Back here on the TMT Fireworks pregame show, Florence Falcons basketball, Kevin Johnson with you.
Joined by the head coach of the Florence Falcons, Coach Dylan Burleson and Coach, area play December.
Do you like to move up to have three games in December like this?
I definitely think it gives you somewhere as far as like a measuring stick for what you need to work on.
And that can be said for any game, but especially area games.
But it's good to get the juices flowing this early in the season.
Playing a really good Bob Jones team here tonight at home.
We need to come ready to play.
It is a good Bob Jones team, but what do you want to see out of your team tonight?
I want to see our guys guard the ball.
I don't think we guarded the ball well at all last Friday at James Clements.
I think we're way more capable of keeping the ball in front.
What we just talked about, guard your yard.
If we can guard our yard and keep the ball in front and not have to rely on so much help,
I think we can give them some fits and give them some trouble.
But I want to see our guys guard the ball tonight.
You have a lot of youth on this team, a lot of maybe inexperienced players coming out playing varsity.
Are they starting to find their footing a little bit now, you feel like?
I do.
I do.
And, you know, it is nine, ten games into this thing right now,
and I'm sure they'll be even farther along in nine or ten more games.
But them being able to find their footing, this is our second area game.
I expect us to come out and play well tonight.
Coach, we wish you the best of luck.
Okay?
Appreciate it.
The head coach of the Florence Falcons, Coach Dylan Burleson,
his team getting ready to tangle with the Patriots of Bob Jones High School.
It should be a fun one here tonight.

Welcome back to the TNT fireworks pregame show.
Florence Falcons basketball with Kevin Johnson flying solo on this Tuesday night with you here from the coffee gym.
Hope you're enjoying Florence Falcons athletics here on 93.9 The Score.
My 22nd season to do games here.
I've been here since 2004, and a lot of names change, but a lot of the same things going on,
and that is great athletes and great to see the 7A action.
It's a lot of fun to see the best of the best going at it here tonight.
Well, Bob Jones on the road here at Florence.
Should be a tremendous matchup.
Florence has come into this game.
It's been an early struggle for this Falcons team.
Again, a lot of new players, a lot of new faces coming on, and not as much size as the Falcons had in the past.
Matter of fact, the tallest Falcon player is probably 6'2", 6'3", to be honest with you.
They're a guard-heavy team with, led by J.C.I. Payne and J.Shot Pearson,
who've been really the keys for this, catalyst for this Falcons team.
So the guys on the inside that are giving up a lot of size have to really play strong and smart and box out.
That's the key.
But the Falcons on the season, 1-8 coming into this game.
Meanwhile, Bob Jones, 6-4.
The Falcons' only win was over Muscle Shoals, which is a very, very good team.
So I know the Falcons have the opportunity and the ability.
And you look at the schedule, they have played top-10 teams.
The first rankings came out, and you see Huntsville in the top-10,
and you see others in the top-10, the Falcons played Spartan up there as well.
So it's been a tough, tough season early on with the schedule,
but it prepares them for games like this with the Patriots of Bob Jones High School.
So it should be a good matchup.
Florence fell to James Clemens the other night to go to 0-1 in area play.
Meanwhile, Bob Jones knocked off Austin to go to 1-0 in area play.
But it is really about holding your home court advantage.
So that's the key, holding the home court advantage and taking care of things that way
so that the Falcons can do that, and we'll see how they can turn out.
Again, a good crowd showing up here for this one tonight.
Hope that you and yours are getting ready for a great Christmas season.
We're looking forward to a couple of games this week.
Friday night, if everything goes well, we'll be right back here with you.
That's Friday night, the Austin Black Bears come to town,
and we'll have that broadcast for you, Lord willing, this Friday evening.
And the Falcons also have a Saturday afternoon game about 5 o'clock at home against Athens.
My apologies, I'm unable.
I was already double booked, could not be there for that game.
But that one will be here at home as well.
We hope you enjoy these first two this week here on 93-9, the score.
Falcons warming up.
They do something a little different.
They were warming up in their home jerseys, white.
They give five guys blue netting jerseys to wear to do a little 5-on-5 competition.
Meanwhile, Bob Jones sort of does the same thing in a way.
They do some different things in preparation.
They have guys wearing long sleeves versus guys wearing short sleeves.
So both teams have their ways of doing things and getting things lined up.
Coach Starkey, Bob Jones, veteran coach, done this for many years.
So this Patriots team knows how good the Falcons have been.
And, of course, Florence coming off that great magical season last year, going to the state finals and getting the state runner-up trophy.
So we know this Falcon team has the ability.
This Falcon team as well, Coach.
Just got to get the wheels on the track and make things go the right direction.
If they can do that, then they'll be in good shape.
Veteran officiating crew here tonight.
Cheerleaders from the Falcons out here tonight getting ready to be a part of pre-game ceremonies as well.
As I said, this is an area matchup, six area games.
Both teams will play three in December, and then you turn around and play three in January, home and home with each opponent, three at each place.
And after they do that, then you'll have the six games that will tell you who seeds where in the area.
And, of course, basketball is an area tournament type setting, so it'll be an area tournament game.
And the top seed will be the host site.
So that's why these area games are so important.
You're trying to play for seeding, and you're trying to get a home court advantage.
Florence and Bob Jones now getting ready for starting line.
It's in a few minutes.
The National Anthem is just around the corner.
You're listening to the TNT Fireworks pre-game show.

Starting lineups here on the TNT fireworks pregame show, Bob Jones Patriots being introduced right now as you listen to Florence Falcons basketball on 93-9 the score.
For the Patriots, Harrison Lockett will get the start at one guard.
MJ Robinson will be the another.
He wears number four.
Following him will be Jacob Parks, who wears number 10.
Brian Kellum will get the start.
He wears number 14.
And Ty Pace will get the start, who wears number 24.
So, Pace, Kellum, Parks, Robinson, and Lockett.
But Coach Starkey will go about 9 or 10 deep with his lineup tonight, that is for sure.
So, it'll be a good matchup for the Falcons and a key area game for the Falcons as well as they get ready to tangle with the Patriots.
The Patriots wearing the road red, blue numbers trimmed in a little bit of white.
We'll do our best we can.
And now the home team, Florence Falcons, coached by Dylan Burleson in his third season.
Here's your starting lineup for the Falcons.
At guard, number one, Jason Yon-Payne, a 5'10 junior, will get the start.
This Falcon team only has four seniors on the team.
And one of those is number two, the point guard, J-Shot Pearson.
Pearson, a 5'9 senior, is outstanding.
Cage Roy, a sophomore, 6'3", will get the start.
He's athletic.
And really, the more he plays, the better he becomes comfortable out on the floor.
Jaden Irons, a 6'2 junior.
Where's number 13?
He'll be on the inside trying to box out this big Bob Jones team.
And finally, the freshman.
Where's number 14?
Zalian Barnett.
Burnett.
Where's number 14?
We'll get the start.
So, Burnett, Irons, Roy, Pearson, and Payne.
By the way, Kevontae Green, I believe, is dressed up tonight.
Where's number 20?
His first time to be back.
Had a football injury, so it's good to see him.
Falcons wearing the home white.
Will be Roy.
It'll be Burnett.
It'll be Pearson and Payne.
And Roy will jump center, along with Irons out there.
Falcons going right to left as you listen.
Buckle in.
Listen to a good basketball game on this Tuesday night.
Enjoy it.
The Falcons control the towel as Roy tips it back to Pearson
against the man-to-man pressure, gets the high screen,
keeps the dribble alive, into the paint, got it to the corner to Roy.
Roy now dribble handoff, gives it to the side, and the whistle,
and they're going to get a foul on the Patriots.
Robinson picks up his first, team's first,
as Pearson was trying to go baseline.
Burnett, the freshman to inbound.
It gets into the corner and knocked away, stolen away by the Patriots.
Up the floor comes the Patriots.
Top of the key.
That'll be Pace running the point.
Pace into the paint, goes up, put a shot up, no good.
Rebound, no taken by the Patriots.
Going baseline, trying to get a shot up, no good.
Crossover, pass.
Knocked away, being chased down by the Patriots
as Payne pushed them all the way back.
These blue numbers are going to be so much fun for me to call.
I'll do my best I can.
One of their best players, Harrison Lockett with it now.
Lockett goes into the paint, turns, spins, put it up, put it in.
Lockett can play, just as simple as that.
He can really take it to the basket and make some plays.
And the Patriots strike first, leading it 2-0.
Here comes Roy into the paint, nowhere to go with it.
Picks up his dribble, back out to Pearson.
Pearson gets the screen from Roy.
Double team, gets it to the corner to Burnett.
Burnett looking in the corner, a little bit trapped.
Dribbles out of it now.
Back up top to Irons.
Coach Dylan Burleson says, run the play.
Gets it to Burnett.
Burnett got a step into the paint, laid it up.
No good.
Roy put it back up and got it to go.
The Falcons tied up at two on the putback by Cage Roy.
Pace will bring it up the right sideline.
The point guard for the Patriots gets it off now.
Going into the lane, right-hand shot blocked in there by Irons.
As Parks went up to shoot it, and the Irons blocked it.
Now Irons goes coast to coast the other way,
but he's double teamed in the paint, kicks it back out.
Falcons will reset.
Payne swings it all the way out to Burnett.
Back to Payne.
Payne has a player right on him right now, so he says, let's reset.
Keeps the dribble alive.
The left, he comes to the top of the key at the free throw line.
Nowhere to go.
Has to get rid of it to Roy.
Goes baseline.
He's double teamed.
Back to Payne, who can see it.
No call.
Still, still has it.
Back to Roy.
Goes baseline again.
This time he got a step.
Blocked away inside and rebound taken by the Patriots.
They get an outlet to the lock.
It goes up.
His shot is good, and he's fouled.
Lockett was strong with the basketball there, and the foul will be on Payne.
He gets his first, team's first.
Harrison Lockett will go to the line and shoot two.
Burnett will come out of the game for the Falcons.
Being coached up a little bit, our freshman.
Free throw coming.
Lockett's good.
Sub coming in.
For the Patriots will be Ethan Horton.
Taylin Jones checked in for the Florence Falcons.
So, Jones, Irons, Roy, Payne, and Pearson.
And Pearson has it.
Trailing five to two are the Falcons with 5.43 to go.
They get the bounce pass to Irons, top of the key.
Swings the ball around.
Got it from Jones.
He's pressured outside the three-point arc.
Doesn't want it there.
Gets it back to Payne.
Had a double-team.
Knocked away.
Out of bounds.
It'll stay with Florence.
You can see the double-team coming quite a bit on Pearson.
Roy will have to inbound it right in front of the bench of Bob Johnson.
Gets it to Irons, top of the key.
Now to Pearson.
Inside.
Got it for Roy, but couldn't catch the pass.
It was a great play.
Went through the hands.
Turned over.
Got back to Bob Jones.
They lose it out of bounds, but it'll stay with.
The Patriots.
But that's Kevontae Green checking into the game now.
For the first time this season, if I'm not mistaken.
Five to two.
Patriots lead.
They throw it away on the outside and go back to Florence.
A little miscommunication there by the Patriots, and so Florence will get the basketball back
with 5-21 to go.
Pearson will bring it up the floor against the man-to-man pressure.
Left side.
Gets it back now as he goes left.
Looking up top.
Got it for Payne on the curl.
The three.
No good.
Rebound taken out of the Patriots.
Robinson.
Robinson quickly up the floor.
Gets it to lock.
Eurostep layup.
Good.
He has seven.
Timeout on the floor.
We'll do the same.
Five to go in the first.
It's all Bob Jones.
Seven to two.
This is Falcon Basketball.

Merry Christmas from 93.9 The Score.
Kevin Johnson with you on this Tuesday night, where the Florence Falcons basketball team
right now trails Bob Jones 7-2, and it's been all Harrison Lockett.
He has seven points.
He goes about 6'5", got a lot of length, can handle the basketball, and he just has all
seven points for the Patriots.
Florence with it going right to left.
Irons to Jones to Pearson.
Pearson double-team, keeps the dribble alive, gets right up to Green.
Green has to pick up his dribble.
Strong with the basketball, hands it off to Pearson.
Double-team, double-threw it.
Ball knocked away and stolen away.
That was a triple-team right there.
Ball still loose on the floor, taken away by Florence, taken away again by Bob Jones.
Boy, that thing is slippery right now.
Up the floor comes the Patriots running their offense.
Trying to get inside.
Kick it, parks outside.
Horton has it again.
He gets a step, jump stop, blocked inside by Jones.
Tremendous defense there.
Lockett knocks away from Pearson.
Pearson has to retrieve it and bring it back up the floor.
But Lockett is some more athlete.
Pearson, oh, he got fouled there.
Lockett that time got caught.
Pearson did the old inside-out dribble.
The inside-out dribble is one of those where he didn't go behind the back,
but he just sort of went back left and come back right real quick.
And he draws the contact from Lockett, his first.
4-0-8 to go.
Florence trail 7-2.
Jones has the inbounds pass now.
Gets it back to Pearson.
Skipworth is checking the game for Florence as well now.
Pearson to Jones on the wing.
Jones skip pass across the way.
Good ball move to Pearson now.
Pearson couldn't get the shot.
Back to Green.
No shot clocking now in high school basketball.
Can be in some, but not in area play.
Pearson has it.
Looking for the good set.
Got the screen from Payne.
Pearson free throw line.
Can't get the shot off.
Brings it back out.
Very patient with it.
Green has it now for Florence.
Looking for help.
Gets it to Pearson.
Down 7-2.
Pearson looking, trying to get a step.
Dribble off this leg.
Taken away by the Patriots.
Just tremendous defense by Bob Jones.
They move it up the floor.
Lockett gets it down the floor quickly.
Parks has it now.
Parks has his reset.
Check that.
That's Reese Lockett in the game.
Now he gets it to Parks.
Parks, right elbow into the paint.
Goes off the glass and laid it in.
He used the size right there.
And the lead up 9-2.
And the size and length of this Bob Jones team that's going 6-4, 6-5 at several positions.
Starting to pay dividends.
And they're very much pressuring the Falcons out of their offense.
Payne had it slapped away there by Lockett.
Payne looking for a screen.
Got one.
Got the switch.
Gets it over to Pearson.
But they switch back.
And the ball nearly knocked away.
Green got it.
Back in the lane.
Had it knocked away.
Let's see what they call it.
Jump ball.
Possession area goes back to Bob Jones.
It was the right call.
Cooper Fulmer will check into the game for Payne.
And Jacoby Gill will come in.
For the Patriots.
Now Irons will come in for Green.
So Skipworth, Pearson, Irons, Fulmer, and Jones on the floor for Florence.
Trailing 9-2.
Here come the Patriots with it.
Lockett now running the point.
Can you imagine that?
It's 6-4 and 6-5.
Pull-up jumper at the elbow.
Left foot.
No good.
As the left-hander missed one finally.
Rebound taken by Jones of Florence.
Pearson.
Yo-yos with the basketball.
Got a step.
Got in the lane.
Kicked it over to the wing.
Three-pointer on the way.
That one back rim.
No good by Jones.
Rebound tipped out of bounds.
Last touch by Florence.
Now, wasn't a bad look by Jones.
It was a good give there by Pearson.
But right now, this Falcon team struggling to find any easy baskets or easy looks, I should say, against Bob Jones with two minutes to go here in the first half.
Horton has it.
Point guard.
Picked up by Fulmer.
Horton gets rid of it to Lockett.
That's Reese Lockett.
Back to Harrison Lockett.
Harrison spins in the lane.
Up and under.
Can't get rid of it.
Gets it to his brother.
Goes to baseline.
Back out to Horton.
Horton's back in the corner.
Deep three on the way.
From the wing.
No good.
Rebound taken by Lockett.
Goes back in and fouled before he goes up.
So, it should be before a shot.
That will be on Pearson, who pulled away.
That's a smart play by Pearson.
Roy will come back in for Florence.
Checking in for the Patriots will be Green.
Jayden Green.
Parks gets the baseline.
Goes to Lockett.
He goes up and under.
Shot good.
That's Reese Lockett.
So, the Lockett boys have nine of the 11.
The Patriots lead at 11-2.
They're pushing the Falcons.
The offense way outside the three-point line.
Fulmer open for three.
Had it blocked out of bounds.
He had a good look and come flying out of there
with Jacob Parks at 6-4.
Blocked it out of bounds.
And right now, this Falcon team is looking for somewhere
to get an open shot.
Kudos to the Patriots for the defense they played in the first quarter.
Roy has it.
Back to Pearson.
Pearson in the corner.
Irons for three.
Good look there.
It won't go.
Rebound tipped around.
Taken by Florence.
That was a good job there.
Jones chased it down to Pearson.
Open for three.
That one won't go.
Rebound taken by the Patriots.
Parks brings it out of there with under a minute to go.
An 11-2 to lead.
Falcons have been ice cold in quarter number one.
Parks cross-court pass to the right corner.
They get back out to Horton, who will run the point.
They may play for the last shot or just a good look.
Driving hard to the basket.
Knocked away.
Ball on the floor.
Still on the floor.
Should have got a walk call, but he's found over with no call.
Back to the Patriots.
They lob it inside, up and under move.
Put it off the glass and put it in.
That's to Gill.
With 30 seconds to go.
13-2.
The largest lead so far in the first quarter for the Patriots.
Pearson.
Goes right.
Hounded there by the third defender he's faced so far.
Breaks the pressure.
Gets it back out.
Green all over.
He has to pick up the dribble.
Nobody comes to help him.
Finally, Fulmer comes to help him.
And a whistle and a foul.
They finally blow the whistle there.
The overplay.
Reese Lockett will pick up the foul.
Second team foul at 9.7 o'clock.
Jaceon Payne will come in for the last 10 seconds.
As will Burnett.
So Payne, Burnett.
Roy, Irons, and Jones on the floor for Florence.
Payne looking.
Gets it in to Roy.
Back to Payne.
Payne.
Picks up the dribble.
Bounce pass on the other side.
Layup.
No good.
Put back up.
Good.
Big put back by Jones there after the shot was missed by Roy.
And after one quarter.
Bob Jones has controlled it.
But Florence trails it.
13-4.

One quarter in the books.
Florence trails at 13-4.
The Falcons will go right to left as Bob Jones with the suffocating defense in the first quarter.
Roy will give it back to Payne for Florence.
Payne drives floater.
Got a good look, and now it goes in.
Best open look Florence has had the whole game right there.
As Payne got a little runner from eight feet.
Trins the lead at 13-6.
Falcons defense has not been terrible, necessarily.
Lockett had most of the points in the first quarter.
He has it again.
Swings it around to Parks.
Goes inside now.
Shot put up.
Fade away is good.
That is Gill.
Jacoby Gill has four off the bench.
15-6.
Payne tries to get by one player.
Kent has to swing it back around to Irons.
Irons hands it off to Jones.
Now kicks it in the corner.
Three on the way by Burnett.
Won't go.
Rebound by Roy.
Back to Irons.
Laid it up.
Put it in.
Good ball movement there.
That looked more like Florence basketball there.
So what took Florence eight minutes in the first quarter is taking them less than a minute in the second quarter.
They got four points.
Trim the lead down to 15-8.
Deep three by the Patriots.
Good.
That's from the corner.
That's M.J. Robinson who drains that one.
Our 18-8, excuse me, 10-point lead.
Payne, double team with a dribble.

two for Jaden Iron,

I think we've got
our system back going.
It's the season

Christmas season.
Merry Christmas
to all from 93.9 to score.
Appreciate our station manager,
Greg Thornton,
calling in from his vacation time
and saying,
hey man,
I'll tell you what to do.
And he was right,
as usual.
So,
kudos to him.
Florence leads at 24-21.
And Bob Jones
will have the basketball
to start.
Quarter number three.
Falcons will have Pearson,
actually Payne Pearson
on the floor
playing defense.
Deep three on the way
by Horton,
no good.
Rebound though,
easy for Bob Jones
on the other side,
put back an end.
Robinson
came out of nowhere
to get that one.
So,
Robinson gets the basket,
turns the lead to one.
Falcons-Irons,
tough to the basket,
laid it in.
Boy,
Jaden Irons
used his body,
shielded defender,
and got that one to go.
Quickly down the floor,
down by three
are the Patriots
going baseline,
try to reverse layup,
can't get a go.
Put back up,
no good,
rebound tipped around,
and a whistle.
I think they can get
the Falcons reaching in.
There was four white jerseys,
but the one red jersey
had the ball.
And that was Robinson again.
And Pearson just picked up
number three.
So,
the senior general
not had his best night
having to battle
the pressure.
Free throw up and good
by Robinson.
Second free throw attempt
coming by Robinson.
Got them both.
Trims the Falcon lead
at 26-25.
Again,
our apologies
for technical difficulties.
We figured it out.
Back door cut.
Beautiful.
The irons laid it in.
That's a great set play
coming from the head coach,
Dylan Burleson.
Beautiful set play
right there,
and it was wide open.
Quickly down the floor,
bounce pass.
Lockett
wanted to get it.
Couldn't get the shot off.
Lockett gets back.
Harrison Lockett
guarded down by Payne
on the right wing.
Falcons defense
much better here
in the second and third quarters.
Crisscross to Horton.
Picked up by Roy.
Roy stays right in front
of Horton.
Horton has to give it back off.
D3 by Parks.
Put up short.
No good.
The rebound bounces funny
and goes right back
to the Patriots.
They get another look.
Offensive boards.
Horton.
Lockett has it.
Goes in the lane.
Put it up with the left hand.
Got it to go.
That's a great shot
by Harrison Lockett.
You just got to tip your hat
to him.
Great defense by irons.
Better shot
by Harrison Lockett.
Trims the lead to one.
28-27.
Falcons have the lead
and the basketball
six minutes to go
and change
here in the third quarter.
This time,
finally a foul called
and the whistle
against Bob Jones
as Jason Payne
was driving.
That will be
against Lockett.
Jones looks to get inbounds.
Globs it up to irons
on the box.
Double team
in the corner.
Open is Jones.
Doesn't take it.
Cross court baseline.
Trying to get something
going there.
Nothing there.
Swings it back around.
Top the key.
Jones will take that.
Three.
Too strong.
No good.
Rebound chased down
and Pearson goes through.
Three players on the bench
trying to save it.
Gabe Johnson said,
I got you.
He sort of held
everybody up.
Going to go back
to the Patriots.
Johnson's okay.
Make sure Pearson's okay.
Clean up on aisle one
behind the Florence bench.
Taken care of
by the great senior manager
Zach Morris
who's cleaning everything up.
5.50 to go.
Florence leaves at 28-27.
Here come the Patriots
with it.
Lockett.
Gets it to Parks.
Parks got to Lockett
on the wing.
Tries to go baseline.
Got a step.
Goes up and under
and he stepped on the baseline.
I believe.
No, they call a foul
before that.
Not sure they call
it on Jones.
Jones picked up Tay.
Tay Jones picked up
the foul.
Bob Jones inbounds it.
Swings it around.
Parks into the paint.
Jump stock.
Couldn't get the shot off.
Put it up.
Put it in any way.
That's just a tough play there.
He let the defender go up.
Wait until he come
down.
Went right back above him
and Bob Jones takes the lead
back at the 5-minute
18-second mark.
Ball knocked away.
Stolen away by the Patriots
as they've turned up
the defense now.
Lockett will bring it
up to the right sideline.
Got a step.
Trying to get a power.
Roy goes into the paint.
Double tap.
Should be a jump ball.
Irons got all hands on it
in the possession area.
Back to Florence.
Jay Nairns came off his man
to help out with Lockett.
Deal will come in for the Patriots.
Kavante Green will come in
for Florence.
So let's reset for Florence.
Payne and Pearson will bring
the ball up to the floor.
Jones and Green and Roy
will be down awaiting
for the Falcons.
Man-to-man pressure
by the Patriots.
Falcons in white and blue.
Patriots in all red.
Pearson had his pocket pick.
That's a steal right there.
Horton goes coast to coast
and laid it up and in.
Quickly down to floor Payne.
Payne in the paint
and he is fouled.
This time they're going to get
on the reach in.
Horton.
Horton was not guarding Pearson
when he picked him from behind.
31-26, the lead up,
or 31-28, excuse me,
lead up to three
for the Patriots.
Pearson looked to get inbounds.
Strong pass to Payne.
Back to Pearson.
Pearson guarded up top
by Robinson,
giving up about three
or four inches of height.
Maybe even five
or six inches height.
Keeps the dribble alive.
Goes to the left side.
Gets it to Roy.
Roy back to Green
at the top of the key.
Now Green trying to back down
spin in the lane.
Left hand layup.
Would not go.
That was a good look
but it wouldn't fall.
Rebound taken by the Patriots.
Parks up the floor.
Survey Stravitz goes to the right.
Picked up by Jones.
Got a high screen.
Good defense there.
Hedge by Green switching.
Parks will bring it back out.
Wants to go one-on-one.
Says nope,
give it back to
the best player
for the Patriots so far.
Harrison Lockett.
Lockett in the lane.
Gets rid of it.
Layup.
No good.
Lockett got the rebound.
Kicked it back out.
Three on the way.
No good.
Rebound chased down
and taken by Green
off Lawrence.
Doesn't want to take it there.
Hands it off to Pearson.
Pearson is fouled.
Let's see.
Stopped by Horton.
That's number two
at least on Horton.
With 3.48 to go.
The Patriots have a three-point lead.
Florence still looking
for some offense
here in the third quarter.
Roy will come out.
Skipworth will come in.
another sub coming in.
That will be JV and Lewis
will come in for Green.
He's still getting his feet
running under him
after football.
He's been out
for an injury.
So we've had to just
ease him back in.
We've had some good minutes.
Lewis
for Florence.
Gets it to Pearson.
Top of the key.
Payne.
Payne can't get the shot off.
Back to Pearson.
Pearson to Lewis.
Top of the key.
Lewis dribble.
Knocked away.
Stirling away.
Gill picked it from behind.
Now the Patriots
throw it away
but knocked out of bounds.
Last touch by Jones
on Florence.
It'll stay with Bob Jones
who leads it 31-28
with 3.31 to go here
in the third quarter.
Stack set.
Trying to get Lockett
to the screen
and the switch does.
Goes to the left hand.
Missing it.
No good.
Gill tries to get the rebound.
Gets it back out
for Bob Jones.
Knocked away.
Jones got the steal
and he's reached in
and fouled that time.
Jones with a long reach
got the steal
and was fouled from behind.
That'll be the fourth team foul
in the quarter.
Parks picks up the foul.
The next one,
Falcons will be shooting
free throws in the third quarter.
Trailing at 31-28.
Pearson picked up
up high at the top.
Gets rid of it
to Lewis.
Wants it back.
Can't get it.
Knocked away.
And a whistle
and a foul called.
I think they get Lewis.
Now the question is
was it an intentional foul?
And it is.
That's the right call.
Lewis didn't want to give up
the breakout away
so he reached out
and grabbed him.
The officials came together
a veteran crew
and that's the right call.
He did.
So to the free throw line
will be
the Patriots
to shoot free throws
but they missed the first
as MJ Robinson
can't get that one to fall.
He'll get another one.
And then the basketball
will belong to Bob Jones.
Second free throw.
Got that one to roll in.
One and two.
Fulmer will come in.
Now Florence will go small
with Jones,
Skipworth,
Fulmer,
Payne,
and Pearson.
So we're going to have
to really box out
and play smart.
3-0-2 to go.
Falcons down by four.
Dylan Burleson
doing anything he can
to find some offense
and mix and match.
Horton got the high stack.
Got a step in the lane.
Got away with the travel.
Kicked it back out.
Now he goes inside.
Lockett laid it up
and got it to go.
That's Reese Lockett.
So the Lockett brothers
are playing really well.
Pearson down the floor
behind the back dribble
in the lane.
Euro step.
Can't get the shot off.
Has to kick it back out
to Payne.
Payne.
Double team.
Keeps the dribble alive.
Needs a screen.
They switch on him so well
and they finally call
the blocking foul.
They just keep pushing them back.
And that's free throws.
That should be one
or two free throws.
So it should be free throws
with 2.28 to go
and Florence trailing
34-28.
Falcons let it
by three
at the end of the half.
But they've been outscored
by nine here
in the third quarter.
Lots of substitutions
waiting to enter the game.
And Payne's first free throw
is good.
Need every one of these
for your Florence.
Payne had a 12-point
second quarter.
Payne will come in
along with Irons
to get some size in
to join Pearson Payne
and Roy.
Payne's second free throw.
Got them both.
Stops the scoring drought.
Been stuck on 28 for a while.
Score now 34-30.
Bob Jones with the lead
in the basketball.
Kevin Johnson on the call
with you.
Lockett keeps it in his hands.
Goes cross court.
Swings it in the corner
to Reese Lockett now.
Up top, Gill has it.
Hands it back off.
Robinson swings it
to Gill.
Deep three.
No good.
Rebound taken by Florence.
That's a good rebound
by Jay Shaw Pearson.
Survey's traffic.
Nowhere to go with it.
Now goes to the side.
Deep three on the way.
Block, though.
Good block there
by the Patriots
and a whistle and a foul.
They're going to get
Pearson for his fourth.
Pearson was trying
to get in front
of the opponent there.
And Pearson's going to have
to come out
with four fouls.
Burnett will come in
with 152 to go.
Rarely you see
Jay Shaw Pearson
get in foul trouble,
but it's happened tonight.
Lockett in backcourt
will bring it across
to Gill.
Almost away by Lewis,
but Gill has it.
Gets it over to Robinson
for a deep three.
No good.
Rebound from Roy Fikes
forward.
Out of bounds.
Last touch by Florence.
Roy was fighting for it,
but could not hold on to it.
It'll go back
to Bob Jones.
Kudos, by the way,
to our station
engineer, Caleb,
tonight,
who was absolutely
fantastic taking care
of everything
while we were off the air.
Inside,
kicks it out,
threw it away.
Should be a turnover.
And back to Florence.
Though Robinson
pleading this case,
the law firm
of stripes,
stripes and stripes.
So, nope,
we're going the other way.
1.30 to go.
Here comes Dylan Burleson
calling play 77.
When you have plays
called 77,
my friend,
you've got a lot of plays
in the book.
In the corner.
Trying to move
as Burnett goes up with it.
Oh, he missed the shot.
Had a good look.
Ball tipped out of bounds.
Last touch
should be Florence basketball.
It will be.
So, ran a set play.
We couldn't get it to go.
Now, Florence will run
another set play
on the inbounds.
Looking.
Irons got it on the give.
Goes up.
Laid it up.
Wouldn't go.
Went all around the rim
on the perfect layup,
but it would not fall.
That's a tough break.
The lead is still
forward for Bob Jones.
We're at a minute to go here
in the third quarter.
Lockett up top.
Has a screen.
That's a moving screen.
That's against his brother,
Reese,
who just kept moving
and moving.
Coach Starkey
holding his arms out
and said,
what did he do?
And the official
who has called
state championship game
said, well,
he was blocking
and he was moving
and it would have been
great in football
but in basketball
you've got to just stand still
and that's been
the emphasis.
The moving screen
you can tell
has been called
in every place
we've been
and it's been
a point of emphasis
by officials.
Reaching foul
on Bob Jones
and Florence
will shoot free throws.
That one
going around
trying to play
defense there
was Kellum.
He picks up
the foul
and Green
will shoot
two.
First one
not good.
Gotta realize
Kevante Green
has not been
on the court
any.
I believe tonight
is his first action
if I'm not mistaken.
Second free throw
no good.
Rebound
and it might be
another foul
on Bob Jones
and that's pushing
off on the inside.
and that's going
to be against
Reese Lockett
again
and they'll send
Roy to the
free throw line
to shoot two.
Roy's first
free throw
got that one to go.
Some of the
Bob Jones fans
not happy about that
but honestly
Roy
pretty strong kid
as a sophomore
he just got pulled
down.
Lockett
just picked up
the foul
and after hearing
from the veteran
official
Coach Starkey
said okay
I'll buy that
that's okay
second free throw
got it to go.
There's Lawrence
trims the lead
to two
34-32
with 50 seconds
to go in the third.
Well it's been
not pretty for
Florence
but they've stuck
around
and they got
a chance here.
In the paint
should be a travel
no cause
Pace got away
with one there.
Lockett
driving to the
paint
turn
kicked it back out
couldn't find
the shot there
Horton has it
to Pace
Florence is
Burnett
right there
the freshman
guarding Pace
Lockett now
picked up by
Kevante Green
the 23
now they come
with a double
gets it in the
corner
deep three
by Horton
on the way
strong
no good
rebound
yanked down
though by
Kellum
kicks it back
to Pace
in the corner
three ball
on the way
this time
good
drain the three
was Robinson
and timeout
taken by Bob
Jones
will do the same
Florence
trails now
37-32
we're back

10 seconds to go here
in the third quarter
the three by Robinson
gives Bob Jones
a five point lead
and Coach Stark
can call a timeout
he might not have
wanted to call it
after he realized
what the time
of the clock was
but he went in
and you see it a lot
coaches want to set up
defense for offense
but you don't want
Florence to get a good
shot here
now they'll pick up
full court
Roy to inbound
it gets it into Payne
Payne has it
with nine seconds
Payne down
the left sideline
gets it to Green
Irons back to Payne
knocked out of bounds
last touch by Bob Jones
with four point nine
Florence right to inbound
it on the sideline
across the way
from the Florence bench
Payne will inbound it
look for him maybe
to get it back
if he can
look to spin it in
get it to Green
his triple team
Green goes
kicks it inside
Irons kicks it out
three on the way
get the buzzer
short no good
that's pretty good
ball movement
would not fall
and after three

37-32

Bob Jones
will have the basketball
to start
quarter number four
and they turn it over
Falcons came out
with a little trap
forced pace
to throw it away
turnover Bob Jones
so Falcons
trying to pick up
their pressure
Falcons have had to
battle back all night
see if they can do it
one more time
trailing by five
Payne
left side to Irons
hands it off to Jones
goes into the paint
goes up with a left-hand block
rebound taken down by Irons
he puts it up
and he's fouled
that will be on
that will be on
Killam
Killam's foul
Irons go to the free throw line
that's number two
on Killam
first free throw up
and will not go
for Irons
five point game still
Florence trails
37-32
Irons will try to cut it
to four
free throw up
got that one to go
one to two
and Irons will come
out of the game
Cooper Fullmore
come in
Florence is going to
pick up full court
2-2-1
or 2-1-2 press
right now
and now they just
go straight man
Harrison Lockett
will bring it up
the floor
Fullmore
harassing him
at the top
the Patriots
spreading it out
right now
Lockett
got a screen
goes into the paint
nowhere to go
pulls it back out
he keeps the drill alive
he's a smart player
very talented
very smart too
four point lead
for Bob Jones
he ended the paint
and that time
will reach in
on Fullmore's
right call
got him on the wrist
first team foul
in the quarter
Robinson
will inbound
for Bob Jones
gives it in
swings around
to Pace
at the top
of the key
Pace
back to the left wing
and now Pace
gets it back
from Robinson
seven minutes
to go now
in the game
Florence down by four
Robinson
and Pace
Pace has it
gets rid of it
shot up
and it rolled in
don't know how
that rolled in
but Robinson
put a soft touch
on it
and it rolled in
foul can see
the basket here
in the lane
put up
no good
rebound taken
by Florence
says Fulmer
knocked out of bounds
last touch
by Fulmer
Irons
couldn't get that
one to go in
Roy will come
back into the game
Fulmer will come
out
six point lead
for Bob Jones
and now Falcons
to pick up
full court
Roy will pick up
Lockett
Harrison Lockett
loves to go left
so Roy's trying
to force it
to go right
now he comes
back left
gets rid of it
to pace
into the corner
on the other
side
swings around
to Robinson
back out to
Lockett
you hear Falcons
match up
running a jump
trap
Kellum goes
down the lane
laid it up
put it in
Falcons were
jumping and trying
to trap
make something
happen
the Patriots
made him
pay for it
quickly down
the floor
Falcons
out of control
that one
no good
rebound
taken down
by the
Patriots
the Patriots
with it
leading it
by eight
Lockett
pulls it
back out
and he is
fouled
Payne
reached in
and got him
timeout
taken by the
Falcons
it's 6.06
to go
down by eight
we'll do the
same

519 to go
in the game
Bob Jones opens
into the
fourth quarter
with a
10-1
run
and leads
down
by
14
47-33
line
back-to-back
threes
by
Robinson
Florence
inside
got it
to
Roy
he's
fouled
he'll go
run
and shoot
two
game
was a
six to
eight point
game
matter of fact
at the
end of
three
it was a
five point
game
37-32
and the
10-1
run
has taken
a five point
game
out to
14
Roy
will try
to stop
the run
missed
the free
throw
Green
will check
in
for the
Falcons
will join
Roy
at the
free
throw
line
Jones
Pearson
and Payne
second
free throw
by Roy
got that
one to
go
got one
of them
full court
press
Patriots
get it
inbounds
Rockets
6-5
up top
running
the point
still in
backcourt
surveys
traffic
pushes

finally
he's

rebound
taken
by Pearson
Pearson
weaves
through

left
side
got it
to Payne
Payne
drives
baseline
pull up
15-footer
rattle

got that
one to
fall
turns
the lead
down
now
to
nine
or
11
47
36
and a
turnover
by
Bob
Jones
so
Florence
will get
it back
with
441
to go
don't
go
away
yet
this
Falcon
team
is
strapping
trail
by
11
Reese
Lockett
will come
in for
Horton
so that
gives
them
about
three
inches
of
height
they're
taller
than
the
Falcons
at
every
position
and
that's
been
a
factor
in
this
game
today
Falcons
inbound
it
to
Payne
up top
gets the
screen
from
Pearson
can't
get the
shot up
though
with
Lockett
on him
goes to
the
baseline
and is
fouled
he'll go
line

drew
the

he'll
go to

to
shoot
two
Dylan

need
these
free

that's
the
first
thing
436
to go
first free
throw
got that
one
Horton
will check
back in
Fulmer
will check
back in
Fulmer
will come
in
for
Roy
Substitutions
Parks
will come
in
for
Pace
10
point
lead
trying
to
make
it
single
digits
as
Florence
is
JC
on
paying
as
they
clean
up
the
floor
underneath
where
some
wet
spots
had
occurred
veteran
officiating
crew
done a
good
job
tonight
clean
it
up
second
free
throw
coming
from
the
lefty
the
junior
puts
it up
got it
to go
he
leads
the
Falcons
with
16
unofficially
on the
day
Patriots
had
trouble
getting
inbounds
finally
do
get
inbounds
Lockett
really
good
with
the
basketball
6-5
back in
backcourt
has to
pick up
his dribble
oh boy
the Falcons
had a
chance
the Falcons
couldn't
get it
Robinson
frontcourt
kicks it
back out
to
Horton
Falcons
running
and trapping
every chance
they get
Bob Jones
really moving
the
basketball
now
Lockett
double teamed
after the
midcourt
strike
gets rid
of
it
got
it
to
Reese
Lockett
he'll pull
up the
free throw
line
won't
take
it
they lob
it
to
Robinson
they just
keep
moving
the ball
so
Florence
keeps
moving
and Bob
Jones
moving
the
basketball
brilliantly
4-5 to
go
into the
lane
Lockett
brings it
back
out
47-38
Lawrence
down by
nine
and they have
to give
up a
foul
Green
will
foul
Roy
will come
in for
Green
and
Dylan
Brulson
is going
to use
one more
timeout
that
may be
his last
I'm not
sure
we'll do
the same

357 to go
in the game
Florence
going to need
a little bit
of a Christmas
miracle tonight
they're down
by 9
47-38
they've trailed
by 14
though so
they've gone
on a little
5-0 run
Bob Johnson
inbound
to finally
get it in
Kellum
couldn't get
it back
but finally
does to
lock it
lock it
gets rid
of it
quickly
ball tipped
away
stolen
away
quick hands
there
but knocked
away
and a
foul
called
against
Bob
Jones
and good
sportsmanship
there by
Robinson
who came
over to
help pick
up pain
so Horton
fouls out
of the game
I'd sit
right next
to the
scoreboard
keeper
court side
fourth
team
foul
so it'll be
inbound
so good
good job
by the
scoreboard
keeper
who said
hey look
it was
the fifth
foul
on the
player
only the
fourth
foul
on the
team
in the
quarter
Pearson
inbounds
to pain
back to
Pearson
Pearson
now
this is a
big possession
here
gets it
to Roy
Roy
to Jones
Jones
back to
pain
in the
corner
driving
baseline
nowhere
to go
with it
kicked it
back out
Jones
has got a
good look
three
would not
go
that was
a good
look
and a good
set
would not
follow
rebound
taken
by Bob
Jones
Falcons
go right
into the
trap
pressing
back
forward
starting
to bother
Bob
Jones
a tad
pace
gets rid
of it
up the
floor
Kellum
has
an easy
layup
put it
in
so
Kellum
gets that
one back
and the lead
back up to
11
49-38
3-10
to go
pain
to green
green
looking
had it knocked
away
and a whistle
and tie
up
pace
came in
and tied
him up
that's
Kevante
not having
a lot
of basketball
minutes
already
irons
will come
in
for green
and lock
it will
come in
for pace
so they
go defense
for offense
as Bob
Jones
as far
goes
offense
for defense
3-0-5
to go
both teams
have one
timeout
left
Roy
will
inbound
for
Florence
Roy
gets
into
irons
irons
to
Pearson
Pearson
looking
for
Payne
boy
they
were
waiting
on
that
play
Pearson
back
to
Jones
gets it
to
Roy
hands it
off
to
Payne
Payne
can't even
get one
from
30 feet
away
gets it
to irons
he's trying
to back
down
this
defender
double
team
gets it
back
to
Pearson
Pearson
underneath
trying to
dribble
through
traffic
up and
under
goes
back
lay up
knock out
of
bounds
and
will
stay
with
Florence
Kellum
celebrates
blocking the 5-9 player at 6-6
2-39 to go
just the size of this Bob Jones team benefactor
Payne can't get the shot off again
goes baseline
trying to back down against
defender locket
spins
kicks in the corner
three on the way
that one won't fall
rebound taken by Kellum
of Bob Jones
Patriots right now
owning the boards
and that's been a factor too
with their size
Reese Lockett in the front court
swings it around
goes baseline
hands it off
Robinson shot's good
that may do it right there
Robinson has been a force tonight
and a foul call on Robinson
as I bragged on him
will be free throws for Florence
trailing it right now
51-38
might have been on Parks
that got the fifth foul
it was Parks the foul
not Robinson
so he picked up his fifth
and he's being coached up
by Coach Starkey
to our left
these coaches are really good
Coach Starkey
for Bob Jones
Coach Burleson
for Florence
Florence dug themselves
a deep hole
in the first quarter
Skipworth will have
to come in
Green will come out
and free throws
come in for Jones
at the 205 mark
trailing by 13
first one of the way
got that one to go
second free throw
attempt coming
got them both
substitution coming in
Burnett will come in now
Payne will come out
205 to go
trailing by 11
Lawrence will do
anything they can
to try to get a steal here
finally gets it in
almost lost it
he did lose
the turnover
that was Burnett
and friends
forcing that one
Payne will come back in
along with Fulmer
so offense for defense
Roy will come out
Skipworth will come out
you got to get somebody out
you got to get somebody out
there
and they finally do
so Fulmer
Payne
Skipworth
Jones
and Pearson
on the floor
so a lot of shooters
if Farx can get the ball
to them
knocked away
from Payne
and he lost it
out of bounds
and he knew it
that's great defense
by Lockett
and Payne couldn't get it
Roy will come back in
for Payne
as will Burnett
come in for defense too
so
you see the defense
for offense
as much as possible
no stopping
coaching by this
Florence coaching staff
Dylan Burleson
Pace got hit
by his own player
before they inbound it
accidentally
and Lockett's fouled
in backcourt
by Roy
might have been Burnett
Burnett reached in
at the two minute mark
that's the fourth
team foul
on Florence
the next one
will be free throws
for the Patriots
Pace gets it
backcourt
breaks the double team
bounce pass
in the frontcourt
now to Robinson
crosscourt pass
skips it
skips it back
out to Pace
Pace double team
again
splits it again
in the paint
left it off to Kellum
put it up
put it in
all Bob Jones
here in the fourth
quarter
and they still
again
this time
Lockett
all by himself
Jams at home
with two hands
and that will be
the exclamation point
with a minute
I have to go
timeout by Florence
we'll do the same

128 to go
in the game
Florence trails
55-40
to Bob Jones
who has
really taken control
of this
they led by 5
at the end of 3
but they've outscored
they went on a
10-1 run
to start the 4th quarter
and that's been
the difference
Pearson front court
for Florence
gets it over to Jones
Florence can't dribble
they're going to have
to get some shots
up no matter what
and Jones back to Payne
Payne realizes that
pulls
nope
nowhere to go
he's triple team
now triple team
still
can't get rid of it
he may have walked
and he did
that's the right call
he moved his pivot foot
that's tremendous
defense by the team
in red
you gotta tip your hat
to Bob Jones
they've come in here
played outstanding
defense
Burnett
will take the place
now
of
Skipworth
with 107 to go
15 point lead
for the Patriots
Pace in backcourt
picked up by Fulmer
Falcons trying to trap
at the midcourt
strike
Pace realizes
gets rid of it
back to Pace
from Lockett
Pace goes down
lays it over to
Kellum
shot blocked
this time
as Fulmer
blocked it
rebound
taken by
Pearson
Pearson
in the lane
Pearson pulls up
and 10
got it
go
Jayshod's had a tough
night
not his fault
he's played hard
and a foul
and a foul
and a foul
backcourt on
Burnett
39 seconds to go
Florence trails
by 13
Payne will get ready
to check in
as free throws
will be coming
for
Gill
check
Robinson
will be shooting
free throws
well I'll try
the third time
how about now
they move around
it's going to be
Harrison Lockett
who is being
outstanding
I've never seen
so many left-handed
players as I do
in this day and age
first free throw
ain't no good
Florence has
three or four
they had three or four
last year
and now
I'm starting
to watch
basketball more
how many teams
have two or three
left-handers
I think it's
more of a phenomenon
today than it used to be
both free throws
no good
Florence down by 13
Burnett up the floor
gets it to Payne
Payne to
Fulmer who drives
in the lane
kicked it back out
Burnett's open for three
that one to me
is no good
rebound
stayed by Florence
Fulmer though
couldn't catch the ball
on the floor
and timeout taken
by Bob Jones
they got the
scramble inside
call the timeout
we'll do the same
with 22 seconds to go
Falcons trail up
by 13
we're back
in 30 seconds

22 seconds to go
in this one
and the Patriots
have come on the road
and going to snatch one
away from Florence
to go to 2-0
in area play
they beat Austin
by 10
at home
on last
I guess it was
last Friday night
now they're going to
take the Falcons
and it looks like
about the same
score actually
Lawrence will pick
up full court
Falcons just
couldn't find
any offense
only scored
two points
in the first
quarter
we're down
13-2
and in the
fourth quarter
Falcons got out
scored 10-1
to start the
quarter
and that was
the difference
in the game
Patriots will
break the pressure
get up the floor
Falcons trying
to double team
all they can
and the Patriots
now
will bring it
back out
Lockett will
dribble it out
with three
with two
with one
and now
it will do it
as the Patriots
win it
55-42
over the Falcons

Falcons

Kevin Johnson
with you
not good news
for Falcon
fans
tonight
Falcons
fought
scrapped
just had
too many
big runs
by Bob
Jones
and the size
of Bob
Jones
played such
a big
factor
the Patriots
to win
at 55
42
if you want
to know
the stats
of the game
maybe it's
just the score
by quarters
that doesn't
always tell
the story
but it
really does
it was 13
to 4
in the first
quarter
matter of fact
for much
of the quarter
it was a
13 to 2
game
Florence
actually kept
it from being
even a blowout
in the first
quarter
and in the
second quarter
they make
an incredible
comeback
and actually
outscored
Bob Jones
in such a way
that they
take it
a 20
lead at
24-21
so they outscored
them 20-8
in the second
quarter
but the third
quarter
Bob Jones
returned to
favor
outscored
the Falcons
that quarter
by 8
take the lead
37-2
32
and actually
went on a
14-1 run
when you count
the third quarter
with the fourth
went on a
14-1 run
and that was
the difference
in the fourth
quarter
as Florence
falls
55-42
and
hard fought
game
a good defensive
game for
the Patriots
and the Falcons
offense just
struggled to find
anything in rhythm
other than
quarter
number
two
it was
all Bob
Jones
so the Falcons
fall to 0-2
in area play
and will have to
rebound
quickly
as they get ready
to play at home
this coming Friday
night
against the Black Bears
of Austin High School
unofficially
for the
Bob Jones
Patriots
Lockett
was the one
that was really
good
he had about
14 unofficially
in Robinson
he had a lot
of threes
I think he had
four or five
threes
I've got him
with the
unofficially
right at
20
to lead
the Patriots
for the Falcons
it was
Jason Yon Payne
unofficially
tonight
with 16
to lead
the Falcons
and I think
Jaden Irons
might have been
the next leading
scorer
with seven
so
Florence
falls
to Bob
Jones
55-42
