Ryan Coleman-Williams just barely made his way into ESPN’s top 10 WRs for the upcoming season.
“Really good player, but he had a lot of drops — and the drops were bad,” an SEC director of player personnel said.
Coleman-Williams had three or fewer catches in six of Alabama’s last seven games while 2025 second-round pick Germie Bernard emerged as Ty Simpson’s top target. Now the former five-star is on his third QB in three years. One scouting director who faced the Crimson Tide said his staff was more worried about Bernard and Lotzeir Brooks entering their matchup. Others still see serious upside if Coleman-Williams can eliminate the drops and find some consistency.
“He’s got it, he just had a rough year,” a Big Ten staffer said. “Another inconsistent guy, but in terms of physical tools, he’s definitely a guy that pops off on tape.”
Speaking of WRs, Noah Rogers is the latest in Al dot com’s “50 players” series.
Coleman-Williams and Brooks both have the talent to be star receivers in the SEC. But the ability to have a taller wideout go up and make a play is a major plus, and Rogers has that in a way that the others don’t.
Rogers started his college career with one season at Ohio State before transferring to NC State for the past two. He was the Wolfpack’s third leading receiver last season, with 441 yards on 33 catches, including two touchdowns.
The North Carolina native was a four-star prospect out of high school, and maintained that rating as a transfer portal prospect. 247Sports ranked him as the No. 15 wide receiver in the portal.
While Rogers early absence will hurt, he will have a chance to make a real impact upon return.
The problem for Rogers is that Ced Morgan has similar size and looked awfully good at A-Day. Derek Meadows is also 6’5”.
Colin Gay has some questions for the defensive line.
How much will Alabama rotate on the defensive line?
Alabama seems to be overflowing with options on the defensive line heading into 2026 without really any that have made a sure, definitive impact.
Transfers like Thompkins, Kedrick Bingley-Jones and Terrance Green have experience, but not as the headliner. Depth pieces from years past are set to take a step forward like London Simmons, Jeremiah Beaman, Edric Hill and Steve Bolo Mboumoua.
Rotation can showcase versatility. It can also keep pieces fresh. But it can also be a product of a lack of stability or production.
Can rotation work in Alabama’s favor? Or will it be necessary because of a lack of depth?
Last, Patrick Murphy got a commitment from the top JUCO softball player.
Livingstone has both speed and power as an outfielder. She hit .526 with seven home runs, 57 RBIs along with 32 stolen bases at Florida SouthWestern State as part of the Buccaneers’ third-place finish at the 2026 NJCAA World Series. During the world series, the centerfielder hit .714 with seven RBIs. She is the player in Florida SouthWestern State program history to be named the NJCAA National Player of the Year.
Alabama is replacing graduating senior Kristen White in centerfield, and Livingstone will be in contention to be the Crimson Tide’s next centerfielder.
Sounds like a player you stick at the top of the order and let her terrorize people.
