Thanks for choosing Whataburger. What can I get started for you? Decatur. The Shoals. 93-9. The score. 4-21 to go in the third. And Florence down by eight. Dylan Burleson trying to find something to spark his team a little bit. Not sure why the officials stopped to talk to the players there. Nothing was going on. From the sideline, Florence inbound it. Skipworth will have it. Handed off to Payne. Payne double teamed on the sideline. Has to hold it. Picked it up. Stepped through it. Got it to the baseline. On the baseline, Burnett put it up and it's fouled by Riggs. That's probably the first foul on Riggs. And that's the job by Burnett to draw the foul. They called it actually on R.J. Wright, who was nowhere around, I didn't think, Burnett. But it'll still be free throws for Florence and the first one no good. Burnett, one thing he's got to do, he's a freshman. He's such an anxious player. Just slow down at the free throw line a little bit. Take a deep breath. Take an extra dribble. He did right there. His dribble slowed down. He slowed down his rhythm. Let's see what happens. Nothing but net. He rushed the first free throw. He slowed the second one down. One of two. Need every point tonight you can get. Down by seven is Florence. 28-21 at the four-minute mark in the third quarter. Florence will pick up full court. Wright will be picked up a pain as he gets in the corner there in the middle of the court. Front court down. Down to Riggs on the post. Trying to post up. Kicks it back out. Horton will take a deep three at the top of the key. No good. Rebound taken inside though by Black Bears. And they let. Taylor come in and yanked down the rebound like he was a 6'7 player. Only about six foot tall. That's not good. Nine-point lead. Skipworth to Pearson. To Burnett. And Pearson lost it. Almost picked it up. Take care of the basketball. Just not the same Falcon team I've seen. But Burnett split the double team. Went up. Laid it in. Nice job by Burnett. He's starting to find something now. Lead us down to seven. Wright comes down. Up and under. Put it up. Good. Nobody picked up the basketball. Too easy. Fulmer. In the paint. Back up top. Swings it. That's Skipworth. A runner. Got it. Good job of Skipworth. So, Florence now with three trips and three baskets. Cut it to seven. But they got to play defense. Horton comes down. Puts up a shot and is fouled. Not getting back on defense. Not running the floor well right now. And I'm not sure if it's just dead legs or what. But both teams look a little just out of it. The foul will be on Burnett. The foul will be on Burnett. His second foul. Team's third. Only one team on foul on Austin in this quarter. Matter of fact, I think Austin's only committed four fouls in the game. Free throw's coming. That one's no good for Caden Horton. Florence will send in Jones and Roy. Austin will send in Kingston Powell. 2.50 to go. Florence down by seven. Second free throw coming for the Black Bears. That one spins in. So, Horton gets the free throw. Pearson open for three. Had a good look. That looked like it was going to go. It's right in front of me. But it's in and out. No good. And rebound taken down by Taylor of Austin. Florence down by eight. That would have been a big shot there. Right to the lane. Layup. Put up too strong. No good. Rebound by Florence. No foul. Called. The pain gets it. Pearson down the floor. Surveys traffic to Roy. Goes baseline. Goes up with it. Wouldn't go. Got the rebound. Tipped it over to a teammate. No foul. Call taken away by Austin. That one goes out of bounds. Last touch by Austin. Right call. Pearson. Pretended like he was going to go in the lane. The Austin player backed away. And it hits the sideline. And it goes back to Florence. This court is a beautiful facility. But it's a lot more opening. A lot of space on the sidelines. A lot of space in the end zone especially. And both teams really not shooting the ball well. Just to be honest about it. Florence gets the basketball. Pearson. Behind the back dribble. Got by Horton. Step back. Eight footer. Won't go. Just will not fall. Ricks got the rebound. Frustrating night for the Florence Falcons. Ricks wanting to pull up for three. That one's up. No good. Rebound by Florence. Which team can play team ball right now? It's a lot of individual ball being played. Payne goes back. Puts it up off the glass. No good. Rebound tipped around on the floor. Picked up by Ricks. They have a run out. Down to Taylor. He's all by himself. Lays it up. Put it in. Ten point lead. The largest of the day. Taylor. I've got him with seven in the quarter. Florence takes a timeout. We'll do the same. Falcon basketball returns in 30 seconds. Have you ever seen those halftime scholarships where you have to nail a 40-yard field goal? Yeah, this isn't that. They only have scored seven points in the second quarter. And with 1.36 to go in the third, Florence has only scored seven points in the third quarter. Jason Yon Payne yet to score. He has had some good looks. He just hadn't fallen for him. And, hey, that happens. Some shooters have those nights. Right now, he'll get a breather. Might just give him a chance to catch his breath. Pearson. Yo-yos with it up top. Now to the free throw line. Trying to back down Horton. Can't do it. Back up top. Gets rid of it. Back to Pearson. They now go inside to Roy. He's got a look. Put it up. Wouldn't go. Had a good look from three. Put up by Burnett. Blocked out. Taken by Florence again. Jones put up a runner and got it to go. Taye Jones, that ball knocked out of bounds. But it might be a warning on delay of game. I think it's what Roy hit the ball. So, they're going to call a delay of game warning. And the officials now trying to figure out where to get in position again. They inbound it. Get it to Taylor. There's Austin. Down by eight are the Falcons with 105 to go. Taylor will bring it up to the right sideline. Guarded by Burnett. And across the midcourt strike. Coach Phillips to Austin says run the play. They run the horn set up high. Look to get it up top. Howell come back to the left. They go inside to Riggs. He's on the box. Good double team there. Good help. They swing it the other way. Horton's three. High arcing shot. No good. Rebound. And went to the. They're going to call a foul on that. On Roy for having the jump ball. So, fourth team foul on Florence. One team foul on Austin in the quarter. Inbound pass comes to Riggs in the corner. Double team. And he's trapped. Now the Falcons let him out of it. He's going to try to back down green. Pull back from 17 feet. No good. Rebound tipped up. And it's going to be another foul called on Florence. And that's pitiful right there. That's pitiful. There's no way. I know it's not been a good night. Dillon Burleson all the way to the edge. Saying, please, can you explain to me how that's a foul on Pearson? And the official will come and talk to him. Dillon Burleson says, let's talk about total fouls. I know what he's talking about now. This is the second road game in a row this has happened. Free throw's coming for the Black Bears. Good free throw. They actually do not have Falcons shooting a free throw in this game. They have not shot one free throw. As Taylor hits the first. Missed the second. And boy, the Black Bears pushed off something fierce on the inside, but knocked out of bounds. It'll stay with Florence. Frustrating for the Falcons. It's on the road. It's going to happen. But you're not shooting well. And then you add that on. It's a frustrating night all around. And Dillon Burleson is trying to find something to make it happen. Get in finally to Pearson. He's double teamed in backcourt. Now he's split around the double team and bringing it up against the man-to-man defense. Picked up by Horton now. Florence will set it and may run for the last shot. Down 36-27. Wouldn't be bad to hit a three here. Can get a two for one and she'll have the ball. Burnett has it with eight. Back up top. Swing it around to Pearson. Pearson with four now. Step through. Back to Green. He'll try the three. Wouldn't go. And the tip won't go. And it's just not been the Falcons' night. They trail it 36-27 after three. Falcon basketball back in 60 seconds. They have not shot the ball well tonight at all. Neither has the Black Bears, but the Falcons have been ice cold, to say the least. Have yet to shoot a free throw that I have on the books. I've double-checked and I don't see one. I take it back. Zy Burnett shot two free throws and made one, so I apologize for that. 36-27. Florence will have the basketball to start the third quarter. Pearson to Skipworth. Now to Jones on the post. Jones has the man, but he kicked it back out to Green. Green drives hard at the basket. Laid it up, put it in. So we'll take that there as Green, Kevante, has six on the night and trims the lead to seven. Black Bears right has it, front court. Falcons playing man-to-man. Skipworth with guard right. Now Powell gets it. They run the three-guard play. Powell has it. Picked up there by Jones. Riggs pull up from 17. No good. Rebound taken by Florence. Payne gets it there. Payne pushes down the floor. Got it to Pearson, to Green. Back to Pearson. Pearson was, oh, couldn't take the three. Back to Payne. Drives. I love it. In the lane to Pearson. He's open. Three-ball corner pocket. Would not go. Tipped out to Payne. He put it up. That goes. That's a good thing. Jaceon's first basket of the night. Trims it to five. 36-31. Maybe the Falcons can get hot at the right time. You see the energy from the coaches. Florence said, don't give up. Riggs trying to post up good hedge right there. He can't do it. He gets it back outside the three-point arc. Takes it down to the baseline. Good hedge again on the defense. Gets it out to Taylor. Swings it to Horton. Great job by Pearson on Horton. Now they go to Powell. Down they get it to Riggs on the baseline. He's double, tripled. Doesn't matter. Put it up. Missed it. Tipped it up and put it in. The size was the key. Florence trying to run out on the other end to Green. Had it blocked from behind. Taylor got it. That was a clean block. But they're going to say he stepped on the end line. They go back to Florence. Coach Bill and Ben Mullins, assistant coach, says go up and just lay it high off the board. He's trying to shoot it off the glass instead of lay it off the glass. Florence to inbound it. Down by seven. Up top to Payne. Payne picked up here. Got a screen. Gets the switch. Boy, he got hit. Foul. No call. Now he spins. Puts up a 15-footer. Got another one to go. Watch out. Number one. Hadn't hit anything. He's hit two 15-footers. The lead back down to five as we approach the six-minute mark. Black Bears basketball. They'll bring it up the floor. Taylor yo-yos with it. Goes to Powell. Powell, a role player off the bench. Doesn't want there. Wants to get rid of it. Boy, I'd pressure him. Now they get it to Taylor. He's a good player. Put it up and put it in. And he's fouled. He used his body. Shield the defender. That's the right call. That was a foul on Jones. Dylan Burleson still not happy. But he's got his hands behind his back. He wanted the foul to be on the floor before that. Thought he had a continuation. I think that's what he's asking for. Or asking why he got it. Taylor to shoot the free throw. Makes the three-point play. Lawrence down by eight again with 544 to go. Payne drives. Pull back. Lost it going up. Shot it anyway. No good. Rebound tipped out of bounds. Says still out of bounds. And Austin catches it. And finally, the official says, you know, you can't catch it out of bounds. It's Florence basketball with 535 to go. Braceon got that up in the air. And he just hadn't handled the ball well. I'm not sure if it's a different basketball brand or what. But the Falcons just have not done as well with this tonight. Payne drives. Nowhere to go. Steps through it. Put it up. Put it in. He's starting to take over a little bit on the offensive end. Now can the Falcons get a defensive stop? They'll pick up full court. And Ricks will bring it up the floor. Jones will pick up Ricks. Jones to Taylor on the wing. Picked up by Pearson. He tries to move on Pearson. Lost it. Had to pick up the dribble. Looking. Nowhere to go with it. Looking. Looking. Still in trouble. Timeout taken by Austin. Good defense by Florence. 526 to go. Timeout on the floor. We're back in 30 seconds. We want to wish Coach Burleson and the entire Falcon basketball team good luck this season. 526 to go in regulation. Florence trails by 6, 41-35. It will be Austin basketball. Florence led it early 11-8 in the first quarter. But ever since Austin took the lead in the second quarter, they haven't relinquished it. They led it 23-18 at halftime. Led it by 9 at the end of 3. Florence has chipped away a little bit as Jaceon Payne has six points here in the fourth quarter in the first two and a half minutes after not scoring at all in three quarters. Florence down by six. They're going to have to get some stops, some rebounds, and try to limit the second chance opportunities for Austin. It'll be Jones, Roy, Green, Payne, and Pearson on the floor for Florence. On the sideline will be Wright to inbound for Austin wearing their home white uniforms trimmed and orange. They'll get it in to Horton at the midcourt stripe. Florence runs for a double. Got him trapped, but he gets rid of it to Wright. Now to Taylor, Florence running and trapping a little bit. Got a right, got a lane, put it up, and it's fouled, they say, by Jones. So Florence went for the trap, missed it, attacked by Wright, who R.J. Wright is a smart player. He went to the left hand, drew minimal contact, and go and shoot free throws, and Jones just picked up his fourth. He might bring the freshman back in now. Free throw by Wright is good. Jones will step out. Jones will step out. Wright will step in. That's the eighth made free throw of the night for the Black Bears. Missed that one. Rebound tipped around, and they're going to give it back to Austin. Two Falcon players tipped around, couldn't bring it down. There was a couple of Black Bears on the back, but no call. Lobbed it up top to Taylor. They lead it by seven to the Black Bears and have the basketball at the 5-10 mark. Burnett will pick up Taylor. Taylor nearly stolen away and is by Green. Green's got a run out. Goes up, laid it up. Got it to go. Kevontae Green with his eighth point. Trims the lead to five, and this could be the play. Florence bench starting to get into it. Down the floor, Wright. Green's got him right now. That's not a good look. Kevontae's looking for a switch. Can't get it. Wright got what he wants. Kevontae's having to give him some room. Now a good switch. Good help there. Goes in. Blocked by Burnett. A foul call. And oh my goodness gracious. That is horrible. That was you. The Florence crowd there is oohing and aahing going. You've got to be kidding. That was all ball. The opponent knew it as well. Dylan Burleson stayed right in this box. And free throws again for the Black Bears. Free throw coming. Rolled it in. Dylan Burleson got his say in. Probably didn't help a whole lot. Staten will come back in. So you've got the twin towers in for Austin at 6'5", 6'6", something like that. Second free throw by Wright. Missed that one. Rebound by Payne. Six-point game. Austin leads. Payne down the floor. Double team. Triple team. In the lane. Put it up. And it calls steps. Oh, my goodness gracious. They called a walk across the way. And negated a basket. Quickly down the floor. They lob the ricks. And he dunks it. Missed it. Put it back up. Put it in. He missed the dunk on one side. Hung on the rim. Got it back. Florence quickly down the floor. Payne goes through the basket. And that should be a block and foul. Let's see. They're going to. Officials come together and they're going to call a charge. And the Florence bench just laughs. The fans just laugh. An eight-point lead. Payne's second foul. And Dylan Burleson will call timeout to calm everybody down. Eight-point lead. 4'11 to go. This is Falcon Basketball. Florence. Basketball returns in 60. Hey, Falcon fans. You're home for Florence Falcons basketball. The Falcons traded by 8-45-37. Austin will have the basketball. Falcons will pick up full court. You want to know the story in the game, just to be honest, Falcons haven't shot it well, and Florence has committed 17 fouls in this game, and Austin's only committed four. We are on the road indicator. Wright has it. Picked up by Roy. Still dribbling. Breaks the count finally. Now they go inside, and Ricks is double-teamed. Scooped past, knocked away, and stolen away by Florence. Balled on the floor, taken away by the Black Bears, and they call a timeout. That one got away from Florence. Timeout on the floor. We'll do the same. We're back in 30. This is Falcons basketball. At North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic, our Shoals roots run deep. Learn more at nabjc.com. 3.43 left on the clock. Florence down by eight, and we'll have to play defense. Austin will have the basketball. Taylor will inbound it. Florence will have Pearson, Payne, Skipworth, Burnett, Roy on the floor. They try to lob it to Ricks, and a good job by Burnett, who knocked it away, and the last touch by Ricks. Burnett is such a leaper. He's going to be special as a freshman. Florence will get it in to Payne. Payne pushes up the floor. Caught by Pearson on the wing. Pearson thought about driving on stat and still keeps it alive. Got it to Payne for three. Wouldn't go. That was a good look. Rebound, skipped around. Oh, it just cannot come into the hands. Two Falcons had it. It just bounced around and went right to the Black Bears. 3.25 to go. Black Bears with the eight-point lead in the basketball. Taylor lost it out of bounds, poked out of bounds by Burnett. Jones will come back into the game. He has four fouls. Skipworth will come out. 3.17 to go, and Dylan Burleson doing anything he can to try to find a spark. Taylor lobs it up to Ricks at the top of the key. Ricks wants to spin. Pulls back for three. Good. Hadn't hit one all night, and finally he drains one, and probably the one we don't need him to drain of all night. He drains that three there, and the lead is up to 11. Payne from 15. Short missed that one, and it goes out of bounds. Just not Jaceon's night. 2.59 to go. Dylan Burleson still coaching hard, getting the press to go. They try to throw the baseball pass. Ricks caught it. He's got a step. Goes up and jams it on with one hand. Ricks is being unstoppable. Florence down the way. Put it up with Payne. Missed it. Roy got the rebound, and a foul is called on the Austin Black Bears, and a little Brock's cheer from a couple of Florence fans here. That's the first team foul in this quarter for the Austin Black Bears at the 247 mark, their fifth team foul of the game. Free throw is for Roy. Roll that one in. Second free throw coming for Cage Roy. Got that one to go. Skipworth will check back in for Burnett, it looks like. He gets high-fives all around. 247 to go, 50 to 39. Florence picks up full court. Ricks in back court. It's double-teamed. He throws over because he can see over it. Horton has it. Now, out of bounds. Defense forced him that way, and he stepped on the base sideline. Back to Florence. Should have been a foul called on Florence there. No lie. 241 to go. We'll take it. Down by 11. Pearson will have it. Got to hit some twos. Got to hit some threes as well. Up top. Skipworth skips it around to Jones. Jones. Top to Payne. Take the three. Put it up. Hit it. He was fouled and got the call because Dylan Burleson almost came off the bench to say, I'll call it if you don't. It was after the ball went through the nets that the official said he fouled him. And he'll try to complete the four-point play. That's huge. He has nine. This will make ten. He didn't score any until the fourth quarter. Free throw up. Got it. Kevante Green will come into the game. Florence will change their press up now. Don't want to let the run-outs happen. That's for sure. That's the biggest thing. And they finally get it in to Horton. Horton in backcourt. Florence down by seven with 229 to go. Pearson forcing him to go left and right. Here's the double. Oh, he got away with a walk. No call. Unbelievable. Dylan Burleson almost ran out on the mid-court strike. The lob up to Riggs. He missed the dunk. Out of bounds. They'll go back to Florence. Trying to get a little fancy there. 223 to go. A seven-point game. And I think they're going to change the clock and add some time. It's at 221, 220. It's officials right here. He is talking to the clock operator. It's 217 on the clock. He was talking to the clock operator. The other official inbounds it. This shows you what I'm trying to say of this crew tonight. It's not being the sharpest, in my opinion. One official was at the clock operator. The other one. And they never added time. They just said, all right, let's go back and play. Florence will have the basketball. Pearson had it knocked away by Riggs. Stolen away. Lobs it down to right. He goes up and laid it up. Missed the layup. Put back. Won't go. Rebound. Tipped around. And four white jerseys. Tip it out and get it. Florence had a chance there. Right. Double team. Oh, my goodness. That was all ball by Payne. And he called a foul. Jayceon runs to the other side of the court. He knew he had all ball. Free throws coming for the rest of the game for the Black Bears with 155 to go. And it's right to shoot two. Wright's free throw is good. Let's be honest. The Falcons have not played well tonight. They haven't shot it well tonight. That's for sure. And when you can't score, your shot's not falling. That's tough. But they've not stopped battling. Dillon Burleson's teams will not do that. Second free throw hits all rim and fouls through two for Wright. Nine-point lead. Falcons is going to have to hit some threes now. Pearson drives into the paint. Double team. Nowhere to go with it. Back out to Roy. Timeout taken by Dillon Burleson. Last timeout he has. We'll take the same. We're back in 60. This is Falcon basketball. Florence Utilities now offers new bill pay options. Sign up for paperless, auto pay, text pay, and more to make your life easier. Back here at Austin High School. 1.44 to go. 1.44 to go. Florence down by 9. This hasn't been the Falcons tonight. Let's say again a big thank you to the assistant principal here, Mr. Carpenter, Austin High School. Such a kind man. He comes and helps us get everything set up. And I was running a little late tonight getting here and he said, I got you covered. I got the table and chair and appreciate them. The good hospitality here at Austin High School. So, Florence will have the basketball down by 9 with 1.44 to go and Dylan Burleson has no more timeouts. That could be a factor too if you were to make a run. So, Roy, Pearson, Payne, Skipworth, and Jones for the Falcons. They get it to Payne in the corner. Can't get the three. Back to Skipworth in the paint. Threw it away. Too much mustard on that one. Turnover goes back to Austin. Unselfish basketball but couldn't get it there. Black Bear's having trouble getting in and finally due to Wright. Wright was fouled three times. They won't call it. They lob it up. Riggs went and got it. Couldn't do it. Now he's trapped with it. Put it up and he's fouled and they called the shot and made the free throw. Made the two-pointer. Skipworth would get the foul and that'll do it. With 1.31 to go, the Black Bear's behind Mr. Wright in his size. As he hits the free throw. That's 12 in this quarter for him. And the Black Bear's leading by 12. Payne, Euro step, layup, good for Florence. Falcons have no timeouts. Run out trying to get it out to Staten. He lost it, got away with the walk, put it up anyway and put it in. And if I'm a foul call now, if somebody goes to the basket for Florence, I had my vision blocked. It was Jones with two free throws coming. So, Jones will shoot two, down by 12 with 109 to go. As I said, this Falcon team just has not hit shots tonight. That's a big part of it. First free throw, went halfway down and came out. Taylor just shakes his head. Burnett, get ready to check back in. Second free throw, got that one to go. One of two, trims it to 11. Skipworth will come out. Inbounds pass to Horton. He can't dribble. He's double teamed in the corner. He's really trapped. And a timeout taken by Austin. We'll do the same. 57-46. The Black Bears lead the Falcons. We're back in 60 seconds. When you're in the mood for a sweet treat just the way you like it, Yogurt Mountain on Cox Creek Parkway has you covered. They lead it by 11, and they'll have the basketball. They get it into Horton in the backcourt. Pearson trying to force the turnover. Right now, double-team. Great job of the Falcons making the pressure happen. Taylor gets it across the middle of the court. Strike foul by Burnett. That was not bad defense by Florence, and probably a couple of travel calls were missed. 55.6 on the clock. Free throws coming from Taylor. He knocks the first one down. Second free throw coming. Got that one to go. The lead extends to 13, so Florence will end up number four in the area when it comes to area tournament time. Pearson jumper is good. Pearson knocks that one down. Austin tries to get up the floor and does to Taylor. Taylor slows it down, dribbles through the Falcons. Falcons come up in a foul. Taylor with 35.2, down by 11. Dylan Burlson does not quit. We'll take it down to the wire. Within reason, for sure. First free throw, good by Taylor. Taylor has shot five free throws. He has seven free throws, and he hits seven. Make it eight free throws, and he hit eight. Alone. He's outshot the Falcons on the free throw line the whole game. Ball out of bounds. Back to Florence. Down by 13. This Falcons team, it wasn't an effort issue. The effort was there. The shots just would not fall. Lobby into Pearson. Pearson, top of the key. Can't get the shot off, and right when he threw the pass to Roy, Roy was cutting to the baseline. Pearson said, hey, that's my fault. That's okay. Pearson, the veteran guard, staying with it. Inbound pass comes to right. He gets it to Horton. Horton will come across the mid-court stripe, and it's fouled by Burnett. Some free throws coming again. Big news tomorrow. I believe the HSAA will release their classification of reclassification, and that's going to be a big deal, big news. And everyone on the edge of their seat about that one. 24.8 on the clock. Burnett will come out. He fouled out. Fulmer will come in. Horton will shoot free throws. And officials figuring out where to line up. Free throw on the way by Horton is good. He has five for the Black Bears. He'll lead it 62-48. Second free throw. Got that one to go. Down by 15. Florence cut it down to about six, but couldn't get any closer. Payne kicked over to Pearson. He'll take the three. It won't go. Tipped up and in that time by Roy. But no timeouts left. And Florence won't foul, I don't think. Stanton has it. And that'll do it. And the Black Bears will win it. They knock off the Falcons 63-50. Tough game for the Falcons tonight. We're back for the TNT fireworks postgame show. After this one-minute timeout. Thanks for choosing Whataburger. Back here at Austin High School, it wasn't the night for the Florence Falcons as Florence falls 63-50 to the Black Bears tonight here at Austin High School. So the team's regions will be set up. As the regions are set up, the number four seed will be the Falcons and the number three seed will be Austin. We're waiting who we'll be facing and where the area of the tournament will be played depending on the James Clemens and Bob Jones game. Let's get you final scores. Unofficially for the Austin Black Bears, one point for Tylan Swopes. R.J. Wright had 11-18 for Jemichael Taylor, eight for Timothy Statton, and 20 for Caden Riggs. Four points. Make that five points for Horton as well. For the Florence Falcons, Taylin Jones had eight, 12 for Jayceon Payne. Jayceon Pearson had seven, four for Tamari and Skipworth, six for Cage Roy, and five for Jay, excuse me, five for Zye Burnett, and eight for Kevante Green. The Falcons led it 11-8 after one, trailed by five at the half, trailed by nine at the end of three, and lose it by 13 on the road. And tonight, they just didn't shoot the ball well, didn't get a whole lot of breaks, and it was Austin that took over and Caden Riggs was the difference on the inside, scoring 20 points, along with Jemichael Taylor, 18, including eight from the free throw line. So Florence falls to Austin, 63-50, our next broadcast a week from Friday night as we go on the road to take on the Trojans of Muscle Shoals. Be safe out there with all the ice and snow. Thank you to our first responders again who will be keeping us safe. We appreciate you and hope that everyone will have a safe weekend and be careful through all the weather that's going on.
