When asked about who will handle kickoff and punt returns on Wednesday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer stated: “you’ll see a combination of Ryan Williams, Trae’shawn Brown, Dijon Lee and Rico Scott more than likely.” He was not more specific than that.
It’s probably safe to assume that cornerback Lee (2 PR for 32 yards in 2025) will be the main punt returner backed by recevier Williams. Running back Brown and wide receiver Scott (returned 3 KO in 2025) are likely on kickoff returns. Running backs usually return KOs, not punts. Williams may be back on kickoffs as well.
Interestingly, the other Brown, Zabien Brown, was the main punt returner in 2024 (12 PR) and also brought back two kickoffs that year. Last year, he returned two punts. Lotzeir Brooks was the main kickoff returner last season (15), but he has been nursing some injuries.
