A month ago, we issued an article giving all of you a chance to show your football predictive chops with the CFP Bracket. And lest you think we don’t own up to our own bad takes around here, we’re also checking the proof now that the dust has settled and Indiana is the reigning national champ.
For my part, I started really well, but Georgia blowing it against Ole Miss derailed my bracket.
Here were my picks:
Round 1 Winners
Alabama, Miami, Ole Miss, Oregon.
Woohoo, 100%!
Round 2 Winners
Miami, Texas Tech, Indiana, Georgia
I’m very proud that I was one of the very few to pick Miami for upset wins in the first two rounds. I never believed in Ohio State. However, I whiffed on Georgia and Texas Tech.
2/4.
Semifinals
Georgia, Indiana
Well, I got Indiana right. But I had UGA knocking off Miami…. Instead, it was Ole Miss there, and they couldn’t get the job done.
1/2
Championship
Georgia
Like most of you, I overrated the Bulldogs.
0/1
My final tally: 7/12.
Of those that participated in the comments, the winner was Realist Larry, who selected 7/12 correct, and correctly chose Indiana as the national champion. The bracket:
Round 1: Oregon, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas A&M
Round 2: Oregon, Indiana, Ole Miss, Ohio State (getting the Ole Miss upset right here was huge)
Semis: Indiana, Ole Miss
Champ: Indiana
So congrats to Realist Larry for being our best playoff prediction expert this year! Please see Josh for any #refunds.
