After a difficult loss at home last Friday night, the Falcons must regroup and pull a road upset tonight to give them the best scenario possible for postseason play. Welcome to Florence Falcons football on a Thursday night, the fourth Thursday night game of the season for the Florence Falcons. Looking forward to a good night tonight. Hello everyone, I'm Kevin Johnson. Glad to be with you as the voice of the Falcons and welcome to the T&T Fireworks pregame show. Joining me now, my color analyst, good friend Mike Albertson.

And Mike, one thing about it, it finally feels a little bit like football weather tonight and, you know, it's going to be fun to see that. That's just that feel that you're in the end of the season, you can feel it in the air. Yeah, I mean, this is that type where you get that cool, crisp air as the sun goes down. It's going to get a little chillier, a little breeze as well. So it's going to be a chilly night for football. However, I mean, this is perfect weather for it.

With the pads and everything, it's just what high school football is all about. Incredible facility here. One of the best in the state for 6A or 7A either in Oxford High School. Tremendous setting. We are high top of a double-decker press box. We're on the second floor here. And I've pulled up the window and got some heat in here, but also some cool air coming in, sort of balance that out. And I've got on layers. Jeffrey Jones is layered up for tonight to be on the sideline.

Mike Albertson, you're from New Jersey. What are you wearing tonight? Shorts and T-shirts, that's right. Shorts and a polo. Same as every other week. That's the New Jersey and we're like freezing up here and he's like, oh, no, it's just shorts and a polo. This is summertime in New Jersey. Summertime in New Jersey. Well, let's talk about some things last week that didn't go well for the Florence Falcons. And now it's a heartbreaking loss. How does Florence turn this page? You know, I think really and truly it's focused on getting better each game.

You know, you learn the mistakes from last week. You see it on film. You work on some things in practice. And just work on self-improvement each and every week. I mean, that's all you really can do. You've got to turn that page. This is another week, another big game to play for. So, you know, but when it comes down to it, I mean, this team has improved each and every week. They've put in the work and everything. So, so as this game unfolds, you know, just once they get settled in, especially on the road, I think you're going to start seeing the Falcons improve on the things that they fell short on last week.

I agree to that totally. And we saw one thing this season, and that's culture. Culture seems to have turned for the Florence Falcons week in and week out. Last week even proved it once again. We have seen the culture turn in many ways. Absolutely. Last week, you know, Florence fought to the end and handled adversity and, you know, even some taunting and things like that. The other team was quite excited about their victory. They had fans storm the field and all this other stuff. Normally when mayhem ensues is when that stuff responds and, you know, the Falcons didn't respond as far as, you know, they allowed whatever to go on.

They held themselves with dignity in class. And it was really great to see that, you know, in years past that might not have been the case. But this Falcon team has really grown over the years and really responded in a positive way as to not make it a terrible situation. We're going to continue to talk for a few minutes. Coach Kenny Marston and I could not connect this week. He's had a lot on his plate. I've had a lot on my plate too, but he's really had a lot on his plate.

So we couldn't get together to do a pregame talk. But, Mike, when you look at this Falcon team, they had it on a platter for them. They had a chance last week to sew up. Number one region did not do that. They're 16, 17, 18-year-old kids. The response this week, will they come back and say, you know what, we continue to play hard. Will they continue to respond in the right way. That's going to be the fun to see how this team responds really. And this team has responded, you know, each and every time thus far.

So I don't expect anything less from this Falcon team. This is a pretty senior-laden team. I mean, I believe there's 24 seniors on this team. So that type of leadership will trickle down to the rest of the team that, you know, and the coaching staff has had a great job and a great effect of putting their thumbprint on with a lot of positivity and everything. So, I mean, this team, there's a lot of exciting things happening on this field right now. And that growth throughout the season, I just expect them to come out and compete like they always do.

[5:11] From week one to week 10, what has really impressed you about this Falcon team? I mean, just their ability to continue to stay in games, even when they're not playing their best. You know, in years past, maybe a team that would face some adversity or, you know, possibly make some mistakes and fold. This Falcon team just kept going after the next play, kept competing, kept fighting. And even when they weren't playing their best, they kept themselves in close games with an opportunity to come away with a victory.

And just that sort of grit and fight that this Falcon team has shown has just really been impressive to me. I think that's well said about this Florence Falcons team. To be honest with you, started off season one and three. The Falcons sit tonight at five and four and a chance to get a six game, six and four regular season before the playoffs. The Falcons will be in the playoffs. We don't know where or when. I know you've heard a lot of things on media. A lot of things have been said.

I don't necessarily believe everything. We'll talk about that later on in our pregame show as well. You're listening to the TNT fireworks pregame show. Florence Falcons football. Florence Falcons football, 93-9 the score. You're home for Florence Falcons football since the very beginning of Florence High School, 2004. And we have called a lot of great games in a lot of places.

It's not our first trip tonight to Oxford, at least for Mike and I. We've been here before. And, Mike, the last time we were here, there was a young man that played pretty good over that other team for Oxford that really caught our eye and ended up had a fairly good career. He made it to the NFL in Rock Thomas. Yeah, Rock Thomas was one of those things. It was really one of my first seasons doing the radio, and Rock Thomas was on the field. And, you know, you could tell that there was a difference right off the bat, just the way he moved, his physical ability.

And I believe at the time he was only a sophomore, maybe he was a junior. But, you know, he had more talent than I had ever seen on a high school football field. And it was just great to see. They also had a defensive end that was out of this world that wound up going to Mississippi State. So, I mean, this Oxford team can churn out some athletes, that's for sure. I agree with that as well. And, by the way, the last time we were here, probably the most famous halftime guest I ever interviewed was the famous radio personality, Rick Burgess of Rick and Bubba.

He is an Oxford grad, and he was here that night. We got to interview him and talk to him. So, very kind of him to do that night as well. Oxford has some famous alumni and a really impressive looking school here. We'll talk about that in just a minute. Mike, the injury bug has hit Florence, and a lot of new faces had to come in, mixed match time, and that could happen again tonight as well. What is the key to that? You know, injuries affect all teams, and we've got some key players banged up, but that's football, right?

You know, it's a brutal sport, and sometimes you get dinged up and injured. But that's why you practice so much. You have guys that are studying film, that are working on the field with you, and all that other stuff. So, that next man up mentality in football more so than ever, you know, it's just one of those where the Falcons have really worked hard to develop some depth, and they have some depth all over the field, so they're going to have to use it tonight. You know, in a long season like this, yeah, you see some injuries, but the Falcons have caught some big ones lately.

They really have. And Zoe Martin, defensively, has been outstanding for the Falcons for three seasons, all-state performer for two years. But, hey, let's throw him over on the offense, heavy package. Man, he was pretty impressive last week, was he not? Yeah, look, Zoe's an absolute competitor. He impressed me so much last week with his ability to just do whatever was asked of him. You know, he does a great job on defense, you know, and really makes a ton of tackles, great impact player for the Falcons.

But being able to impact the offensive side of the ball, you know, as well, they just really have leaned on him a good bit. And, you know, he gave absolutely everything that he had last week. He was, you know, he was hobbled a little bit. He was limping off the field. But, you know, he gave the Falcons everything that he had, and he was an absolute beast. And on those short yardage plays right there, he was able to drive through, make, you know, after first contact, getting five, six yards afterwards.

[10:30] And I think he finished with a 21-yard touchdown at one point. Just a phenomenal individual performance there by Zoe last week. As a matter of fact, Kenny Morrison, the head coach of the Florence Falcons, referred to him with one word, beast. That's what he said last week, the way he played last Friday night. And he'll have to do that again as well. Let's welcome our third member of the crew, who has already been all over the city of Oxford tonight. He has been all over Oxford campus here at Oxford High School.

My good friend, satellite reporter Jeff Jones and JJ, we are here at Oxford. And, man, it is impressive, is it not? Yes, it is impressive. It's one of those that I've been looking forward to coming and seeing. People that have been here before have told me I need to go walk around. And, you know, you know me, I have no shame. I just went and made myself at home. I walked to the training room and took pictures of everything. So I always love coming to these places we don't play often, like Thompson, Hewitt Trustful, those type of places, just seeing how the other half lives for a few minutes.

But I think that, you know, if we stay with it, Florence could have these type facilities in the future, too. I mean, there's no getting around it. They're nice facilities, and it's the pinnacle of Alabama football for sure. Artificial turf, the big yellow jacket emblem, black and gold are the colors of the Oxford yellow jackets. And this picture of Georgia Tech, they've got that yellow jacket emblem at the 50-yard line. I think that's more of a coffee yellow jacket. Yeah, I was going Georgia Tech. People remember that, too.

But I understand coffee yellow jacket. And around the edges is that old gold and black around the edges of the field. Oxford in gold and white with a white trim on the black bottom there in the end zones. And it's just impressive looking all around. Everything they've done is first class. We appreciate their help today as well. And J.J., Florence didn't have their A game last week. But they should be able to play, wouldn't you think, loose tonight? That's a good question. Yeah. We've talked about it all the way down here.

Nice little long drive, three hours to get down here. So we had a lot of time to talk about it. They did not play well last week. There's no doubt about it. We kind of got thrown into it. We had some injuries late in the week. So it was hard to adjust. You know, it's hard to adjust to – when you've got people go down during the middle of the week during practice, you know, when you have one practice to get it figured out, it's not going to work.

I think today we're going to figure some of those problems out, some of those miscommunications and whatnot. And, you know, simply – the fact of the matter is we've got to play better. Yeah. We've got to play better. And this team is not the Oxford we've seen in the past, but they're also no slouch. You know, they're going to give us – we're going to have to play a very good game in order to compete tonight. And they play very, very confident at home. They are very confident.

The team is well-coached. We've talked about that. Jeffrey, you know, how impressive has quarterback Cade Davis been throwing the ball from where he was in week one to where we are in week ten? What is your assessment? The maturity level that he's shown from week one to week ten is just amazing. He's – you know, he was a little timid. And he didn't have – he lacked a little bit of the confidence. You could tell. However, Cade's a great athlete. He's a funny kid. He's a great athlete.

He's perfectly capable of running a very successful 7A program. He's shown that to us over the last few weeks. You know, I'll be honest, this little run we've been on minus last week has been pretty impressive for all of us. We did not expect some of the things we've seen throughout the season. And Cade is just – you know, he's been the ring leader of it. Senior leadership. That guy, he's not new to this. He's been out there. He's got such a strong arm. Very impressive strong arm.

And, you know, he's not afraid to drop and run it. And, you know, if he starts running and I'm a cornerback out there, I don't want to hit him. He's big. He's a big old boy. And that's what you need. You need someone that's going to lower their head, lower their shoulder a little bit. Obviously not get hurt, but he's a tough one. He can take a lick and pop back up. He may not be the fastest, but he is a big one. He is a big one.

He can deliver it too. That's true. Well, I'll tell you what. We talked about ring leaders with Cade Davis. The ring leader of our four-man crew is really the fifth man. He's back in the 93.9 The Score Studios. James Moody will be with us tonight giving you updates. A lot of Thursday night games. You'll hear about all of those. James Moody back in Florence, Alabama at the luxurious 93.9 The Score Studios. Take it away. Thank you, Kevin. Yes, a lot of Thursday games. In fact, there's really only about seven games from the teams that we follow tomorrow night.

So, the rest of them are tonight, including but not limited to Rodgers and Lexington tonight. Also, Austin Muscle Shoals, Mars Hill Scottsboro, Shoals Christian Sheffield, Phillips and Tharptown, Belgrin and Vina, Deschler and West Morgan. And we'll also be keeping track of a couple of Tennessee games. Lawrence County is playing and also Loretto is playing. And we'll also keep up with no World Series tonight, game six tomorrow night. But we'll be keeping up with a limited college slate, including Tulane versus Texas San Antonio and Marshall in Coastal Carolina.

[15:31] So, we'll be keeping up with all that. And you can join us tomorrow night, following World Series game six for the AHSA statewide scoreboard show. That'll be tomorrow night after the World Series right here on 93.9 The Score. Now back to the stadium for more of the pregame show. Thank you, James Moody. And we're looking forward to keeping updates on all those scores, and especially those that have some implications possibly in Region 4. We're still holding out hope on that. The AHSA has not made their decision yet.

We'll talk more about that in a few minutes. I'll keep you a little teaser for what's coming up in the rest of our TNT Fireworks pregame show. We're right next to a major highway here in Oxford. You'll see some buses pulling in from Florence. Probably the band has arrived now. The big blue band making their appearance and pulling in with a little escort and lots of people here coming to the game. Big night here on a Thursday night for Florence and Oxford. Let's bring in Mike Albertson again.

And Mike, last year, Oxford probably, in my mind, was maybe the most impressive team we saw. And, you know, we were thinking, goodness gracious, that team could win the 6A title. They did not win the 6A title, but it just, the 6A level has some really powerful teams. And Oxford's one of them as well. Oh, absolutely. The impressive team we saw last year, without a doubt. You know, it was a 34-10 finish in our game. But Oxford finished the season 13-1 overall, you know, including the playoffs, with a perfect 10-0 regular season.

They rattled off three playoff wins to make it to the semifinals before getting picked off by Parker, who wound up winning, you know, the state championship at 6A. So, you know, this Oxford team was definitely built different last year. And they just have a program, so they're continuing on with some great players. And we're definitely in for it. This is a tough team. Big thank you to our good friends at Garner Pierce Auto for our courtesy vehicle tonight. And throughout the season, Jeffrey Jones, it was a pretty nice ride down.

It was a great ride. We had a 2024 CR-V, Honda CR-V. And I got to put on that Bluetooth, and we got you that. I didn't have to use you or John as my navigation today. It got us right here. Yeah, great guys to deal with over there. Every week we go over there, get the car. They're very, very warming. You know, go see Elmer Pierce over there, Garner Pierce Auto. Very impressive as well. I doubt that car will be there come next. Bringing in our fourth member of the crew, our statistician and former UNA linebacker, John McDaniel.

And, John, the bad thing is, by the way, how are you doing, John? Oh, yeah, it's been good, man. Having a better week. Yeah, good. Well, you know, get here and have a good meal together and fellowship together and, you know, have a good time just coming down and talking about football and life, et cetera. And, you know, the bad thing for this Florence team is it was a loss. The good thing is you can do something about it tonight. That is how I feel. And how do the Falcons do that mentally?

You're right. You know, when you lose, everybody is – they're ready for the coaching. You don't have to get on guys very much when they lose, right? So, you know, they're willing to accept all the coaching. You don't have to yell at them. You know, matter of fact, you probably have to build them up just a little bit. And our guys are probably ready for – they know they didn't come out and play their best game. I think any player or coach would tell you that. And so, as a competitive person, when you want to come back out the next week and show, hey, that was a blip, not a trend.

And they want to come out and show, hey, we're a lot better. We've put a lot more effort into this season than what we showed. And, you know, you don't have to worry about the outcome. Most people would say you're an underdog in the game. So, hey, let's come out and we'll just do as best we can and let it see what happens. No pressure on our guys. So, I think that's how it starts to begin to get back on track after a rough week. Our opponent tonight, the Yellow Jackets of Oxford High School, they're still impressive.

They're still well coached. What have you seen when you look at them on film? Yeah, that's the first thing that jumps out is they're well coached. A lot of times when you're watching film, you look from particular groups, say cornerbacks or linebackers, and if they're all mirroring each other as in doing the same techniques at the same time, they've been well coached. All the DBs backpedal break at the same time. Linebackers step up. There is a lot of good players, and they've done a great job coaching them.

You've got six guys that I counted. You've got a wide receiver committed to Marshall, linebacker to South Carolina, two linemen possibly going to Auburn. Another linebacker is committed to Ole Miss, and their running back is committed to South Alabama. Just the sampling of the talent they have, we've said maybe they're not the same Oxford as totally dominant as they were last year, but they've got guys who can take over games, and we're going to have to be where they are at all times. I agree with that.

So we speak with John McDaniel, our statistician here. And, you know, non-region game, but it still means a lot. Do you empty the playbook tonight? Maybe if you're Cade McGuire, the offensive coordinator. You know, normally for a 10th game out of region, the results actually don't matter. We're just out here to play. That's not the case this week, Kevin. The tiebreakers, as for this one through four, we've talked about the uniqueness of a four-way tie for first place. But at the time you get down to it, this game could matter winning it because we have so few wins as a region four among our out-of-conference players.

[20:50] So this game actually could very well be ranking. If the Falcons win tonight, they could wind up with a number one seed. I'd let every play that I've got, I don't just run them just to run them if I've got the situation. But if I'm ready and it presents itself, I'm calling a plays or any kind of trick play or special circumstance to try to get the Falcons a win. You know, John, I'm going to increase this for a minute and go off the script. I'm impressed last week when the Florence had to go to a two-minute offense.

And I started seeing route trees that I had not seen. I saw a lot of different looks. You know, for high school, this passing game has evolved more and more. A lot of times passing teams, our teams have maybe five or six, seven plays in place. I saw a lot of, you know, deep digs. I saw some outs. I saw some, the tree was wide open, put it that way. You're right. And they're running the whole tree from the start is the slants and the quick outs all the way to deep post and the go routes.

And our guys are running all of those. And each wide receiver really can run that whole tree. We have guys who's maybe specialized in shorter passes. Some are more possession receivers. But we've got guys who can do all of it. And with our quarterback being able to play so well, he has played so on time with his feet. And at the start of the season, it was a little bit rushed. And we could see that resulting in where his location of his passes are. None of that exists now.

His passes are on correct shoulders. If he wants a guy to slow down, he throws it on the back hip. Just a tremendous job by developing. Hey, you can do a lot of things when your quarterback is playing well and K is playing great. And I think tonight's test with Oxford playing a really good defense really lines the Falcons up well for postseason play. I don't know if they'll face a better defense in the first round there, whoever it is. So I think this really prepares them for what they're going to see next week a little bit.

But a really good team here in Oxford. We're looking forward to it. Hey, good shout out to our good friends at Lost Pizza in Florence tonight listening to our broadcast. Thank you so much, especially to the workers behind the scenes that do so much. So many of these young ladies that are waitresses and take care of things, they go above and beyond. They have all season long for our Falcon radio crew when we do our Florence Falcons night live on Thursday nights at Lost Pizza. They have been unbelievably outstanding in checking how they've done.

We appreciate all they've done throughout the season as well. That's Lost Pizza. They'll take care of you this weekend as well in historic downtown Florence. Countdown to kickoff. Back here at Oxford High School, Kevin Johnson, along with the radio crew of Mike Albertson, Jeffrey Jones, John McDaniel, all with you tonight. We apologize. There's been some cutouts on a couple of times for us. We understand that already. We realize that we are doing the best we can.

But we will try to get everything to you tonight here at Oxford High School and should be a good matchup. The Falcons wearing all white, blue helmets, blue numbers, blue writing. Oxford in those old gold pants, old gold helmets, black jerseys with old gold numbers. Trust me, I'm not going to complain about their jerseys and numbers. They look sharp, but as a broadcaster, if they wore the white, the gold numbers they wear would be impossible to find out what numbers they were and who it was.

So we'll do the best we can tonight to keep you informed on this one as we go forward. Florence and Oxford about 35 minutes away from what will be kickoff tonight of game number 10 for both teams. And the Florence Falcons are in class 7A region four. All we found out is, is that four teams ended up at five and two. And according to what our coaches knew and our staff knew, and according to what I knew talking to people, that it would go down to a tiebreaker that would involve these non-region games.

[26:01] Going into tonight, only one of those four teams has a victory over a non-region opponent. Austin knocked off Decatur earlier in the season. So if Florence or James Clements or Austin got wins tonight, then that could propel any of those teams into the number one spot. Spartan is already finished. They did not win a non-region game. They end their season, I think, at five and five, if I'm not mistaken. And so that is good. Now, with that said, earlier this week, there were some reports coming out of Montgomery from some people.

They said, hey, Spartan's won it. They went through a tiebreaker system, and they started announcing it. And it got on television. It got news. It was going all over the place. And to use the Lee Corso phrase, not so fast, my friend. A lot of the Florence fans, a lot of the Florence staff, a lot of the other school staff said, no, we do not believe that is true. So what we believe tonight is these games do matter. We won't know for sure until they finally make a ruling.

But what we understand in the way that this tiebreaker system has been used over the years, it was sort of changed in this one, we felt like. We feel like it goes all the way down to the non-region games and not stopping at letter G as they did last week. If that is true, then a Florence win tonight could make Florence number one. We will say this, Florence will either end up number one or number four. If they're number four, they travel to Baker next Friday night in Mobile, Alabama, seven and a half hours away for a football game in high school, which that's another story from KJ on that.

However, if the Florence Falcons were to win, then they would win the region if Austin lost and James Clemens lost tonight. Austin faces Muscle Shoals on the road at Muscle Shoals. James Clemens hosts a nine and or eight and one Homewood team tonight. So that's what our take on it is. A victory tonight coupled with a James Clemens loss and an Austin loss would put Florence at number one. Any other scenario and the Falcons would be number four. But again, there's already been some debate about this.

It's gone back and forth. I have not got my lawyers involved, but I do want to note that one of our sponsors, I might need to call Johnson, Pasteur, Medley and Virtual Attorneys before it's all over with to see if they can help us out a little bit. But welcome to the NCAA, Mike. I mean, welcome to AHSAA, Mike, because, hey, sometimes those things happen and people have opinions and people say, hey, get the cart before the horse. We understand it is an unprecedented 14 tie in the region.

It is a lot to shake out. Yeah, there is a lot to shake out. And, you know, but but anytime there's a governing body that's involved, you know, I'll just throw it all against the wall and see what sticks because, you know, they're they're they're going to have to sort it all out and fight it out. The only place that we have to worry about is on the field right now. You know, all the scenarios, throw those out the window. If you don't win this game, you don't you know, you're not you're going to be on the road.

So just take care of business tonight and we don't have to worry about any. It's not Louisiana where governors get involved, but it's close. I'll put it that way. So the first things first, you come and play the game here on the road. Take on Oxford and Mike Florence had three critical turnovers last night and we're in a colder night. Will slicker got to take care of that pig skin. Yeah, you always have to. I don't care if it's 140 degrees or four degrees. It's you you need to be able to take care of the ball.

I mean, that's that's the offense job. So, yeah, they get the job done last week. But but this week, yeah, maybe a little little extra attention is to be made. But is Falcon team is primed and ready to go and they know what task is ahead of them. Jeffrey John's on the sideline. You have Coach Kenny Marston nearby. We'll send it down to him and have the coach interview at this time. We're we're walking to the sidelines because they got a senior night tonight for the for the Yellow Jackets.

We want to get out of their way. Coach, long, long trip down. Three hours. How's that affect our team? It doesn't. I mean, it was a great trip. We left early, got here early. We actually had plenty of time to relax and rest down here. It's a great trip for us. We're ready to play. I don't normally talk about the weather a lot because Coach Hester back in the day used to get on me for asking about the weather. But it's a little chilly tonight, right?

Only do the guys. They think it's a little chilly. They got all their clothes on. We got a bunch of clothes on. We're going to play. It's cold for both sides. So, game 10. You know, this isn't game one. This isn't game two. This is game 10. We've learned each other. We learned the players have learned how to how to play under you. And they've learned what what they're going to get on, what you're going to get on to and for and whatnot. How does that how does that equate to a win tonight?

How can we take that energy and focus on winning? We just got to keep playing together as a team. That's what they've been doing all year. They've fought under adverse situations throughout. They've been outstanding under pressure. Had a little slip up last week, but we played really well. I mean, 24-21 game was a was a really good football game. We got that out of our system. We're time to play some. You're going to hate this one. What about this week? We've not talked about it one bit.

We didn't do what we did the week before at Spartan where we discussed the region championship at every term throughout the whole place. We we talked about us. Doesn't matter. Tonight at 10 o'clock, we'll we'll know what it looks like and we'll figure it out from there. I'm going to be with you, coach. Thank you. Focus. Coach Kenny Marson. And I think he answered that well. You know, he's got it narrowed down there where he feels like and when his team to be focused not here on the road.

[31:22] And we'll say this, he he didn't talk about it with the team, but the community talked about it. So did the so did the so did the some of the students and whatnot. So we're all anxious. We're all anxious to know what's going to happen. And and, you know, they are, too. But sometimes if you just don't talk about it, it's like it's like a no hitter. It might just work out. He tried one way. It didn't work. Maybe to try the other way. I understand that.

And I agree with the ball coach there. John, let's talk about this Florence defense. Last night they last week, they did force 33 turnovers in a game like this tonight. Pick up a few turnovers on the road. Yeah, the three turnovers that we forced last week were great. The negative was we gave up three turnovers. So we wound up even right. So on the numbers wise, if you're plus one on the turnover margin, you're have a 70 percent chance at winning plus three all the way up to over 90.

So for the Falcons to get a pull and upset win like this, that's how important turnovers can be. The Falcons have to really focus in on one. We've got to make sure we take care of the ball. Three is obviously too many. You negate any kind of extra defense might give. But our guys need to be focused, locked in. Hey, first guy, get him. Second guy, try to strip it. Make sure that we are really working on to give ourselves the best chance to win. Hey, by the way, the last few weeks against what?

Bob Jones, James Clemens, and Grissom, all plus one in the turnover category. Last week, tied. That's the difference right there. It says a whole lot about it. That's why he's the best statistician we have on the radios today. Oxford coached by Sam Adams. Sam Adams is 39-19 at Oxford. Before this, he was at Hillcrest Tuscaloosa. His overall record is 95-48. He's an excellent coach and has a great resume for sure. Kenny Marson, as well the same, will be in his fourth season at Florence. The Falcons have been in the playoffs each year of his tenure, including this season.

Oxford won last year over – last week, excuse me, over Huffman. They knocked off Huffman on Thursday night, so they've had a full week off 55-6. Meanwhile, Florence lost at home to Spartan 24-21. The Yellow Jackets are 5-4, but their losses might be a little misleading. They lost to Moody. That's a top team in their classification. They lost to Clay Chalkwell. Might be the best team in the state of Alabama. Still undefeated, and they defeated Thompson earlier this year. Lost to Mountain Brook, who is playing as well as anyone right now.

And then they lost to a Georgia powerhouse, Central Carrollton, who I think is still undefeated. So, they have played a powerhouse schedule. They are ready for games like this tonight. They are a loaded team, so the Falcons will have their hands full, no doubt. When we come back, we'll continue our countdown to kickoff. Kevin Johnson, glad to be with you tonight with the radio crew of Mike Albertson, Jeffrey Jones, John McDaniel. I want to say thank you to our sponsors tonight, Florence Utilities, Florence City Schools, Johnson, Passure, Medley, and Virtual Attorneys, North Alabama Bone and Joint Clinic, TNT Fireworks, who sponsors our pregame, halftime, and postgame, Yogurt Mountain, Whataburger, Hugo's Mexican Restaurant, Singing River Dentistry, Bank Independent, our good friends at Lost Pizza.

[37:03] Boy, they are good. Village Discount Drugs, Irons Electric, Cypress Creek Range, Hennigar Johnson and Layton Insurance, and Carbine Construction. Thank you for being our sponsors of Florence Falcons football all season alone. Mike, it's sort of hard to believe it's week 10. I mean, we talk about it every year. It just flies by. It's the quickest 10 weeks of the season, or of the year, that's for sure. We sit there and we start, and it's super hot, and as the season goes on, it just rattles one after the other after the other, and next thing you know, it's November, and we're looking up and we're going, okay, well, now it's playoff time.

We're ready to go. It's the fact that we were able to play 10 games, and here we are. It's kind of phenomenal. Really is phenomenal. It's a gorgeous night. We've had, obviously, rain throughout the state of Alabama, but the clouds have rolled away. We sort of followed the clouds rolling out, coming down, and just a beautiful night for high school football. It will be crisp. It will be cool. There's no doubt about that. Jeffrey Jones sounding on the sideline. It is going to be a cooler night, but a few Falcon fans have made this three-hour trick, the big blue bands here, the cheerleaders here.

There will be some support here for the boys in white and blue. Yeah, we've got some good support. You know, Orange travels well. We know that, but not as cold as I thought it would be. I might be jinxing myself a little bit, but, you know, Mike said earlier, you know, we start out when it's really hot, and the next thing you know, it's November. Well, to me, the next thing you know, it's cold, you know, and so this is the time of year where I kind of balance my thoughts of do I like these guys enough to travel in the cold weather with these guys.

The answer is yes, of course, but, yeah, it's a beautiful night for football. We've got a good crowd coming in. The big blue band is here. They're now playing after senior night is over, and so we've got a good night of football coming up, that's for sure. 51 degrees here in Oxford, Alabama. It's supposed to be 45 around fourth quarter, Mike Albertson, in a game like this one, one of the keys, you need to get to that fourth quarter. Make it a four-quarter game. Stay within striking distance on the road and then call your shot.

Oh, absolutely. In this situation, you know, you're against a very good team. You're on the road. You know, keeping that game close is super important. Really keeping yourself in that game into the fourth quarter, almost cast a little doubt on that home team, take their fans out of it a little bit. You have an opportunity to make a big play, and, you know, you're within striking distance. You're going to make this a game, and on the road especially, especially in an atmosphere like this, this is going to be huge.

If you can make that a fourth quarter game, that team might, on the other side, might get a little tight and start doubting themselves. You know, you come away with a victory here, and you kind of have a lot to look forward to. Mike, I'm going to jump in with you. We're going to play dual color analyst for a minute. I'm going to come into your lane. Haven't done that all season. Trick plays. I love the trick play. I have grown up loving the trick play.

Ever since I was a little boy and had what they call talking football sets, showing how old I am, and they used to have a play called gadget plays, and I would run it all the time. I've always been a fan of the trick play. There's a time and a place for the trick play. When to call it, knowing how to call it, that's a big part of being a good offensive coordinator, when to pull that out. Absolutely, you know, and opportunities will present themselves, you know, especially in close games.

I mean, we've seen it at all the levels. You know, you saw Sean Payton do it in the Super Bowl one time with an onside kick to start the half. We had, you know, we had Nick Saban in the fourth quarter calling that one in Arizona against Clemson to secure the national title. So, you know, when those opportunities arise, you hit it, you look like a genius, but if they don't work, look out. You know, that's the other flip side. But when those opportunities present themselves, especially in a hard-fought battle, a close game like that, that could propel your team to victory.

Alvin Briggs, former head coach. Jamie Dubose, former head coach. I'll go all the way to Will Hester, former head coach. Hey, Wiley McKellar, who was the offensive coordinator under Wade Waldrop. Brett Mask, who was offensive coordinator last year, now head coach, done a great job, by the way, at Lexington. Congratulate him. And now Cade McGuire. I just want to apologize to all of them for all the trick plays I've seen every week. Hey, coach, have you thought about running this one? This would be a good one here.

I've always said, hey, there's one to run. I will say this. The only coach, can you guess which coach, bought in and said, hey, we're going to run it, we're going to do it, and it worked. Anybody want to guess? Who was here the shortest amount of time? That would not be it. I did not ask you into that conversation. You're in the wrong lane. Let's go with the other side. I think it was when you were actually on the sidelines. You did call a fake at one point.

Well, accidentally, that's a great story. I called a fake by accident. I told some kids on the sideline, the long snapper in the up back, and the punter, I said, hey, we're in fake punt range. If we don't get this first down, it could be fourth and two, fourth and one. Get ready. We could fake a punt right here. That was not my call. I just said, be prepared. We lost seven yards. It's fourth and eight. The coach hollers out, punt team, punt team. We go out and execute one of the most beautiful fake punts you've ever seen.

[42:14] Go down the sideline, touchdown. Team goes crazy. Fight songs played. The head coach says to the rest of the coaches, who called the fake punt? They said, the preacher did. They said, don't let the preacher call fake punts anymore, but it worked the one time I called it. I'll say that, so I had a lot of fun with it. But I do think it's part of the game, and I think it's something you could see tonight for the Florence Falcons. Have a little fun. Open up the game plan, see what happens, and have a little fun with it going forward.

John, let's talk about this Oxford team. They can be intimidating. I mean, you look at them. It's just their stature, their size, and their charisma. Florence has to show they can answer that physicality. How do they do that early? Kevin, you're saying they got riz, huh? Yes, they do. All right. So, you're right. They can be an intimidating team. Certainly on film, you've got some guys that they look the part. They're the all-bus team. They get off the bus first and scare their other team. We've got guys that are 300, 6'5", 6'5", 300.

We've got a couple of linebackers that look like they're cut out of granite. But, you know, this is your own hostile territory, but these guys can be beaten. The past two years, they've lost four games in two seasons. This year, they've already lost four games. And three of the teams beat them by an average of 30 points. So, while these guys are certainly good, they're not invincible, and it's been demonstrated this year. So, the Falcons can absolutely come out and win this ball. They have to play like they can win, but they keep this close in the fourth quarter, and they're going to put a lot of pressure on this Yellow Jackets.

J.J., down on the sideline, Jeffrey Jones, how did the team seem in warm-ups? Hey, we're in the Star Spring, Alabama, right, quickly. Let me get back with you. Okay, we'll take your time out. Kevin Johnson here on the TNT fireworks pregame show as the Oxford High School band plays the alma mater. They also had a chorus to sing the national anthem. We apologize. We didn't read it. We were waiting for the band to come out to play it, and there was a group of about 12 students that absolutely knocked it out of the park.

[47:15] So our apologies to them. Didn't realize that was happening here in the booth. We're high atop and closed windows. We just opened them up here, get everything ready. So for tonight's big game, let's talk about it. Jeffrey Jones on the sideline. How did the Falcons team seem? Were they pretty loose? They were very loose. They, you know, game 10, they were worn up like it was game 10. It's clockwork with them now. They got done a little bit early. That's my only concern is we went in early because it's senior night for Oxford.

But, you know, I just poked my head in their locker room, too. They're pretty focused. Everyone's just relaxing, waiting until it's time. It's not time to peak yet. We've still got about 13 minutes until kickoff, so we'll be good there. Potential starting lineups for the Florence Falcons tonight. Let's start at outside linebackers. Bo Burski, a junior, 6'1", 210, had an outstanding season. He wears number 26. He is in the backfield a lot. When he gets called upon, he is a great blitzer. He can make a lot of havoc.

At the bandit position will be Derek Peters, 6'1", 208, a junior. Wears number three. On the other side, he's had a good season. In the middle, you have the guys named Zoe Martin, middle linebacker. Wears number 25. A two-time All-Stater. You and I commit. Led this Falcons team for a couple of years. 6'2", 10, and an outstanding player. Jaden Irons will be there beside him. Wears number 23. He's junior, 6'2", 205. Jaden not 100% this week, though. I think you'll see a lot of Chase Winkles as well. The sophomore linebacker who is only going to get better and better.

He just locks up and plays well on the inside. So, I think you'll see Winkles in there at linebacker tonight as well. Down below, the three front on the 3-4. Jonathan Perkins is on one side. Mo Smith on the other. These two defensive tackles have been outstanding. The senior, Perkins, 6'2", 35. Wears number 34. Smith, a junior, 5'11", 250. Wears number 96. But, guys, I cannot say enough about the guy on the inside, the nose guard. Only a sophomore, 6'3", 265. Jaden White wears number 95. Mike, he has had game after game where he has just been absolutely incredible.

He absolutely has. It's been just amazing to see as the season has gone on. I mean, he had impact from game one. You know, normally a sophomore comes in and, you know, he shows some flashes, but he's had an impact for this team the entire season. Playing that nose guard position is not easy at the 7A level, and he's really stepped in there and just done a phenomenal job. The Falcons then will go to the cornerbacks. Jay Shot Pearson will be at one cornerback, the senior, 5'9", 165 pounds.

The senior's been outstanding. We look for him in leadership, and he'll play some offense as well. Jekyll and Jones has been great. The cornerback will be tested tonight, though, against one of the best wide receivers in the state of Alabama, and Mr. Taylor, you'll hear about from Oxford tonight. Jones is 5'10", 160 a junior. He's had a couple of interceptions and fumble recoveries and caused a couple of fumbles this year as well, as has Jay Shot Pearson. The safety tonight, Otis Sistrunk will wear number 6'1", 205 a junior.

He'll be called upon to have a big game as well. And then also in the depth, we'll have West Fuqua, 6'1", 165 sophomore. We'll play some there as well. Obviously, we're hoping for Walt Barrett to be out there tonight. Walt gave it a go, not quite ready. We wish him the best, so I doubt that he'll be there tonight. But he is a fighter. He also picked him in and tweaked his knee a little bit, so we hope that he gets well and will be back very soon in that one.

When you look at this Falcons team on defense, though, continue to show that they have a lot of potential game in and game out. They can do their job. Absolutely. You know, this Falcon team has shown, you know, some depth, especially in many areas. They continue to work hard and practice hard, and they're prepared for this game. Really well. Tonight, Florence and Oxford meet for the fourth time. Oxford leads the series 3-0. Matter of fact, one of the few teams, I think, that has shut out the Falcons from any victories through three games.

Oxford won last year 34-10 at Brawley Stadium. Want to give a big shout-out to our good friends at Garner Pierce Auto as well. For our vehicle and our away games, they took care of us tonight. They'll take care of you. Garner Pierce Auto, Florence Boulevard in Florence. Let's take one more time out before we get closer to kickoff. It's the TNT Fireworks pregame show on 93.9 The Score. Oh, Kevin Johnson, friends, glad to be with you.

Here on the road at Oxford. Should be a great matchup tonight. The Oxford Band on the field entertaining this home crowd tonight on senior night, so you'll hear them in the background quite a bit. I'm going to go down to Jeffrey Jones, though. Jeffrey, tonight, what do you think the key for the Florence Falcons is to bring out a victory? Not being intimidated by this nice facility and not being intimidated by some of these players that we played them last year. You know, it seems like there's a Mims around every corner here.

And so far, all the Mims I've seen, they've been good. So we played some good competition. I mean, this team is – they're not going to be our best – they're not going to be the best team we play outside our region. Let's just put it that way. So as far as being intimidated, we're a 7-day school. We've been a 7-day school. We've seen it all. We just got to get out here and play our game and not let anything distract us. We've got to line up right.

We've got to assignment football. The offensive line's got to step up, show up tonight like they have the last few games. And then the defensive backs, we're going to be missing one. So we're going to have to account for extra man – extra work in the backfield too. Let's look at the potential starting lineup for the Florence Falcons offense. Jacob Harper will be the center. 5'11", 225, sophomore, where's number 55. He's really come a long way, really played well. Michael Shaines will be on one side, the left guard, 5'10", 220, a senior, where's number 52.

Drayon Moore, 5'10", 255, junior, where's number 51, will be on the other side of guard. The left tackle will be J.D. Lewis, 6'4", 220, a junior, and he'll wear number 56. And then the big man, Tavarius Reeder, 6'1", 275, will be wearing number 77 at right tackle. The quarterback, Cade Davis, he's 6'4", 215, he's 84 of 130 of the season, 1174 yards, passing 5%. He had not thrown an interception since August until last week he threw one late in the game when his arm got hit. That was his first interception in over, well, almost two months, almost completely.

So he's been really careful with the football. So we'll look for Cade Davis to have a big night tonight as well on the road. Wide receivers for him, Jimmy McDonald, number 76'1", 170. Let me take a moment and talk about Jimmy McDonald. Jimmy McDonald and I had never really met until this week. I got to meet him one day, talked to him. It was yes, sir, no, sir. It was very polite. It was a well-spoken young man that just carried himself well. But when we finished the interview, just for a few minutes, he turned around and said, hey, appreciate what y'all do, too.

That's a small thing, but to me it takes a lot of maturity about that young man. Jimmy McDonald, pretty special guy. Let's go down to midfield. The captains are meeting. Jeffrey Jones, take it away. All right, guys, my name's Kenneth Breen. I'm going to be the white hat. That's Jason Boatman. He's going to be the umpire, okay? All I stress is sportsmanship, okay? He goes to both teams. That includes us, too. All right, Florence, you're visiting the team. You're going to call an air. Alabama High School Athletic Association is going to be head.

Tails, what's your choice? Tails. He called Tails. He called Tails. Reader. His head. Number one, Taylor. We're going to receive. Number two, E. Oxford's going to get the ball starting the game. Oxford gets the toss of the coin. They want the ball. It's week 10 or week 11, game 10 for the Florence Falcons. A Thursday night. Happy Halloween. Can the Falcons pull off a kick on Oxford tonight? We're about to find out. Show continue. Flavor is calling at Lost Pizza Company Shoals. Introducing the new limited-time-only margarita pizza. [58:16] Hennigar Johnson and Layton Insurance and Carbine Construction. Now let's go to the press box for tonight's game. Here's the voice of the Florence Falcons, Kevin Johnson. Gorgeous night, the night before Halloween, and the Falcons have come to Oxford to knock on the door and say trick or treat, and the Falcons want to pull off an upset against the favored Yellow Jackets and end the season at six and four, but it will be a tough, tough road to hoe against a really good Oxford team tonight. The Falcons wearing the road whites, blue numerals, blue helmets, Oxford will be in the old black jerseys, black and gold, that is.

Just picture, like I said, Georgia Tech with gold helmets and that old gold. It's a beautiful looking uniform. They'll be to our right coming through their sign as well on senior night for them. And so should be a good matchup. Let's get our final thoughts from our two color analysts and our statistician. I'll go to our statistician first. John, key player for Florence tonight that they have to keep an eye on on the other team. Yeah, without a doubt, it's Jalen Taylor, wide receiver, six foot, about 175 pounds.

He is a Division I athlete. He's got averaging 120 yards on the season, 17 total touchdowns. If we can get him slowed down, the Falcons have a chance. Mike, which Falcon needs to shine tonight? I mean, I think it's the same Falcon that's shined, you know, each and every week this year. I think Zoe Martin is going to have to have a huge game here for the Falcons. The lights flickering. The Yellow Jackets have taken to the field with a band in all their facilities out here. Everyone, cheerleaders, dancers, everything, flags.

It's quite a festive atmosphere for Oxford. Across the way, the Falcons with a nice road crowd considering how far it is to be here tonight. Lots of parents and a few fans here cheer on the Falcons. Florence will kick it away to Oxford who won the toss and said, we don't want to defer, we want the ball here and now. They think that they can come out and set the tone with their offense. This Falcon team will be tested against a very talented Oxford team. Big on the outside, it tackles two guys that are over 6'3", 275.

Both of them have Division I prospects all over them. Also, wide receivers, you heard Taylor, who is tremendous, wears number one. He is phenomenal. Marshall wants him. Already has him committed right now. He comes into this game with 66 receptions. I'll give you an idea. We have, I think, our leading receiver, Jimmy McDonald, has had a tremendous season. Has like 40 receptions. He has 66 receptions for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. This Falcon team will be facing against a quarterback, Maddox Mims, the younger brother of Mason Mims, who was outstanding last year.

The sophomore will be the quarterback. And they have two running backs, including Caleb Wynn, who's committed to South Alabama. We'll keep an eye on him. Falcons about to kick it away. And look like they're going to try to chip it away if they can. But the official comes in and blows the whistle before the Falcons can kick it away. Not sure why. So Greenhall lined up to kick it off. Going to kick it towards the Oxford sideline, it looks like. And he pooches it to the right side.

And going to be taken around the 25-yard line by the Yellow Jackets to the 30. Trying to bounce upside to the 40. And they get to the 42, maybe 43-yard line. And that's where Oxford have it. They get a good return out to the 43. You're listening to Florence Falcon football. Let's pause for station identification. The voice of the Florence High School Falcons, WYTK-FM. Rogersville, Athens, Decatur, the Shoals, 93-9. The score. What the heck? So Florence will come out on defense facing against this really good Oxford team. One back in the backfield for the quarterback, Mims.

Gets the snap. Going to lead with his back up the middle. Bounces far across the 45 to the 50. And still pushing far to the 45. He'll get 11 right up the middle. And that was way too much yardage there, Mike. Yeah, it was a good job by the running back there to let his blocker set up a little bit. He kind of stayed behind his pads. And it just really went downhill. Took a couple Falcons with him for a first down. Caleb Wynn. They go tempo five wide. Now no backs in the backfield.

Now Wynn will come back to the backfield. Get the handoff. Bad snap. Quarterback finally has to get it. Retrieve it. Mims is running. Going to try to get out of bounds. Knocked out of bounds hard right in front of the Oxford bench after a gain of two. So that was a break for Florence. He couldn't handle the snap. But he's still got a yard maybe. Well, depending on where it marks. A one yard to the 44. Knocked out of bounds by Ja'Kyle and Jones. That could have been a disaster for Oxford.

Could have been the break Florence needed. Right. That was good hands by Mims there to just kind of tip that one up in the air. He was able to grab it and make something out of nothing. Four wides. One back in the backfield. Second down and nine. Put a man in motion and Wynn. Look to the right. Think about throwing it to him. Lobbing it out there complete. At the line of scrimmage. Falcons are on it. He gets away from one. But he can't get away from two or three.

He'll only get two. Out to the 42-yard line in Falcon territory. But he brings up third down and six. And Jeffrey Jones, that's good coverage by the Falcons right there. Yes, great job by the outside linebacker. Just closing in on it and using the sideline to his advantage. Taylor, the wide receiver that's so good, will be in the slot. He'll come to the left along with Jekyllis Williams. One wide, two wide receivers right. Three now, five wide. Back to pass. Look to throw quick. Set it up and knocked down and knocked away.

[1:03:42] Right at the line of scrimmage. Guess who? Number 95 again. There's the sophomore. Jaden White pops it back in the backfield. And Florence will force fourth down. That was a great job by Jaden White to really force himself in there. And he was watching the quarterback. Stuck his hand right up there. Popped that ball right in front of that ball. Knocked it down for him. Oxford thought about going for it. Now they run their punt team out. Back deep will be Pearson. You've got to be alert to anything on fourth and seven in Falcon territory.

They get a snout back, quick snout, and punt it away. High-hanging punt. Pearson calls for the fair catch. And he's hit. That should be a flag. As he was hit, trying to get it. Now the flag's fall. I threw one from the booth. Finally they come, and that will be a 15-yarder. And the kid just took a shot at J-shot afterwards. And another flag. This one may be against Florence, though. Florence said something to leave in the field. No, that kid popped J-shot right in the face after that play.

If that's not – if they don't toss that kid, that's not good. I just saw a flag fly, and all I saw was white jersey. So now they're going to have to straighten out. There was one three-flag stone for the interference of the punt return at the 15-yard line. They hit J-shot to the ground when J-shot got up. The kid hit him in the face again. We're going to take Mike's word. Jeffrey Jones, you had a side of it as well. Great job by J-shot. You know, he kind of ran into that guy to make sure he was interfered with.

So those first penalties were obviously interference, catch interference. But, you know, there was some tossing going on. I hope they don't offset these. I don't think they will. But they're talking about it for a good long while out here on the 12-yard – or 15-yard line. So I know one 15-yarder for sure has to go against Oxford. The question is that maybe they're talking about would that Oxford kid be tossed if he was the one that hit somebody. Pass interference – or catch interference. And after the play.

And another sportsman like it against Oxford. Offset him. Offset him on that. That's trash. So it's 15-yarder. So they'll do the offsetting. Florence might have said something back the other way, but we don't know. But either way, there will be a 15-yarder. And Florence will have it first and 10 at the 31. And Kay Davis will bring the offense out. Going left to right here at Oxford Stadium. Gorgeous sight. Gorgeous night for high school football in the state of Alabama. Wearing the all-whites. And Florence comes out and has all their linemen run to the left side.

Only three in the middle. They've got Emory and Henry. They throw it to the sideline and incomplete. Davis was trying to get outside and try to pull a little trick play to start the game. But it couldn't complete the pass. It brings up second down and 10. Well, I knew they would think about it. I didn't know they would open the game with it. Yeah, it was an interesting look right off the bat. It was – unfortunately, it didn't – Had a nice little look to it. Had a lot of blockers out there.

Emory and Henry is what they call it when all the linemen go that way. This time, conventional set. Shotgun formation. Four-man front for the Oxford Yellow Jackets. Going to lead with the tailback this time. Get a little run rim across the 30 to the 32. Getting about two there. Hines on the carry. The sophomore getting a start tonight. Brings up a third down and eight. Jeffrey Jones, if we could have completed that first down pass, he had some running rim. He was there. That play was – it was a good call.

Good play. They just didn't execute. You can't short hop him. That's what happened. Just not an accurate throw. He had the blockers downfield. It was a well-drawn-out play. I almost say run it again. See what happens. Trips to the left of the wide side. Straight drop. Throw the quick out complete. Trying to get inside on the screen. Not much running room there. And Falcons going to lose yardage. Right back to the line of scrimmage. Going to bring up fourth down and nine. Falcons could not get that one going anywhere.

I think it might have been Pearson on the catch. But either way, it'll be fourth down and Florence will have to punt it away. Notice this Oxford team, they substitute liberally on kick teams. And back deep, the dangerous Taylor will stand at the 40-yard line. Shevanada to punt it away. Fourth and 10. Good snap. Gets it away. Line drive. And Taylor's going to have a chance at the 38. Makes one of minutes at the 40 flag. Going to play and knock down at the 40-yard line. And let's wait and see.

But back here by Shevanada, we may have something going on there. Shevanada was undercut. It's probably going to be a five-yarder. It's got to be a 15. Oh, well, okay. He hit his plant foot. He got blocked into him, though. I'm not going to tell the ref that. But that's what happened. Just stay quiet over there, okay? All right. We'll see. Now, it could be a five-yarder, 15-yarder. They're disgusting. He hit his plant foot. That's dangerous play. And the way they're walking back with the football, I think you may be right, Mike, that it could be a 15-yarder and a first down.

As a matter of fact, the offense for Florence is circling back up outside thinking it is. And it's going to be a 15-yarder against Oxford. And a new fresh set of downs, that's like a turnover, Mike Albertson. Yeah, that absolutely is. It's like, you know, muffing the punt as you're trying to get, you know, get possession or something like that. But, yeah, like it was one of those plays. The kid was super aggressive. But once that ball's kicked away, you can't hit the kicker's plant leg right there.

[1:08:53] And Chivinata was undercut pretty bad. I'm glad he was able to get up under his own steam. But the Falcon offense is back out there. McDonald wide to the left. Two wide outs here to the right. On the first down play at the 46, no score. Going to lead with his tailback. Hines cuts back across, trying to get back to the line of scrimmage. And we'll only get to the line of scrimmage. Just to get back to the line of scrimmage, I know that sounds weird, but he was hit about three yards deep and was able to cut up.

Just barely get back. Pearson and to the right. McDonald wide to the left. Hines is the tailback for Cade Davis. It's on the second down, 10 play at the 45. No score, 845 to go in the first. And Falcons move. They shot, got a running start. And that's five yards against Florence. Even you, as soon as you do it. And that's a little bit of not playing as much offense right there. Right. You know, every once in a while, you sub in some of these players and they're ready to go.

They're super amped up to be on the opposite end of the ball. And a five-yard penalty. Not a great situation for second down. Jackson Newton will come in at defensive end for Oxford. He's a pass rush specialist. Where's number three? First and 15. Second and 15, excuse me. Back to pass again. Looking before that, they said the Falcons moved early again. That was a benefit for the Falcons, unfortunately. Because the black jersey caught that one. Yep. That ball was tossed and he jumped the route right away. That play was blown dead.

But we had a guy moving before the ball was snapped. He wasn't set. Nerves here. 8.23 to go. No score. But Falcons going the wrong way. After gifts from Oxford have the ball. Second. First day. Goolsby wide right. Pearson. Up again by Davis. Wants to throw down the sideline. One on one. And over through his. Brings up. Full route. Had a chance at it. Couldn't bring it in. So, it'll be third down for Florence. Yeah. He was. Actually, it was a little corner strout there. Where Jimmy was fading out towards that sideline.

It went a few yards beyond Jimmy's reach. Nice play. Nice thought. Jimmy was able to beat his guy a little bit. But that pass was. Third and 20. You want to be. He played 12. Early in it. All over his back. Who hit him early. And that's going to be a flop. And another 15 yarder. And another pass interference. And another. I believe it's automatic first down. I'm not sure. We'll double check. I do not believe. That is. So, we'll double check. It was a third and five. Third and five after the 15 yarder.

It's not a spot foul. So, it will be a 15 yarder against Oxford up to midfield. Into Oxford territory at the 49. But now you're on the road. Third and five. And you could be in four down territory. The only way we've moved the ball so far is through penalties. So, I mean, we can't really keep banking on that. We've got to strike at some point here. 7.49 to go. McDonald wide to the left. Pearson's in the slot. Don't forget in there. Tied in right now. Shepard as well.

He's in that H-back position. Now, Pearson will come to the right to the slot. Goolsby will wide right. Play clock just started. So, we've got plenty of time. 7.33 and counting here in the first. Now, Shepard will move to the left side against the four-man front. Straight drop by Davis. Throws the quick pattern and almost intercepted. But caught by Falcons right at the 45. Let's see. It'll be almost a first down. It'll be short by a yard. They are really playing onto the ball a lot. Right. Well, you know, that's something that we've shown a lot on film.

And they've been able to jump it right away. That's one of those now. You know, you can throw a fake off that and get a little pump and go afterwards. You know, they're all over that one. Falcons go heavy package. Fourth and inches to go. Going to look to give it to Martin off the right side. Stays behind the block. Got the first down. He'll push forward up to the 42-yard line. And that'll move the chains. So, Florence taking advantage of miscues on penalties by Oxford.

Has it first and 10. We'll call it the 43-yard line. But, hey, you got a first down. Keep moving that ball. Keep running that clock. This is what you want. Right. Oxford's giving them a couple of opportunities here to keep this drive going. And you've got to take advantage of those situations. So, the Falcons getting the first down. It's huge. Being able to flip the field a little bit. Get that ball on the opposite end of the 50. And now it's trying to take a couple shots here.

[1:14:11] Get some green grass and maybe a touchdown. 12 on the play clock as the team gets the signals in. McDonnell wide left. Watch him a hitch and go to the left. Shepard will move to the left now. First down play. Going to leave with Hines off the left side. Cuts it up the middle. Got a little running room to the 40. Give him about two on that one. And he's quickly caught there. It's a big Oxford team, John McDaniel. They are big up front and they're really quick to the ball.

Yeah, they're playing really well. They're not listed overly big, but they're playing really strong. They're standing our blocks up, extending, and really just kind of owning the line of scrimmage so far. And by the way, Britt coming out a little injured. He coming out, taking his helmet off the star South Carolina commit. For Oxford, he'll be replaced. So, second down and eight to go for the Falcons at the 42. Making second down and nine. Davis, the quarterback, with one back in the backfield. This time, going to leave with his back again.

Sutterstep got a run into the 40, into the 38-yard line, to gain him about three or four there. That's the best run we've seen so far, Mike. Yeah, that was a good run there by Oxford. Sorry, excuse me. I was watching an Oxford player, you know, have a little scrum with his own player on the sideline. So, I got a little distracted there. But that was a good run by the Falcons, making this a third and five. A little infighting on the sideline there. We'll bring up third.

We'll call it maybe even sixth at the 39. The Falcons have to touch the 33. Five minutes, no score here in the first quarter. Two wideouts left, one to the right. See if the Falcons do the hitch and go here. Blitz coming. Straight drop by Davis. Throws it quickly. Got it out to McDonald. Try to make one man miss. Does. Goes down the sideline and hit right at the 35. He'll be short of the line to gain, but it's manageable. Jeffrey Jones about two or three yards short. Yeah, it looks like it's going to be fourth and two.

And it looks like we're standing on the field. Fourth and two. And a heavy package will come back out. Jaden White will be tied in. Zoe Martin will be in there as well. Burski will be in there on the fourth down and two play. Watch for Burski leaking out here. Let's see if this happens. Again, this time going to give it. No, going to pass. Roland Davis needs to throw it. Throws it and it's incomplete. He had pressure coming. Couldn't hardly find anyone open. Give Oxford credit.

They've covered it up. And it's going to be a turnover for Lawrence. Yeah, it looked like he had Jaden White along the hash mark. It was just very difficult for him to make that throw. He had three guys pursuing him at that point. But, you know, tough break there for the Falcons. But now we've got our defense on the field. John, you saw that White had a chance if he could have seen him early on. Well, when he put the fake in, he should have whipped his head around right quick.

He had him open right after he faked his O. But he was trying to outrun the edge and just didn't have enough time. Really good call, good execution. But it just didn't pan out for the Falcons. Let's see about this sudden change for our defensive guys. Taylor's in the slot. You've got to know where he is at all times. He is the main guy on the first and ten play. He'll come in motion now to this left side. It's a long count here for Oxford. They're going to roll to the left, want to throw, look to throw the sit-down route.

Can't. Now he has to throw it down to the sideline, trying to get a man out there. And it's caught. Stepped in bounds at the 31. That's a tremendous throw and catch from the quarterback, Mims, there. He looks down the sideline. He finds his wide receiver wide open. Not wide open. Andre Ford. To be able to spin that ball on the run like that was absolutely ridiculous. He was rolling out through against his shoulder, which was extremely difficult, and throw it through a perfect dime right in that place.

Only where the receiver can catch it. That was a beautiful play. Gain of about 25 at the 32. The Oxford Yellow Jackets knocking on the door. They look right past inside. Complete on the screen. Got it to 30 to the 25. And finally steps away. Still on his feet to the 20. Coming down the sideline and knocked out of bounds at the 14. That was again. Taylor shows his speed. They give him the ball in space, and he can go. John is impressive. He is a tremendous athlete. We saw it on film, but I didn't know.

You don't ever know when you're watching film if they're as good as you think. This guy's better than I thought. He is really explosive. Very explosive. So, 355 to go, and now the Yellow Jackets at the 12-yard line of Florence. One back in the backfield is Wynn. Wynn's going to get it off the left side. Don't want to throw. Across the middle. And that time going in tight. And it might have been caught. Nope. Knocked away. Incomplete. Brings up second down. Good defense by the Falcons right there.

Pearson and friends come up and said, no, sir. Right. Pearson. Receive it, and, you know, being able to knock that ball down was huge in that moment. Jeffrey Jones, that was a little pick play for Taylor out there a little bit. Yeah, it was. You know, we played it pretty well, and the ball was in the air for a little bit of time. But, you know, we got to stay on that and watch that. They're going to do that again. Second goal at the 10. No back to the backfield for Mims, the quarterback.

Rolls to the right, throws the quick out, complete to Taylor, trying to cut it inside to the 10. He hit it to seven, and he'll push it right at the seven-yard line. Gain him about three. Good game tackling over there by Florence. John McDaniel, go back to that last play before that, though. You saw something to come drive. Kevin, do you remember back in the Super Bowl several years ago, Malcolm Butler for the Patriots ran a play. That is the same play. They tried to run a pick on Jayshod really hard, but he fought in under it instead of over it and managed to get there in time to knock the ball away.

[1:19:33] Know where Taylor is on the field. I've got him to the left right now. Wide to the left, I believe it is. Two to the right. No backs in the backfield. Third down and six to go. At the seven-yard line. Bim's going to run the quarterback draw up the middle to the five. He's hit hard at the four. He's going to be short. He hit the five-yard line, and somebody stuck him and let him know that Florence is here. I think. Did the ball come loose?

Yeah, it came loose. I just, they're going to give it back to them. It was a stick by Burski, who absolutely tattooed him. And now, yeah, that body that you saw flying was the ball carrier, and the ball stayed on the turf. And the Oxford Yellow Jackets recovered. So, the Yellow Jackets scoreless with 2.40 to go will attempt a 22-yarder dead center. Eli Pestnell is the kicker. Good snap, good hold. The kick is on the way, and the kick is good. New score with 2.28 to go. Oxford takes the lead, 3-0.

That last drive from our statistician, John McDaniels. Kevin, six plays, 64 total yards. Minute 39 that came off of the clock, and a 22-yard field goal by Pestnell. Good stand by the Falcon defense. A win there, just giving him a field goal. Here's the kickoff. It'll be taken by the Falcons at the 20, the 25 to the 30, and top down at the 32 is tripling.

But, and a flag on the play will hold it right there at the 32-yard line. Jeffrey Jones on the sideline, though. That's a win for this Falcon defense to hold there and not give up a six. Yeah, John said during the break, you know, it was good of us to stand up to them. You know, that was a good hold. Good, because, you know, they were driving pretty well. When they got down to the 12, they were looking really good. So, to tighten up the defense like that was great.

We're going to have a pretty good field position right here. Well, actually, yeah, we just got a 10-yard penalty. Block in the back. We'll take it back to the 22. But still, the Falcons have it 78 yards away. That was definitely a win, a win for the defense there. 2.22 to go. Florence trails Oxford 3-0. We see the talent of Oxford, but we also see the vulnerability a little bit of Oxford. The more this stocking team hangs around, the more they gain some confidence. Let's see if they can do that again here.

Got to take care of the football. These Oxford DBs have been really aggressive on the pass plays. Trips to the left, one back in the pistol formation behind the quarterback, Davis. Davis going to leave it with his back off the right side. Stays with the block behind there and couldn't get around Hines, maybe to the 23-yard line. But a flag thrown right in the place where you might see Holden against Florence. We'll see what they say. It was right there on the Oxford sideline and trying to run that stretch play to the right side and couldn't hold the block and got caught pulling the jersey.

That's so hard to do for these high school kids to stay on that block that long. So they're bringing up second down in 20, or will they stay first down in 20 or second down in 10? They're going to take the penalty. Oxford will take the penalty, that is, and move it back to the 12-yard line. Kevin, for the Falcons, when our offensive guys are trying to stretch that extra effort out on the outside, when they go to disengage, we haven't been practiced enough to. They just sent our center off.

So Harper will have to go off. Falcons have to move. I'm not sure what happened there, but maybe an equipment problem there, we'll check. He's walking around there. We'll find out about that. Three-line more coming in. And Reader's coming in. Reader will move it to center. So you've got to keep an eye on that. Every time you move a center around, that's not good. Give it inside again to his tailback. Nowhere to go, and he's going to be hit right at the line of scrimmage. Oxford right now winning the line of scrimmage, and that's something that you see early on.

You've got to win that if you're going to have a chance. And right now, Florence not manning up enough. Second down and 20. Kevin, we've had luck in the past really throwing to loosen up for the run. These guys are playing so tight, we might be getting a lot of one-on-one coverage. Not sure why the stoppage is here. Second down, and an official is talking to somebody. I'm not sure who it is. Across the way, a flag was thrown around the 10-yard line, and not sure what it was.

Unfortunately, the official doesn't look like he's sure what it is either. Yeah, we lined up too many men in the backfield. All right, so if they lined up that way, are they going to take the penalty or are they going to decline it? That's the question. They never said. They're going to march it off. So it's still going to be, they're going to make it, what, first and 25 now? Is that correct, guys? I mean, we're going in the wrong direction either way. We're inside the 10, but the wrong way.

[1:24:59] Now I think Oxford's coaches and staff are saying that we wanted to decline the penalty. We were working with a seven-man crew, which means you have seven opinions instead of five. That is a part of it too. But the penalty was before the play, so first and 25. So Davis will stand at the one-yard line to get the snap, and Hines will be to the left of him, and now the white hat, the one that's out on the field, will put us in play. Back to pass, looking, blitz coming, hitting the backfield.

He's going to be sacked on the safety. The safety will come. They get Davis. He had nowhere to go with it, and he is sacked. And two points for the defense, and it's five to zero, and it's Mr. Britt who came in, who beat this man, gets in and gets the safety, and now the Falcons are going to have to punt it away. They went backwards, penalty, penalty, penalty, safety.

That's one way you score points the wrong way. Just not the night for the Falcons there in a wrong possession. And Florence will now have to kick it off Greenhall. We'll have the honors. He'll boot it deep as he can, but he'll be taken by Oxford at the 30-yard line. And that's Taylor up to the 40. For the 45, instead of at the 50-yard line, actually, it's going to be not Taylor bringing it back, but I'll be English coming up there. But he gets in Falcon territory at the 48.

A safety mic at high school level can really be two scores in one because kickers can't kick it as deep in great field position, and you're in deep trouble now. Right. You know, and the Falcons, you know, they've weathered storms before, but, you know, giving up that field goal was a victory and then just instant defeat by giving up that safety. So, you know, the momentum's all in Oxford's favor right now. This defense needs to come up with a big play. Win, I think, still the tailback.

We'll check. It could be Dupree, but I think it's still win to the left. Man emotions Taylor. They're going to look to give it inside and miss it up, and he fumbled it, picked it up. Taylor still has it, trying to get outside, and Florence stretches him out and runs him out of bounds at the 50-yard line. Wes Fuqua pushes him out of bounds. He'll lose two or three yards. Nice job by the Falcons. This Oxford team is trying to help the Falcons out all we can if we'll take advantage of it.

You know, while they have several athletes and everything, they are not playing their best game by any stretch of the imagination. They've had a lot of miscues as well. It's, you know, they've kind of kept the Falcons in it, to be honest. And Taylor seems to be their safety net. He's a good one, but he is that special. Second down and 13 to go now. Four, the Yellow Jackets at the 49. Going to leave it inside with Wynn, trying to bounce it to the left. Falcons come up and tackle him right there at the line of scrimmage.

Great job by Ja'Kylan Jones coming up from the corner position and stretching him down. Loss of two, make it third and 15. Now in Jeffrey Jones, this Falcon defense starting to come to life a little bit. Yeah, the defense is – that was great. They're holding us in there. That was a good job recognizing the run. Now, y'all mentioned it. They do have some pretty good athletes. We can contain them, though. They're not running this offense to perfection, that's for sure. Watch for the screen pass here. They do a lot of things.

Keep an eye on that. Different quarterback in as well. Back to pass. Looking, looking. Steps up. Hit and not going to get the pass in. Perkins gets him, sacks him in the backfield. That's a loss of a couple yards in his Falcon defense with a three and out. Got to love that as he brings down the quarterback, Caleb Jenkins. That's a great response there by the Falcons defense, facing adversity early on, being able to bow up and make plays when they needed to. Getting this ball back is going to be huge.

Let's hope this offense carries that momentum with them. Or maybe Jay Shaw Pearson can get loose. Lawler to punt it away. Boy, he's got a good foot. Fair catch going to be taken by the Falcons at the 26-yard line. And that's where Florence will have it first and 10 at the 26-yard line. Don't forget, Saturday, no Crimson Tide football this weekend. However, we will have Florida and Georgia 230 right here on 93-9. The score, that will be a doozy. That's for sure. Florida and Georgia get together, and we'll be glad to bring you that one.

Down in, I believe, Florida. I'll have to double-check that, but I think it's still down in Florida this week. 31 seconds to go in this one. Oxford with a three-run homer and a two-run homer. Lead it 5-0 in this World Series week. That's what I was thinking, Kevin, here at the World Series. We got a 5-0 score. Still in the first inning, though. Still in the first inning, and a lot of things are going to happen. Two backs in the backfield for the quarterback, Davis. Davis looks to give it inside.

[1:30:14] Going to keep it, and Davis has to keep it, and he's going to be sacked. Busted play. Busted play. Somebody went wrong. Somebody went right. Somebody went wrong. Right now, the Falcons are trying to have trick-or-treating. They're tricking themselves. Right. You know, just at this rate, you haven't been able to figure out a rhythm and such. Let's not try to get too cute. Let's try to run an offense here. That will do it for one quarter. Florence trails at 5-0 to the Oxford Yellow Jackets. This is Falcon Football.

We want to wish Coach Morrison and the Falcon Football team good luck this season. Here's a score update. Austin leads Muscle Shoals 7-6. Rogers leading Lexington 7-0. Homewood James Clemens tied at 7. West Morgan leading Deschler 6-0. Sheffield leads Shoals Christian 16-6. Hubbertville leads Hackelberg 16-6. Athens leads Russellville 7-0. Marshall leading Scottsboro 14-0. Wilson leading Hatton 7-0. Of Tennessee, Mount Pleasant leading Loretto 9-0. And Lawrence County, James Lawson tied at 0 in college football. Marshall leads Coastal Carolina 13-10. UTSA leads Tulane 17-6. Here, three hours away from home, the Florence Falcons down on the east side of Alabama, taking on Oxford and trailing it 5-0 after one quarter.

Kevin Johnson, friends, glad to be with you. Florence will have it second down at about 15 to go. And a whistle before the snap. Pearson and Hines are at the backs in the backfield right now. One to each side of the quarterback, Davis. And they're sending a yellow jacket off or what? Not sure. Maybe they're getting the change ready. Not sure what the problem is here. Clock's ready. Everything seems set. Now they're ready to go. Seven-man crew making sure everything's straight. Two wide to the left. Hines and Gillsby and McDonald.

This time, look to give it inside. Nope, throw the quick out. Got it to Pearson. Pearson makes one man miss, but could make the second one miss. Actually, the first one got him. Drift him up. That's a tremendous play. He'll lose a yard or two. Coming up and making a play there. Beautifully there. It was English. English was able to break free as our wide receiver missed the block completely. He sprung him loose, so unfortunately, J-Shot had no room to go by. He missed those assignments, and he just leave it for an open tackle there.

The play was good. The play was there. It was there. It just didn't get executed. Now four wide outs. One back in the backfield for Davis, the quarterback. And before the snap, another whistle. I'm not sure what this is for. Swag back on the 45. We have 12 on the field, I think, for Oxford. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11. They had 12 on the field. That's a five-yard penalty. That's sneaky defense, Jeffrey Jones. If you could play with 12 every once in a while, you might have a really good defense. I thought that's not the first time that's happened tonight.

I've been counting 12 a couple times on a couple plays. I had 13 a couple times. We'll take it. I remember a few years ago, Starkville did it over and over again, especially on big plays, forcing the referees to call that. They had 12 on the field on multiple occasions. We are in East Alabama. We're getting close to Kirby Smart territory. That's all I'll say. He was just clapping. He was just clapping. Davis back to pass. Blitz coming. Davis looks, throws to the sideline. And that ball is caught right at the sticks.

It's an incredible catch by McDonald. Injured player for Oxford Brick getting up. Now, do they give him the first down? I think they do. Or do they call him short? Short by two. I think he was short. Short by a yard, maybe. He had to come back to it. What a throw by Davis. That's a long throw for an out pattern. That is a long throw for an out pattern. But beautiful job. Good timing. Great job by Jimmy to haul that one in as he was getting hit out of bounds.

They had 11-12 on the field again. If Lawrence could have snapped it there. Now they've got 11 on the field. Fourth and two. Florence will kick it away. Shevinata. High-hanging punt. That's a good one. Taylor's going to get away from that one. That ball's going to bounce. A falcon bounce inside the 15-yard line. Down inside the 13. Down at the 12. What a punt by Shevinata. Flipping the field there. He's been a tremendous weapon for Florence this year. Yeah, that was a great kick by Shevinata. But even better job of covering that one by handback.

He was right on the receiver right away. Receiver let it go. And he carried that one inside the 15. If Florence can continue to play defense well, we'll check the quarterback again. This time they'll come back to Mims, I believe, coming back out at quarterback. They switched out, put Jenkins in earlier. So, it'll be first and 10 for the Oxford Yellow Jacks. Their worst field position of the day at their own 12-yard line. They have four wide outs, one back in the backfield. Man in motion to the right side.

[1:35:27] Quick snap. We'll leave it down with his back on the inside. Trying to bounce it outside. Falcon's pretty good pursuing. He's tripped up at the 17, 18, 19-yard line. He kept getting yardage. I thought the Falcons had him, but he ends up sliding out there for about six or seven. Give him six on that. I didn't mean to say that's six and seven combined, but it just came out. Second down and three to go. He's doing the hand motions in here for you. Fifth graders everywhere going crazy right now.

They really are. So is your daughter Stella, who said to her, happy birthday this coming week. That's right. Hope she has a great birthday, Stella Jones. Second down and three to go for the Yellow Jackets. They have four wide outs, one back in the backfield. Win again. Still in the backfield there. Look to pass. Now he's in trouble. Now he throws it across the middle, and he catches it, and he loses it at the 20. They'll lose yardage. It was reception taken. Falcon defense was there. Came up, made the tackle with Sistrunk and Jones, and that's a loss of two yards, and they'll bring up, or they say incomplete.

It looks like it's a catch for a game of about a yard. Yeah, he caught it. There is no way. He was hit and knocked down at the 20. They gave him a yard on that. That is a hard progress I've never seen. I think Coach Morrison agrees with you, Kevin. That is a horrible call. He was hit back at the 20. He had to come back to catch it. But instead, it'll be fourth, a third and two. Going to leave it with his back up the middle, and he gets the first down across the 25, up to the 28-yard line.

I will say, for the first time now, that was a little home field cooking on that, but it might not have mattered anyway if the Falcon defense gives up the first down. So, a new set of downs for Oxford with 9-14 to go here in the first half, leading Florence 5-0 on, as we said, the two home runs on this World Series. Mike, who do you have winning? Is the Toronto Blue Jays going to win this thing? You know, they have as good a chance as any.

They're a real pesky team. They take extra bases. They put the ball in play. They're just really, really well, really well-played team. Empty set. Watch for them to go for Taylor big here. Leave it with his wide receiver on the sweep coming outside. Got a run rim to the 35. May have the first down around the 40-yard line to push out of bounds, but yellow handkerchiefs all over the place. And they're not gold. They're yellow. That's good for Florence right there. We got lucky on that one, KJ.

Our pursuit was not full speed right there. Thankfully, we got a hold on this receiver on the outside. And that's something I think a little confused, not know where the ball was, maybe lost the ball a little bit. Florence didn't seem to see that they was giving it away. But it is a penalty. We'll move it back. We'll wait until they mark it off. Should be around the 25-yard line. So, it'll bring up, what? 24, maybe. Second down and – or, excuse me, yep, first down still. First down and what will be about 16 yards to go.

It's about a sloppy of a quarter and some change. Yeah, yeah. That I've seen. Just penalties all over the place. You know, just not the best football I've seen this year. Chase Winkle's in now at linebacker for Florence along with Zoe Martin. Lawrence, West Fuqua playing safety tonight along with Sistra. Pearson staying with Taylor wherever he goes. Falcon show blitz. Back to pass. They want to throw the quick out and he couldn't do it. Knocked down again at the line of scrimmage. Not sure who got a paw on it.

Brings up second down. That one might have been Zoe Martin that got his hand on it. Yeah, Zoe came around the edge and popped his hands up there. It was a great heads-up play by him. But, you know, on the outside, they were going to number one there. And J-Shot had that route jumped as it was anyway. So, it almost benefited Oxford. Maddox Mims, the quarterback, a sophomore. Only 5'11". He's a smart guy. And so, he's having trouble with that. Three wide outs left. This time, he's going to run the pitch to the left side.

Trying to get outside with his running back. He hit at the 25 and tripped up at the 28-yard line. Give him a game of about four. Brings up third and ten. That was Chase Winkles coming through on the outside, being able to trip up the ball carrier there. That was a huge play for him to shrug off that block and be able to make that play. Great job. Wynn, who is a commit to South Alabama, has missed some games. But, he's back full strength. They're excited about him going into the playoffs.

Oxford next week will go to Parker. What a matchup that will be for a first-round game. Third and ten. Four wide outs, one back in the backfield. Watch for the screen. Straight drop. Looking. Wanting to throw. To the left side. Goes out there and overthrows everybody. Good job of the Falcons there. He overthrew Taylor by about 15 yards. And, they'll bring up fourth down. And, the Falcon defense, Jeffrey Jones, once again, showing they can play with his team. Yeah, we've been given another gift. You know, I mean, that's – They could have shown us up right there.

But, that was a great play by Jay Shaw. Jay Shaw was in position on defense right there. And, we're going to actually – if we can get a little bit of return on this, we might get some good field position out of this, too. We're sitting at the 45 with Jay Shaw Pearson. Lawler's a good punter. They're going to run to the punt away. High-hanging short punt can Jay Shaw get there, but he won't even get away from it. A high bounce, and it'll take a Oxford bounce.

And, that costs us about 12, 13, 14 yards right there, all the way down to the 31. Jay Shaw couldn't get to it. It was on the sideline, and it just rolled that sideline in front of Florence about 15 more yards. So, instead of the 50-yard line, we'll have it back about the 31-yard line. With 7.51 to go, down by five. I know our offense has not really shown anything yet, but a quick strike here. You could go up. Who knows? Get a lead. John, that would be huge. Yeah, certainly take some momentum into the halftime, especially since we're getting the ball coming out of the half.

[1:40:49] Kevin, that was just a tough break. It bounced as far as it was kicked, extremely short, and just seemed like it shot once it hit the turf. Tough break for the Falcons. Elliott will come to the slot to the left, along with McDonald. One back in the backfield for Cade Davis on the first down play. Davis going to leave it to his back, hit at the line of scrimmage, no gain. It looked like he had maybe something there, and then that line just closes. And, John, I mean, excuse me, Mike, I'm going to come to you.

That defensive line, but it's not just that. It's the speed of this Oxford defense. Right, you know, they're doing a good job of controlling the line of scrimmage a little bit. Our guys aren't getting so much push, but that second level is popping through those holes real quick. Jaius Fleming, the linebacker, excuse me, he is a big kid, and he lists him at 6'1", and if he's 6'1", then I'm 25 years old. I promise you that. He is much taller, much bigger. Second down and 11 to go for the Falcons.

This time, again, leave it with his back, trying to bounce it outside his hands. Got to the edge, but only for a couple yards, and then bring up third down with 7.04, 7.03 and counting. Third down and about 10, and Jeffrey Jones just tough sledding down there. You can see it up close and personal. Yeah, it's tough running to the short side of the field with no blockers out there, too. I don't know if that's a better thing or what, but that just wasn't there. Second line just got to us and was able to contain us.

So, third down play coming. Falcons might have to call a timeout here. They're a little late getting some people in. 15 on the clock. Now McDonald will go wide right. Goolsby will come to the left, along with Martin. Play clock at 6 down to 5, and I think Kenny Morrison's going to let that thing run down and call a timeout. We'll do the same, 621 to go here in quarter number two. Florence trails Oxford, 5 to 0. This is Falcon Football. We're back in 30. Hi, I'm Dr. Brady Citizen with Treehouse Children's Dentistry.

621 to go here in the half. Florence scoreless on their side. Oxford with five points. A field goal in the safety, so no touchdowns for either teams, and Florence now will face third down and 12 to go from their own 30-yard line. They have to touch the 42 to get a first down. Four wideouts for Florence. Oxford shows blitz. Florence picks it up. Davis going right sideline. One-on-one. Got a man out there, and he caught it down around the 28-yard line. That's McDonald. Pulls it in. Moved the chains all the way down.

Unbelievable throw and catch. That was a great job there, and what arm strength there by Cade Davis, being able to step into that throw. Jimmy McDonald with the concentration, with a man draped all over him, caught that one down the field. That's just an incredible play there for the Falcons. Biggest play of the night for Florence in any way offensively. And now they're in territory of Oxford. Pearson and McDonald still will stay in at wide receiver. McDonald will come to the left, and so will Pearson to the slot.

Under six minutes to go when we snap this one here in the first half. Lawrence trails 5-0, but knocking on the door at the Yellow Jacket 27. Davis trying to get the Yellow Jackets to jump. They won't go for it. Good usage of clock here. Run that clock down a little bit. Here's the blitz again. Going to leave with his back this time. Hit at the line of scrimmage and brought down, slung down at the 30. Boy, Florence looked like they had something there, and out of nowhere, that linebacker came up, and again, Fleming just having a night.

He is big and strong, and actually might have been Brett coming up off that pile, too. So you got two SEC commits at linebacker playing for Oxford. One sort of a defensive end flex, and they're showing why they're so good, too, Mike. Right. You know, they're all over the field. They've just got great instincts, and you can see why they're going to play at the next level. Second down, 13. Davis wants to pass. Quick screen. Got it to McDonald. Nowhere to go. Trying to come back to the left side.

Stays on his feet and finally drug out of bounds right in front of Oxford there at the 30. Oh, it's a late hit over there on the block. The Pearson's okay. Yeah, they're definitely coming after Jayshod on that one. Jayshod's like, come on, man. That's way late. And still, they're whiffing over there, and now having to separate some of the players. They've picked on Jayshod the entire game so far, and you can tell it's starting to get frustrated. Third and 13. Oh, number two, though, is the veteran.

[1:45:54] Watch for him to get in the end zone before it's over with. Shepard will come into the game. We're under five minutes to go in the half, trailing five to zero. Four down territory. I'll tell you what, they're friendly with the play clock here. They give you a lot of looks. Keep an eye on LaShawn Shepard here. Under center. Davis throws the quick pass out to his wide receiver. He's throwing down the field, going for Shepard in the end zone, and it's intercepted at the one-yard line.

Just underthrown. The safety at the last minute saw it. Lawler went back and caught it. And a personal foul, too. And there's flags out there. And flags on the play afterwards, I think, though, after the interception against Oxford. But it'll be an interception as McDonald tried to throw it. The play was beautiful. He might have been just a little late letting it go. Yeah, I mean, that's the danger of having players that aren't used to throwing passes throw passes, right? You know, you tricked somebody, but he got a little bit too much air under it.

And the safety was able to come back and retreat on that play and make a play. You know, I will say this, and I don't want to get too much into it, but, you know, for a team that's had as much success as Oxford, I've not been really too enthusiastic about their, maybe their attitudes and the way they carry themselves. It's not really been great so far. It's not an Oxford team I've seen in the past. I'll put it that way. And Jeffrey Jones, the play was there if we throw it a little early on the sideline.

It was there. It was thrown late. Too much air under the ball. I would have also liked to have seen a receiver that was thrown to Shepard, and he was in position, but he just couldn't turn it around and get back to the ball fast enough. Now the Falcons have them push back. Offsetting personal fouls. So at the three-yard line, they're going to stack to the right. One back in the backfield is a win. That's the Whitehats just now getting back with 4.15 to go. Wouldn't be surprised to hear if they try to get a quick pass out to Taylor and let him run with it.

But that wins the back in the backfield. As Florence has Oxford back up now at the three-yard line. Here we go. Mims puts a man in motion to the left. Wants to pass. Looking. Throws. Down the sideline. And he trips up. And it's going to be a flag. Nope. No penalty. Florence catches a break there. Because that one was a little incidental contact. Right. And they'll bring him second down and 10. Jayshod is giving him the business, too, because he's been picked on a little bit. And he was just letting him know, hey, you pushed me.

That's the incidental contact. You knocked me over. I'll give the official credit, too. It's a good signal that it's incidental. I don't think Jayshod even had his hands out when he hit the ground. He was not anticipating the trip and fall that he had. Certainly wasn't intentional to trip up the receiver. 5-0. Oxford leads it with 4.09 to go in the half. But Oxford's 97 yards away. They were trying to go for the home run ball. And they still may with Taylor. He's such a weapon. Went back in the backfield.

This time going to lead with the back up the middle. And he breaks through to the 10 and hit at the 11. Hit hard. He bounced back. He'll only be a gain of about 8. At the 12-yard line. They'll even give him maybe the 13. Bring it up third down and one. We're under four minutes to go. I would expect the same thing right here with that strong tailback and that big offensive line. I'd just like to keep an eye on the Falcons right now. The defense has played well.

Can they come up one more time in this half? Taylor's wide to the left. Pearson stays with him wherever he goes. One-on-one. Watch for the slant pattern here. Third and one play. High snap. They give it to the back. He bounces forward and got the first down at the 15. But knocked down immediately. Zoe Martin comes up. Nope. Make it Jaden White. Defensive tackle. Continues to make plays. And that one might actually give credit where it's due. That was Mo Smith. Come in and made the tackle.

It was the first down for the Oxford Yellow Jackets. Mike, though, this defense. Ben, but don't break. You've got to continue to do that. Know where number one is. You feel like you're starting to get an idea of what Oxford wants to do. Right. Early on, you know, you could tell. They were trying to throw the ball around a little bit. Now they've found some success on the ground. They're going to continue to run. Free him in motion to the right side on Taylor. Trying to get a switch.

And they do. This time I'm going to leave with the back again. They'll throw the slant across the middle and overthrow him. And now a flag comes. And maybe that was the worst one of the night. Graves. They're going to get interference on him. Maybe he was a tug of the jersey. Maybe it's holding. Let's see what they call. Well, he only has one hand to tug a jersey with because the other hand is completely wrapped up. They call interference. Yeah. I think that was a little makeup from a little woofing on the sideline in front of the Oxford bench there.

Yeah. In a vacuum, I don't think that's a penalty, but as you said, I think it's a little bit of a makeup for a couple of previous calls. So, that will be 15 yards against Florence. I'm done with makeup calls. Just get it right. Just get it right. So, it will move the chains in a sloppy first half. By the way, after one quarter of football, Columbia, eight. Hazel Green, seven. Come on, Columbia. Time to break that losing streak. Nah, keep it going. First to 10 at the 31.

[1:51:16] Going to leave with Taylor off the side. He's looking to get some running room. Come outside. Got a block. Gets to the sideline, 40, 45. Stays inbounds. Flag on the play. That's coming back. As they were holding right in front of the Florence bench. That'll move it back, though. So, even though he got an 18-yard carry, Jeffrey Jones on the sideline, you can see the hole from up here. You can throw it right in front of you. Yeah. Just about, I think there's about 25 of us yelling hole right when he, and so he had no choice but to throw the flag.

I think the back judges wanted to get in on it. He didn't want to be the only one not throwing the flag on that one. Seven officials. That's the only thing about it. Seven officials means seven flags. Yeah. A lot more chance to have those flags come out. Lots of yellow flying around, which is good. We needed that. 241 to go in the half. Lawrence trails 5-0, but the Yellow Jackets will have a penalty to take them back inside their own 30 at the 27-yard line. Boy, Jalen Taylor-John is electric when he has the ball in his hands.

Yeah, I'm really amazed. I saw that he was good on film, but he is explosive. He's thick and strong, and he is so quick off the line. J-Shot has been able to cover everybody this season with ease, and Mr. Taylor has given him all that he wants. We've got a clock stoppage. A clock stoppage for some reason. Not sure why. It was started over here on the Oxford sideline, and now they're pointing to Florence about something. I'm not sure. Coach Morrison is politely discussing, I think, the spotting of the ball.

The ball's at the 27. I think Coach Morrison. First and 14. So, it says first down and 14. That's the right call. So, here we go. Three wide outs. There, I put a back in motion to the right. They look to throw. Wanted to run the screen inside and caught there at the 30-yard line, and hit down. Knocked down backwards, back at the 32. Now, see where they mark him. He stumbled back, and they're going to give him the 34. That was Ford, who got absolutely tattooed. I'm not sure who popped in there.

I think Perkins gave him a big stick. Jonathan Perkins gave him a big stick, and he didn't wrap up, but the young man could not maintain his balance. Kenny Morrison's arguing about the spot, because he was hit, but he bounced back and stumbled back two yards, and they're going to give him all the way up to the 34. And that's what Kenny Morrison's saying. You're giving him two yards he didn't have. I agree with the coach from Florence. Florence shows blitz. Looked to give it inside. Back trying to bounce it to the outside.

Nowhere to go. Florence defense right there. No gain. Boy, look at that job right there. Zoe Martin and friends coming up and making a play. Yeah, he was stuck on that play. He was able to come around. He was held up a little bit, and just you saw some white jerseys there and come snap that running back back. Pride in there as well. Nate Pride making a play. He brings up third and a long five for the Yellow Jackets. Under a minute and a half to go at their own 36-yard line, 35-yard line.

They hit the hit to 41. They have trips to the left, one back in the backfield. Now they're going to move the tight end to the left. Got to know where he is at all times. Look to give it off to his back, going to the left side. Falcon defense, pretty good job. He's not going to get the first down. He's going to be short by about two yards. Again, Zoe Martin coming up and wrapping him up. Zoe Martin playing like the senior we expect. Right. This Falcon defense is really playing their guts out.

They've just done a great job just working as a unit here. Oxford's going to keep the offense out there. I doubt they snap it here. I'll be shocked if they do. Don't jump. They do run. They're trying to run a trick play. They're trying to run their team off. And Coach Kenny Marson called the timeout before. He knew what they were doing. They were going to try to run 11 off and 11 on and make Florence jump across the line of scrimmage. They snapped that, Kevin, I thought.

I didn't know if he did or not. Well, maybe the gentleman threw something else off the field. He threw his little hand warmer. Oh, okay. He took it off. He had it in his hands. Right. He looked like it was a ball. He almost threw it about the time they all did that. Almost like showed that there was a ball there. Oh, it was intended. You're talking about intended. That's a, that's a, boy, you're talking about getting close to the University of Georgia. I got to say, that's pretty, pretty, yes, sir.

Yep. It can be legal, but we'll leave it at that. Jeffrey Jones on the sideline. This defense, though, has been phenomenal tonight. Yeah. Defense has shown up. They've, they've, they've definitely carried us. I mean, five, nothing baseball score. We're, we're probably in about, about the sixth, fifth inning right now. So, it's, I'm, I'm proud of the defense. They have not given up a big play. They've bent, but they have not broken it all. Lawler will punt it away. He is a tremendous player. The Oxford coach having a time with the white hat that's on the field.

There actually was a gentleman here earlier that was dressed just like an official down in the stand sitting in the Oxford section. That's never a good sign when there's an official sitting in the section, but he's not there now. I think he may have to go to a game or something. So, uh, it'll be fourth down and two to go from the 40. Got to make sure you don't jump, stay in your lanes, make sure they punt it away. They snap it back to Lawler and he will punt it away.

And Pearson will have a chance to call a fair catch and take it at the 30 yard line. So, Florence will have it 70 yards away with 44 seconds to go. You're down five zero. Got to take care of the ball here, Mike. I think you've played well enough in a sloppy game. You get the ball to start the third quarter. I'd say, Hey, you know, let's make sure we get in the half right here. Right. With 44 seconds left, you know, you, you really, there's really not many, uh, plays.

[1:56:38] I mean, you could, you could try and take a shot down the field, but, but the risk versus reward is not, not really, that's not really high percentage. Uh, probably going to be able to take maybe one shot here and then probably go to the half. Wide to the left. It looks like that's going to be Martin coming to the left, three to the right, went back in the backfield for Davis. He wants to throw straight drop, steps up in the pocket. It lets it go down the right side, down the middle, trying to get his man.

He overthrew everybody. He threw that ball almost 60 yards. Wow. He let that one go. McDonald had a step, but he overthrew him about five yards. That was an impressive throw by Kate Davis. He has a monster arm. I don't think anybody understands what, I mean, as far as, uh, Falcon quarterbacks go, there's no question that he has had the best arm strength of anyone that I've seen. Um, you know, and just being able to out throw Jimmy like that was just phenomenal. I think he's got more too.

I think he's got more arm than that. I absolutely believe it. He let that ball go from the 25 and it went all the way inside to 20. He was overthrown second down and 10. This time I'm going to leave with his back up the middle, bouncing, looking for a little running room and stays on his feet and got out to the 25 yard line. Gained him about three. It's Heinz and let the clock run at 28 seconds. That was a, that was a hard three yards too. He, he took a couple of hits there and was able to keep his feet, but he just got punished on that play.

And I think Kenny Marson may say, you know what? We're going to be happy to go to the locker room or he might use that timeout down here with about five seconds to go. Let's see. He's standing right by the official. He may let it go down to five and say, let's throw it one more time. And he said, nope, let's go to the locker room. So at the half, Florence trails Oxford by the unusual score of five to zero, but Falcons right in it. This is Falcon football.

We're back in two minutes. Carbine construction is honored to be a part of building projects with the Florence city school system. Sheffield leading Schultz-Christian 24-6. Hubbertville leads Hackleburg 22-6. Athens leading Russellville 7-6. Wilson leads Hatton 20-14. Mars Hill leads Scottsboro 21-0. Hazel Green leads Columbia 7-6. Up in Tennessee, Lawrence County leads James Lawson 14-0. Mount Pleasant leads Loretto 23-0. In college football, Marshall leading Coastal Carolina 20-17. And UTSA leading Tulane 24-6. Now back to the stadium for the halftime show. Here at Oxford High School where Florence trails Oxford 5-0 in an unusual game where it's been a field goal by Oxford, a safety for Oxford, and Florence finds themselves down by 5.

[2:01:38] But in the game, and Mike Albertson right now, if you're Florence, you've got to feel pretty good going at the half that you're only down 5-0. You know, we said early on that the Falcons really need to keep this game going, keep it close. And they've done just that. You know, the defense has really stepped up today. The offense has made a couple of plays, but hasn't really gotten momentum going on that direction. And Oxford, quite frankly, has been keeping the Falcons in it with, you know, several penalties and things like that.

That, you know, look, we're right where we want to be at the half. Obviously, you know, only down 5. You're a score away, and you're getting the ball at the start of the half. And just really, as this game goes on, if you keep it close like that, the pressure really flips from the Falcons to Oxford as this game goes. The Big Blue Band about to entertain this crowd here at Oxford High School. They have done a tremendous job all year and had a great job under Bruce White.

He is an excellent band director, and we're very fortunate to have him and very proud of the Big Blue Band, who have won awards this year and represented Florence High School well throughout the season. This will give you a score update from these scores. It started in the first quarter when Oxford finally got a drive going, six-play, 64-yard drive. They went tempo a little bit, and Eli Pesnall, the kicker, boots a 22-yarder to make it 3-0 with 2.28 to go. Then Oxford gets the Falcons deep in their own territory, backed up.

Florence had a penalty. They had another penalty. They had another penalty. Before long, they were backed up to their end zone, and sure enough, gets sacked in the end zone. And it's 5-0 with 1.56 to go. And then a scoreless second quarter. Florence did hit a big play in Oxford territory, got it down to the 30-yard line, but could not capitalize on that big play. And that's where we sit at the half. But the Florence defense has been outstanding here in the first half, trailing Oxford 5-0.

And I think our stats are ready, maybe. Yes, sir, they are. Here from our good friend John McDaniel and Chick-fil-A. They'll be open tonight, tomorrow, Saturday. Let me encourage you to say, go and try out the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit for breakfast. It is phenomenal. John McDaniel, take it away. Well, thank you, Kevin. All right. Tonight, for the half, the Falcons, 61 yards of offense. We had 10 rushes for 12 yards. Eight completions on 13 attempts for 49 yards. Four first downs in the half. One for five on third down conversions.

O for one on fourth down conversions. Six penalties in the half for 49 yards. No turnovers. No turnovers. Of course, no PATs. The time of possession, 12 minutes, 56 seconds. The Yellow Jackets tonight, 123 yards. They had 14 rushes for 53 yards. Six completions on 12 attempts for 70 yards through the air. Six first downs in the half. Two for seven on third down conversions. And no fourth down attempts so far. They also had six penalties for 60 yards. Also, no turnovers. No PAT attempts. The time of possession was 10 minutes, 27 seconds. So, it's a defensive struggle between Oxford and Florence.

You can tell that both teams are getting ready for postseason play. And Florence really battling, trying to get in good position. And you look around the region tonight. There's Austin leading Muscle Shoes at the half. James Clemens leading home win at the half. No one said, oh, all three of these teams will get blown out by these teams. And look where they are. Two teams leading. Florence only down by five. Maybe this region four is a little better than people think. And we're going to find out next week when region four and region one match up.

Two teams from the north will go south. Two teams from Mobile will come up north. I am not a fan of it, guys. You know, I think it's really bad that they have given into this because the travel expenses, the travel time. I love playing new teams. But, Jeffrey Jones, when you start to add it up, teams having to travel from Mobile to Huntsville or Mobile to Florence or vice versa, it's going to be a really, well, it's just a lot of money involved. And a lot of travel for teams to play a high school football game.

It is. It's been a nightmare scheduling-wise, too, because, you know, you've got bus drivers that are – they can't go over a certain amount of hours. And so you're going to have to pack a van full of drivers to come and have two bus drivers. You know, it's really – I won't go there. It's really not beneficial to our kids to travel that far. Now, Opelika, I can do that all day long. I drove it. We got back in a timely manner. It was a great experience to see.

I'll be honest, I would not mind playing Baker or Mary G. Montgomery or Fairhope or Daphne. But just the logistics of it, going down and coming back, it's a long way. It's the equivalent of us going – I looked earlier. It's easily Cincinnati, you know, going – it's like going to Cincinnati. So I can't imagine going to Cincinnati back up there and back in one night. And I – you know, kudos to the band. The band's going, too. And they've booked their buses already. And, you know, it's not guaranteed that we're going down there, but we've got to reserve the buses a couple weeks in advance anyway.

[2:06:51] Well, it's the HSA rule, and I think it was made more because the schools in the mid-central Alabama area began to whine and complain a little bit, and they had the ears of the folks in Montgomery. Therefore, that's what's happening. It's been changed. I do like playing new teams. I do like that you give people a different shot. When you start thinking about the travel and the expense, it's a taxing thing on high schools. And so best of luck to all the schools. What about the radio crews?

Are we going to have a sponsor to – whose plane are we taking down? I'm not sure which plane we're getting, but we're begging. But we are available if you have one and would like to sponsor. Anyone that has a plane available, just let us know. Crop dusters will be fine. Helicopters probably not, but crop dusters will be fine. That is for sure. I don't know. I'd take a helicopter. We ain't picky right now. Right now, we're not picky. At the half here at Oxford High School, Florence Trails, Oxford, 5-0.

They travel to the other side of the state to take on the Yellow Jackets and have handled the road trip pretty well so far. Just can't get the offense unlocked if they can in the second half. Let's see what happens, because it feels like this one could be the team. Maybe they get to double digits. Could win this game. So we'll see if the Falcons can do that.

Let's talk about, guys, some college football this weekend. A big one being played. Obviously, the big one, Florida and Georgia is one of the big games of the weekend. John, I'm going to start with you. I'm going to let you get the start on that. Who do you like in that Florida-Georgia game? Well, I think it's going to be hard for Florida to keep up with having the coaching change. It's good for maybe a week or a few days of emotion, but Kirby is a great coach, and those guys have played really well.

And in Jacksonville, I'm going to take the Bulldogs. All right. What do you think there, Mike? I'm going to go with the Bulldogs as well. Florida has been so hit or miss. Their defense is decent. Their offense is kind of way out of whack. And so I just think Georgia is going to be able to outscore them. JJ? I no longer like Kirby. Amen to that. I just used to like him, to benefit the doubt. I just don't like him anymore, so I hope he loses.

So I'm taking Florida just for that simple fact. Go Gators. Let's do the chomp. I'm with you on that. Let's take the Gators on that one. Oh, so bitter. I know, right? I'm bitter. Hey, I love Nick Saban. I have all the respect for him. I agree 100%. I like Nick Saban. But I hold grudges, see? Look, it was a clap. What are you mad about? Yeah, he's still calling time out somewhere. I get mad for clapping. That's right. Hey, what about Vanderbilt, Texas? In Texas, can you believe this?

Vanderbilt, number nine in the country. Texas, number 20. What a season by the Commodores. Who do you like in that one? I'll start with JJ this time. Well, it just goes to show all the money in the world isn't going to buy you wins. I mean, you've got to have a program to back it up, you know? So, we're seeing that here. You know, Oxford's got a great facility, and they're not the best team we've seen this year, to just be honest. So, I'm going to have to take Vanderbilt.

[2:12:05] I'm going to ride that Vanderbilt train. I like the SEC shorts, the king with the crown. I love it. Yeah, it's pretty good. It's pretty good. He showed up on game day, too. So, I'm going to take the Vanderbilt Commodores. All right. Mike, what do you think? I'm going to go with Texas on this one. Vanderbilt has really played well, but their dream season is going to have a little hiccup this week. They had a real close one with Mizzou as well. I think Texas is going to take it at home.

John? Yeah, I'm with Texas as well. I think Vanderbilt coming off kind of the big win last week. They haven't been through the gauntlet of playing and having to be up every week. I think Texas will get them at home. I agree. I think it's Texas. I think the home field advantage will play a factor. Vanderbilt is well coached. Vanderbilt is really tough. I just feel like Texas might finally find their best game of the year, and I think Texas wins that one. Do you all see any upsets in college football this week?

That's our next question. I'll give you my upset of the week. I think that with just looking at some things coming up, I really like Kansas State. They have Texas Tech coming to their place. Texas Tech, highly ranked, number 13 in the country. I like Kansas State to up Texas Tech. Do you guys have any other upsets? It's technically an upset. I think Oklahoma going to Tennessee. I think I like Oklahoma. What do you think about the Kentucky-Auburn, Kevin? Guys? I do think that will be a closer game than I wish.

I think Auburn is still not sure who will be taking the snaps. Auburn's got some injuries to some key players. What about change you talking about? Yeah, it would definitely, definitely could be. So, I would say I think it would be very open to see what might happen Saturday. I think Auburn wins it because of the home crowd only. That might be a big advantage, and maybe the run game can get it going. But Kentucky's not as good. This probably is a good time for Auburn to catch Kentucky.

Any other upsets do you all see? Cincinnati going on the road to Utah could be both the ranked teams. Cincinnati could keep it close in the fourth quarter. Does anybody believe Penn State gets Ohio State at home? Not even close. Okay. Nobody believe in that. No. We'll keep it on that. We'll keep it right there. Let's talk about something other. We'll change pace from college football, guys. Let's talk about in our time of working together as a crew. We've done this together almost probably ten years together, nine years together, something like that.

And we've been together, and people are so kind to us. We thank you for listening to us each and every week. We couldn't do it without the sponsors. Thank you to all of those for helping us out on that. But, you know, it's really one of those things where somebody said the other day, he said, you guys really do have fun together. And I said, absolutely. It's a lot of it. And we enjoyed it. We thank you for listening in and all the great compliments, and we appreciate all the sponsors as well.

What are some of the great memories for you guys over the years of our doing this broadcast over the years? Mike, what about you? I mean, obviously, we can talk about the car rides. There's a lot of fun there. We chop it up a good bit. And it's, you know, definitely interesting. It could almost be its own show, you know. Yes. If there was a fly on the wall or a little camera, it could be a thing. But I think, you know, just over the years, some of the victories, one game comes to mind, it was a game for the playoffs against Sparkman in the pouring rain.

Jeffrey had an arc built on the side. He was floating around on the sideline. But we came away with that victory to make the playoffs. That was one of the huge victories that we had. We've had a few great games along the way. One heartbreaker with Hoover throwing up, like it was like a third and 26 or something, or fourth and 15 or something in the back corner. They came down for a touchdown late. That sealed it. So, I mean, there have just been some great games and great times together.

But, you know, really the meals when we're able to break bread together is where it's at. Well said, Mike Alrickson. Well said. I'm going to change it up a little bit. You know, I've talked about the running out of gas thing. I've talked about quite a few other events. But, you know, getting down here to Birmingham or getting down to Opelika, it seems like it takes about 10 minutes to me. Like a three-hour trip today felt like about an hour trip. It felt like we were just going to Coleman because there is not a silent moment the whole time.

We talk the whole time, and we get to know each other. Fellowship's great. But, you know, one thing that I've enjoyed the most other than you guys is getting to see all these phenomenal athletes every week. You know, the north region isn't the best region. There's no doubt about that. But sometimes some of the talent that we see, you know, like we're watching about five Division I athletes on this defense right here. You know, that's phenomenal. We've gotten to play against multiple players this year and throughout the course of our careers.

You know, my first game I did, Clay Chalp will remember when I was really nervous. I got to see Nico Collins. You know? NFL. Yeah, he's in the NFL, and, you know, if we counted up all the NFL players that we've seen over the years, we could field at least a 153-man roster because we've seen quite a bit. A.J. Brown, you know, I mean, it's just Bo Nix. And many Florence Falcons, too, that have had great careers. Absolutely. It's great to see them compete and compete well, but you're right.

[2:17:32] I mean, we've seen NFL quarterbacks, NFL wide receivers. It has been impressive. John, what are some of your thoughts? Well, I think, you know, you talk about specifically the games, maybe the Mountain Brook kick, you know, playing Thompson several years, actually even, you know, having the best player, thinking we had the best player in the state of Alabama for one season and getting to watch him play. Well, really, I think about watching the kids go from children to young men as they graduate and the development that they get.

Jaleel Hurley is the one that jumps to mind the most because we start as a sophomore, I believe, or a freshman. He was playing cornerback, and he really took a beating. And we all saw, hey, he is doing it the right way. He's getting beat, but he is fighting hard. And to turn into a five-star type cornerback who's had the opportunity to have a free education and set himself up, those are the kind of things that I watch and enjoy seeing. You know, yes, we've got our Cowboy churches, and thank you, Skippy, for all that you've done.

But, you know, the kids developing, becoming better, those are the fun times. I agree. Mike? I was remiss earlier as well. You talked about all the players and all the fun that we have. But meet Mr. Roy Parker last year at Auburn. Oh, yeah. Having that tour, that was special. We've talked about that ever since. That was pretty cool, yeah. And just Roy has been like almost like a folk hero in our little group chat ever since. So I can't believe that none of us brought up Roy.

We're all bad now. I will say this. So the back story to this, just a little bit. We went to Opelika last year. Well, I've got a – my dad's got his best friend. His name is Roy Parker. He lives in Auburn now. He worked for Alpha with my dad for years and years and years. They grew up together. And he gave us a tour. Well, we were kind of like, oh, we'll get to see the baseball field. You know, Mike gets to sit in the dugout.

No, we got the tour of everything. We went behind the curtain on every single thing, Auburn Athletics, all the way from baseball to football to basketball, saw it all. We were actually in the basketball dressing room around the time that a fight broke out on the plane going out to Houston. So, anyway, that was a good highlight. And Roy is a legend. If you watch any Auburn game, you'll see him on the sidelines. You'll see him post-game interviews for coaches. He's always got his air time.

I'm not saying he's a big deal, but he's got keys to every coach's office and will put his feet up on their desk. He does. No joke. He does. I'll tell you my other thing that I want to say that we've enjoyed is, yes, Florence has been through a lot of coaches, but I've got to know a lot of these coaches' assistants and the head coaches' personal. They are wonderful guys. Appreciate them every time. They're very helpful with us. Kenny Marson, one of the best, I think, right now, and very thankful to meet them over the years and all the players as well.

We do this because we want to give back high school football to the Florence community, and we are one Florence. We believe in Florence Falcons here on 93.9 to score, and we believe blue and silver in pulling for them. At the half, Florence trails Oxford 5-0, second half action coming. Kevin Johnson, Mike Albertson, Jeffrey Jones, John McDaniel in Oxford, Alabama. The Falcons come back on the field getting ready for third quarter action. Training 5-0. They look like they've got a little pep in their step.

And, Mike, if you're Coach Kenny Marson, you say to your team, hey, you've got them right where you want them right now. Absolutely. Look, you know, when you're playing a game like this and you know that you haven't gotten much going on offense and everything, like, you know, you kind of have a good feeling about you're going to have some success in the second half and be able to really compete down the stretch. It will be interesting to see how Florence handles this. They hit one big pass play, but other than that, the offense was really struggling against this Oxford team and this Falcon team through the kitchen sink at Oxford when they could today.

[2:22:45] Had a couple of trick plays, didn't work. One got intercepted at the one-yard line, but, you know, unemptying everything and not leaving anything behind. I like it. I mean, might as well do it. And if nothing else, next week, your opponent's got a lot to work on after seeing tonight's game. That'll happen. Falcons, I have triplet back deep along with Pearson. Oxford looks to kick it away. Pessna will attempt that. Falcons will be going right to left in their white uniforms. And this kick, driving triplet back at the 15, catch it there, come back to the left side to the 20.

Black shirts everywhere, and he gets to the 25 and tripped up there. So, Florence, I have it first and 10 around the 25-yard line. Don't forget the World Series, game six. You'll hear that here. 93-9, the score tomorrow night, followed by the AHSA scoreboard show. Appreciate James Moody and friends in the 93-9, the score studios, bringing the score updates tonight as well. I mentioned that James Clemens' Homewood game. I think it's tied at 14 at the AH. It's Homewood tied that up. So, tight games in the region right now.

Florence will have a couple of guys in here. Triplet in at tailback on the first and 10 play from the 25. High snap. Triplet gets it coming, bouncing in around. Got running room to the 30, to the 33. Gave him about eight right there, and there was Triplet showing what we had not seen, and he gets the start in the second half, and he gets eight or nine. He did a little stutter step, went downhill right straight through a hole, was able to pick up some nice yardage. You know, just like what I saw out of him with the little burst in his step.

Gain of nine, best run of the day. Second down and one. This lulled, this crowd is sleeping, this defense is sleeping, see if the Falcons march this down the field. Davis, this time, gets the snap, hands it off to Triplet. Triplet stays behind the blockers, pushes forward, and should have enough for the first down as he'll move the chains as they push him back, but it'll be at the 35, and that's enough to move the sticks if they do the right thing, and I think they will.

I won't call it first down until he says it. First down, Florence, I do believe, let's see, we are on the road, and now they'll move the chains. There we go. First down for the boys from the Renaissance City. He was well beyond the mark, and he barely got it. The marks have been one of the things that caught my attention. There have been some times that it's not been very favorable. Goolsby will come wide to the left here on this first down play. Leave it again with Triplet.

Triplet finds a little run room to the 40, to the 45. Stays on his feet to the 50. In territory of yellow check, it's down to the 40 and knocked out a bounce at the 38. Hello, Kalon Triplet. Welcome to the game. Man, you know, what a change of pace that we see from Triplet here. He looks like he's really playing some inspired ball after these first few carries. Let's hope he continues this trend. Pearson to the game along with Triplet. Davis is the quarterback. McDonald wide to the right, I believe it is, on the first and 10 play at the 38-yard line.

Florence trails it 5-0 with 10.30 to go in the third quarter. This time, Triplet coming off the right side, just lowers his head and gets what he can back to the line of scrimmage. He knew nothing was there, but I liked how he powered up and got what he could. Right. That was a good job. He was getting hit in the backfield. He just did the best he could just to get back to the line of scrimmage, make that second and 10. At the 38-yard line, you're in four-down territory if you're Florence now, no doubt.

Gullsby will come wide left with Pearson. They will have two defenders out here with the safety over the top of them, and they'll bracket on the top. So they're really saying, Falcons, if you can run it against six in the box, go for it. Going to leave it with Triplet again. Triplet finds run rim to the 30, to the 25, tripped up every gain of 12. That's enough for a Falcon first down. Good sportsmanship on the back side by Florence, too. LaShawn Shepard come up, says, sorry to knock you down.

Glad to pick you up. Let's move the chains. That was a great job by the Falcon offense to really get some things going on this run game. Triplet really having a nice burst of speed coming off and just really getting a couple first downs has been huge. Triplet will come out. De Carson Jones will come in. Johnson will come in, and Triplet got a little dinged up on that because he got flipped upside down. Hate to see that, but I think he's going to be okay.

First down play, 15 on the play clock. Florence will bring it to the line of scrimmage at the 27. First and 10 at the 27. Still a six-man box for Oxford. Going to leave it with Johnson around right side. Got to the 25, to the 20. Give him about seven right there. That's a nice run. Six or seven. That'll move it down. Second down and three. Jeffrey Jones on the sideline. Is Falcon team finding a little confidence? Yeah, finding some holes. That's a great block by the offensive line. You know, those linebackers are really well-sized, and our guys are not backing down from them.

This is great to see. Johnson will stay in at tailback, as you can hear Jeffrey Jones right in front of the Florence cheerleaders to stay warm on the second down and three play at the 20. This time, low snap. Had to fall down and pick it up on the back, and he's going to be knocked down at the 27-yard line. That was disaster right there. The snap was low. Couldn't get it up. And, John, you saw disaster coming right there. Unfortunately, it was. We managed to maintain possession, but lost about six yards or so on the play.

[2:28:16] Just could not corral it once it was a bad snap on the ground. And tough break for the Falcons. Try to transition into a third down and long. They're bracketing up on top, sort of double teaming McDonald and Pearson. We had actually ran them. They were doing zone coverage, and we had run them back into loading the box. But now they're behind the sticks. I don't know where they'll hold in. Third and 12. Back to pass. Davis looking. Going. Down the middle. Overthrows everybody. Incomplete. Little misread right there.

McDonald was a little shorter. Davis threw it over the top, and to bring it fourth down and 12. At the 29, you're out of field goal range. Might as well go for it. Yeah, there was a lot of pressure in Cade's face. He was just trying to be able to get that ball up. And once that ball was in the air, there was nobody that could catch that one. You know, guys, they're doubling up on McDonald. They're doubling up on Pearson. I think you might say, look, take a look at Goolsby right here.

He's got the one-on-one. Let him make a play and see if he can get loose. Well, you know, look, you look at the game film from the last couple of games and say it's no big surprise that McDonald was the main target. Trips to the short side. Straight drop. Looking to pass. Davis steps up. Fires a pass, and it is caught by the Falcons down around the 50. And that's a first down. What an absolute dime thrown there from Davis to Pearson. And it's going to move the chains.

You know, we said earlier that Cade has a lot of arm, and he's been able to throw that. He threaded the needle on that one. That was a fastball if I've ever seen it. Right into the numbers. Great job catching that one. Great job by Jay Shidenow where the down marker was, and he was just one yard beyond it so that when he called it, he could just fall down. Johnson still the tailback on the first and 10 play at the 15. Seven in the box now for the Yellow Jackets.

Going to leave it with Johnson. Cuts up. Got to run to the 12. Pushes far to the 10. That'll be about a five-yard gain. We'll take it. Jeffrey Jones will take the four and five right there. Absolutely, we will. That was a great eyes by the Carson Johnson right there. He hit that hole and got spun around a little bit. You know, he took a hard hit. But, you know, these defensive backs, we can beat these guys. The linebackers are a little tougher, but, you know, we're not backing down from them either.

They stay with that bracket defense, making sure Florida can't get a pass off. Leave it inside with Johnson. Bounces far, pushes far to about the nine, maybe a yard gain. And they'll bring up their no gain, actually. They're going to mark him at the 10s. He's pushed back. Can't get the foot break what they do. So, it'll be third down and six. And this is maybe Jimmy McDonald territory right here. Mike, even if you could get three or four here, then you could go heavy package possibly.

Right. You know, this is one of those downs. You want to pick up something here to make it, you know, obviously you either get the first down or you make it like a fourth and short, being able to really apply some pressure on this defense. Watch for the hard count here on the third down and six play. Gets a snap. Looks left. Wants to throw. Throws as he's hit. Incomplete. They brought the blitz up the middle. Davis got rid of it to his outlet pass, but it's going to be a time for field goal for Florence.

He wasn't really able to feel that snap cleanly. He kind of bobbled it for a second, gave the defense an extra step to be able to close in there. So, he tried to get rid of it as soon as he could and just really probably never had that ball to begin with. Charlie Graves will attempt what will be a 26-27 yarder. This Oxford team is pretty good at blocking kicks, so you've got to be good here. It's from the right hash. Good snap. Good hold. Kick is on the way.

The kick is up. The kick is good. Graves gives the Falcons their first score. 5.58 to go in the third. Florence trims the lead to 5-3. This is Falcon Football. We're back in 30. Flavor is calling at Lost Pizza Company Shoals. Introducing the new limited-time only margarita pizza. Fresh basil, fine-ripened tomatoes, and creamy mozzarella pearls on our homemade crust. Light, bright, and bursting with flavor. Try our all-new dry-rub wings, seasoned to perfection with bold, smoky spices. It'll have you coming back for more. Don't forget dessert. Cotton Blues Cheesecake Slices are here.

Creamy, dreamy, and downright legendary. These flavors won't stick around forever. Only at Lost Pizza Company Shoals, where the lost get fed. 5.58 to go here in the third quarter. Florence gets on the scoreboard to trim this down to 5-3 after the field goal by Charlie Graves from 27 yards out. John, that was a great drive. It was terrific. Obviously, longest of the night, 13 plays, 65 yards covered, 5 minutes, 58 seconds that came off of the clock. Yeah, split that clock in half right there. Kickoff going to be taken by the Yellow Jackets around the 15, bouncing up to the 20, and got outside to the 30, and finally pushed out of bounds around the 40-yard line.

Taylor got outside, found some little running room. Should have had him back at the 25, but instead, Florence comes up and makes a play there. That was, I think, Merchant coming in, Jay Merchant making a play. So, it'll be first and 10 for the Yellow Jackets at the 42. But one way, Mike, to keep a team off the field is long drives. Right. You know, being able to run the ball like that. We saw that against a team like Bob Jones. We were having a lot of success on the ground.

[2:33:38] We were able to keep it away from them. And once we were able to play keep away, we came away with the victory. Back to pass, throws the inside screen to win. He catches his fins far to the 45. He backpedaled all the way down to the 45-yard line. I don't know how he did that, but he caught it and just kept going. Jayden White came in. You know, he pushed off his block and then just shoved him. And he just kept his feet and kept backpedaling.

It gave him an extra boost of about four yards. Second down and four to go, maybe five to go there after a five-yard gain at the 46. Right in front of us, we're sitting at the 46-yard line. Top of the press box. I'm going to leave it inside to his running back. We haven't got running room. Watch out. 45-40. It's a foot race down the right sideline to the 30, and he will score. He's going to take it all the way to the house. And for the first time, Oxford breaks one big.

And with 5.07 to go, Oxford will take an 11-3 lead, waiting the extra point. Winn got loose, and the Falcons got out of position, and he was to the house. And that one hurts for Florence after that long drive that brought three. Oxford answers back with six and possibly seven. Pesnell will attempt the PAT to try to make it a nine-point lead. The first touchdown for either team in this game. Snap is good. Hold is good. The kick, I'm not sure. It was a tip, and it's no good.

Florence blocked the kick, and I believe that was Jaden White again coming up the middle to block it. With 5.07 to go, Florence trails Oxford 11-3. This is Falcon football. See you in 30. Hey, Falcon fans. This is Keith at Cypress Creek Indoor Range. Like Walt Barrett excels at safety. At Cypress Creek Indoor Range, we prepare you to provide your own safety. Barrett stops ball carriers through his knowledge of the game and preparation and having the right equipment. And our state-of-the-art indoor shooting range gives you the perfect place to practice. As Walt will be going to the next level in 2026, you can take your skills to the next level through our extensive training classes or private lessons. At Cypress Creek Indoor Range, your safety is our number one priority. 50-60, Highway 157, or on the web at cypresscreekrange.com. 5.07 to go, and Oxford answers back to take an 11-3 lead. Kevin Johnson, let's go to John McDaniel for that last drive. Kevin, it was a quick two plays, 58 total yards, but the big play, of course, a 54-yard touchdown by Caleb Wynn.

Really an excellent run by the young man. So, Florence blocked the extra point. Jaden White blocks it, keeps us within eight with 5.07 to go. Pestle booted away. Triplett will go back and take it around the 10. Bring it back up. I think that's Triplett will double-check it. Oh, it's going to be McDonald. He'll bring it up to the right sideline. Still on his feet. Blow the whistle. He's down around the 24-yard line. Jeffrey Jones, I know you can't give injury updates, but just checking, is Triplett still on the sideline there doing okay?

Yeah, he's got Wes over here doing some drills with him on the sidelines. He's going to be, I think he's going to be all right. He's going to be back in shortly. We'll see if the Falcons bring it at Hines this time at tailback with 4.56 to go. You can't lie, Mike, Triplett was a big part of that first drive there in the third quarter to give us a chance to get the field goal. Correct. You know, he did a great job. It was a nice change of pace, an extra burst, added spark there for the Falcons.

The Falcons are going to look to continue that run game, but we're going to have to use somebody else. Two wide left. McDonald to the right. Going to leave it with Hines. Bouncing it outside. Hit at the line of scrimmage. He'll go down. They'll push him all the way back and not a bounce. Bring up second down and 10. Breaking that first line of defense has been so tough, John. It looks like Florence, if they could ever get a little chance to break that front line, they could make something happen, but that front line has been the key.

Yeah, they've been doing a really good job. They're keeping the blockers off of the linebackers, but their safety is both Kabari English. He's their leading tackler, but that play was made by Marcus Lawler, the strong safety. They are really active and really solid tackling. Gulesby by himself to the left, to the wide side. Pearson and McDonald wide to the right. Back to pass. Davis looks. Play action. Wants to go deep. Double coverage coming down that way. McDonald's going for it. Can't get there. Incomplete. He had to throw it a lot earlier than he meant to because the pressure was coming in his face.

And there might be a flag. Was there a flag? No, there's a helmet that came off. A helmet came off. So, one of the Oxford players will have to come off the field with 4-0-7 to go. Third down and 10. And a little bit of a danger time for Florence right now. You don't want to go three and out after giving up the big touchdown play. Right. And, you know, it looks like Oxford's doing a good job of really bracketing Jimmy McDonald. It really looks like that's about the only one that we really feel comfortable throwing to at this point.

[2:38:38] We're going to have to get somebody else in the mix if we're going to try and have some shots downfield. Google's going to go wide to the right. Google's about to continue to say it might be the player that can get loose if they're given a chance. Got to protect as well. Now they go trips to the left. Back to pass. Looking throws to the out and got tripped up. But it's caught under across the middle. And a great catch there. It's close to the sticks.

And it's enough for a first down. McDonald's somehow brought that in. That was a fastball. And he snagged it again. You know, they've run that route quite well. Cade and Jimmy definitely have a great chemistry out there. They know where each other's going to be and when to look up. Jimmy just ran a great route, took a big shot, and was able to secure that. By the way, their big linebacker, Fleming, comes out injured. So you've got to back up linebacker in. Mike can make something happen here on the first and ten play.

Leave it with Heinz. He's got running room from 35 to the 40. Brought down and drug down around the 42-yard, 45-yard line. That should be enough for a first down right where Fleming came out where the Falcons attacked. Yeah. Oh, and a flag after the play. That might be way after. Way after the play. I didn't see anything. I was watching the whole time. Jeffrey Jones, did you see, was that a penalty for something said or what? I didn't see what it was, but they're pulling number three off and they're in his ear.

So it looks like it's going to be against Oxford. I don't know what he did, but his teammates weren't happy with him either. And the coach came to talk to him, and he just walked away from the coach and spins away, and the coach is chasing him down. Well, he did more than just walk away. Yeah. He was very physical, almost getting away. It's not the Oxford team we've seen in the past. The penalty will move it down to the Oxford 40. Lawrence trails 11-3 with 3.28 to go, but driving again with the help of a 15-yard penalty and a Davis to McDonald pass.

Jayshod hasn't got loose yet, but he's been in there all game playing in the slot. Going to leave it. Nope. Throw the quick out. Gets it to Jayshod. Catches it. Dancing. Trying to get away from one to the 40. Stiff arms again and knocked out of bounds around the 36-yard line. Give him a gain of about four. Old number two is going to be one of my favorite players for all time, just the way he plays. Absolutely. You know, just a solid competitor all around. He has, I mean, plays way bigger than his body.

I mean, he's one of the smaller guys on the field, but he plays like a giant. And that's just because of the heart and determination that he plays with. He's definitely one of those all-time Falcons as far as being a competitor is concerned. Pearson McDonald will go wide right. Gillespie to the left of the short side on the second down play. Falcons now will shift their offensive line. It was a good catch by Oxford catching that. They knew what was coming. The tailback, I think, is Hines.

We'll double check it. Might be Johnson to the left. Blitz coming. They're going to leave it with Johnson. Oh, it's going to be back. Caught it with Johnson to the 30. Stays on his feet to the 28. Down around the 27. That's enough for a first down. He went right, come back left, and found a running room and bounced and fooled everybody. There was a wall of yellow jackets waiting there for him. And he was able to cut back, and all the yellow jackets were gone. And so he had a lot of space in front of him.

It was beautiful. You know, Mike, when I see yellow jackets, I run too. I don't like them, so let's run the other way. That's what he did. That's enough for a Falcon first down at the 28. Under three to go here in the third. Florence trails 11 to three, but knocking on the door. Davis looks over the defense, puts Shepard in motion to the right this time. Going to leave it with his tailback again. Johnson cut up the middle flag on the play as he pushes far to another flag on the play.

And he'll get all the way down to the 20-yard line inside the 20, but hold the fort. Two flags on the play, and probably both of them against Florence. One of them a hold. Probably one would be some sort of illegal formation, illegal procedure. And the other one should be a hold. So the Oxford coach will have the decision which penalty to take at the 230 mark. Coach Sam Adams said push the Falcons back. And it will be back to the Falcon, probably 36-yard line. Every time I hear Sam Adams, I just think to myself, I'm not a big Boston guy.

You never were, were you? Never a big Boston guy. Temperature dropping down to about 47 degrees now. I hear J.J. is getting a little bit chillier over there. Yes, it is. I've got my microphone in my pocket right now. It's going to get colder, but I'm just not used to it yet. I'll get used to it. That's all right. That right-handed microphone will come in handy tonight. Data cut the 37-yard line. Second down and 20 for the Falcons to go now after the penalty. Actually, it'll be first and 20.

First and 20. Goolsby trying to get the play. He don't know what's coming, so he's going to line up anyway. First down and 20 to go. David, straight drop. Look into Goolsby. Throws to Goolsby. Goolsby couldn't catch it. He didn't know the play. I don't think. He was waving back to the sideline, and he cut in, and he didn't sit. It was one of those communication things, and he just went and ran and lined up. Maybe he got it or not, but he wasn't real sure of where he was going on that.

[2:43:53] Not his fault, necessarily. Right. You know, that's one of those situations where, you know, when there's miscommunication or you're not entirely certain, you know, you do the best you can with what you've got. But, you know, you've got to really make sure, especially in these high-leverage games, in these big-time plays, you need communication to be solid. Second down and 20 to go for the Falcons. Play clock at 10. They're still getting a play in. Got to hurry a little bit. Now they're running up to the line of scrimmage with six.

Got to rush this one a little bit. Five, four, three. Davis makes sure everybody's set. Didn't get the snap off in time. Timeout taken by Kenny Morrison. Had to do it. He saw it coming. Takes the timeout. We'll do the same. 2-0-8 to go in the third. Florence down 11-3. Falcon football returns in 30.

Cypress Creek Indoor Range team provides you with the knowledge and the right equipment to defend yourself and family. The frost is coming on the pumpkin right before Halloween as we're on the road at Oxford High School, sort of in the valley over here, and it's pretty cool over here tonight too, around 47 degrees as Florence trails at 11-3 with 2.08 to go in the third quarter.

Florence faces second down and 20, had to use a timeout. McDonald wide right by himself, two wide outs to the left. Straight drop by Davis, blitz coming, picked it up, throwing for McDonald down the right sideline, going for him on the sideline and over through everybody. They are bracketing him all night long. He's getting double coverage, and we're still having to fire it to him. Good pick up there by Johnson to delay the blitz. And, you know, I'm like the coaches right now. You're thinking they're double teaming our wide outs.

Where do you get the offense right now? You might have to think somewhere different, Mike. You might have to think outside the box a little bit. Right. I mean, you know, we're going to the outside. How about something near the hashes? Get a little tight end to run out there a little bit. There you go. Right. Attack the linebackers a little bit. Maybe even a running back coming out of the backfield. But they're pretty good defense. They're well coached. They've taken four back now. They run a cover four out here.

Shell defense. Straight drop. Davis looks. Blitz coming. Thrushed out. Has time, though. He's got a little running room. He's going to turn it up and try to run it a little bit. And he's hit hard. He knocked out of bounds around the 37-yard line. He gets hammered pretty good. The big boy for Florence has played quarterback. I think he gets up okay. And decision time for Kenny Morrison. Fourth down and about 20 to go. Maybe that's 17 to go. Have to touch the 17. And it's about fourth and 20.

And with 151 to go, do you punt it, try to pin it, or do you go for it? I would try and pin it. I mean, how many 20-yard plays do we have in the tank? Maybe you've got Taylor likes to return kicks. He's dangerous back there. Even just like a little pooch. Well, the offense is going to line up. If nothing else, throw it deep. Maybe give up a one-on-one chance. Davis straight drop. Blitz coming. Steps up. Throws down the sideline. Wheel route. Complete. And right at the sticks and a first down.

Inside to 20. Down at the 16. Depending on the mark. I think it's going to be a first by about a half yard. I think it was Jayshod Pearson who caught it on the back shoulder throw. Wow. I don't think that was a back shoulder. He turned around and he hit him in the. He was not looking for the ball. But the ball was looking for him. And the fastball from Cade Davis strikes again. What a bullet by Cade there. Put it right on the numbers. The answer to your question, Mike, is that we've at least got one play in the play loop.

Wow. Now can you put it in the end zone? Let's quit rolling. 125 and counting. Here in the third. Going to leave it with his tailback again. Cutting, bouncing, nowhere to go. Really gets up to about the 15 and flag on the play. And it might be a flag against Oxford for a face mask. Jayshod Pearson says it is. I say it is. Jeffrey Jones is giving the good news. Let's see what the white hat will say. Face mask. Face mask against Oxford. Five yards. Five yards. We'll take it, though.

Still first down, but first and five. It's Johnson at tailback. Carson Johnson giving some good minutes for Florence here in the third quarter. We still haven't seen triplets since that first drive in the third quarter. So, we're keeping an eye on him and Hines and Johnson right now. So, first down and five at the 12 for Florence. McDonald to the right, Goolsby and Pearson to the left. Six men in the box. Got a chance if you can run it here. Leave it with Johnson off the right side.

[2:49:00] Got inside the 10. Bounces forward to about the 8. Still on his feet. Pushing forward. He's still pushing forward. Down to about the 6-yard line. Close to the first down. He kept spinning and churning and running. And it's going to be close to the line of the game. Jeffrey Jones, it was right in front of you. What a run. That was all to Carson Johnson right there. You know, he came out right in front of our bench and just did not fight. And kudos to the rest for letting him play a little bit.

They had him held up just a smidge. But he kept fighting. He kept fighting, punching those legs on. Florence going heavy set now. And nothing will pull by. Kenny Marson said, you know what? We're going to take this to the fourth quarter. We're knocking on the door. We got it on the road. We got a chance to win this game. And Kenny Marson is marching the other way. And so is his boys. He's ready to go for the fourth quarter. Trailing 11-3, but 12 yards away or less than 12 yards away from a touchdown.

Here's a score update. Mars, or excuse me, Muscle Shoals leading Austin 16-7. Homewood and James Clemens tied at 14. Mars Hill leading Scottsboro 28-7. Sheffield leads Shoals Christian 36-6. Hubbardville leading Hackleburg 22-12. Athens leads Russellville 21-6. West Morgan leading Deschler 14-0. Hatton leads Wilson 27-20. Brooks leading East Lawrence 35-14. Up in Tennessee, Lawrence County leads James Lawson 16-7. Mount Pleasant leading Loretto 30-0. In college football, UTSA leads Tulane 31-12. And Coastal Carolina leading Marshall 31-27. By the way, just an update on the Homewood-James Clemens game. Homewood, I believe, just took the lead 17-14 over James Clemens.

Things are playing out good for Florence if Florence can come back and tie this one up. They are marching down the field. They have it second down and one. At the six-yard line, we'll be going left to right towards the end zone that has this beautiful facility. Under center, heavy set. Davis going to lead with Zoe Martin. Zoe bouncing inside, pushing forward, still pushing forward, close to the first down. And I think he's going to have it down around the five-yard line, depending on the mark.

It should be enough to move the chains. Will they say first and goal? Yeah, that was all Zoe right there. Zoe did a good job pumping his legs again. That's a great job. You know, John, we talked about it. We love Kate Davis, but I wouldn't be surprised in the future if maybe we see J-Shot under center in this to have that thread of the quarterback to roll. Yeah, just another option to hold some backside defenders and give him a boot opportunity. Davis under center again.

Now he looks back with 13 on the clock. Florence in that heavy set. Florence scoots in now. Going to leave it with a fullback up the middle, and he got nowhere. Right at the line of scrimmage and goes down. One of the Falcons' troubles has been getting short yardage to get the offense in. We tried to run a trap on a nose tackle, Kevin, but he was way quicker than we were. Turned him loose, and he caught the fullback really quick. So a Falcon player has to come out of the game.

Looks like it's substitutions, and now Falcons may be going back to their regular offense here, and I think they are. So with 30 on the play clock, down 11-3, second down and goal at the five. Goolsby and Pearson wide to the left. Get the play in with 17. Two to the left, one to the right. It's going to be McDonald to the right. That should be offside. They had a player running off, came back. He was all across the line of scrimmage, no call. Going to leave it with a back up the middle, bouncing to the three-yard line and pushing forward, and that's all he's going to get, maybe to the four, actually.

Is that Pearson on the carry? No, it was Johnson again. And it'll be a couple of players down. A Falcon and a Oxford Yellow Jacket got tied up. Let's check on them. They're both okay. Third and goal at the four. 10-37 and counting. You're down 11-3. You want six. You really want eight. But you need points here. It might be Jimmy McDonald time. He goes wide to the left. Play clock at 12. Got to hurry it up a little bit. They'll reach three on two over there for Oxford.

They'll come out and rack it up. Now it's one-on-one. Man in motion. Going to leave it with his back. No throw across the middle. Got it. Touchdown. No, no. Oh, he dropped it. Oh, he had it. And he couldn't bring it in. Oh, I was ready to give the call. But it couldn't go. And now it brings up fourth down. Had the slant route open. But it couldn't bring it in. And a field goal attempt will come. Yeah, that was a nicely drawn-up play there. Cade delivered the ball only where his receiver can catch it.

[2:54:26] It was a tough ball to be able to catch. Because he was blanketed. Went right off his hands into the end zone. Graves to try to cut it down to a five-point game. From the right hash, it'll be a 21-yarder. Good snap. Good hold. Kick on the way. Kick is up. Kick is good. New score. Florence adds to it. Trims it to five. 11 to six. 10-02 to go in the game. Falcon football returns in 30. It's football time in Alabama. The players are hitting the field. The cheerleaders are firing up the crowd.

The drum majors striking up the band. And we all stand to the national anthem. This is Congressman Robert Adderholt. While you cheer your favorite team this season, I'll be on President Trump's team shaking things up in Washington. When we stand on conservative principles, it's a win for everyone. I'm Robert Adderholt, and I approve this message. Paid for by Adderholt for Congress. The voice of the Florence High School Falcons. WYTK-FM. Rogersville. Athens. Decatur. The Shoals. 93-9. The score. Things getting a little spooky here in Oxford tonight, the night before Halloween, as Florence has cut the lead to five.

11 to six. Can the Falcons pull off a miracle? We're about to find out as they kick it away in the last ten minutes. Greenhouse kick will drive Taylor back at the seven. He's so dangerous. Taylor coming up inside. Got running room to the 25, to the 30. Watch out. He's got a blocker outside, and he made cut to the 50. Stays on his feet and pushed down finally from behind at the 41. You just can't kick it to him, guys. I agree. You can't kick it to him. That's just a no-no right there.

You've got to find somebody else to kick the ball to. That's a 40, 50-yard return. The first row would be my suggestion because if he gets his hands on it, it's coming a long ways. That's a breaker right there, Jeffrey Jones, after all you've done in a 50-yard kick return. You said it well. You can't kick to him. I mean, it's simple. That's very simple. I don't know why we picked the best guy to kick it to right there, but we've got to learn not to do that.

Taylor will go wide to the right. You've got to know where he's at. When is the tailback? Two wide outs to the left for the quarterback, the sophomore Mims. First 10 play, wants to pass play action, looking. Going to roll out. Now he's in trouble. Now he has to throw it away. He had to throw it in the third deck because big old Jaden White said, I'm a sophomore too. Let me introduce myself to you right there. He has a good job by Jaden White to get off the ball, get off his blocks, and really flush the quarterback out.

He had no choice but to toss that one out. Kevin, the last time we brought a young man about this age down to middle Birmingham area, middle Alabama, he didn't come back with us and play this good. So hopefully he'll be a Falcon for a few more years. We're not at Thompson. Back inside give to Wynn. Wynn hit the line scrimmage, and there's White again to make an attack. He ripped the ball loose. Did they give it to him? They're going to say he was down.

No, they blew it dead before he was not down. White is absolutely taking over this game. There is Division I players for Oxford all over the field. Taylor's amazing. Britt's amazing. I'm going to tell you what. Jaden White has just put himself in all their categories and then some. He's been amazing tonight. Third down and ten. Big play for the defense for Florence here. Wide outs everywhere. Empty set. Five wide outs. Mims looks back to the line of scrimmage. Florence dancing around on defense. Gaining some confidence.

They've got to know where Taylor is at all times. Taylor's to the right. Pearson's going to be on him. On his third down play, they bring a man in motion. Going to leave on the wide receiver sweep. Trying to get outside. He's going nowhere. He's going backwards. He's going down. Back at the 20, 45-yard line. Jaden Irons ruds that one out. Makes the tackle. And the Falcons force a fourth down punt, most likely, from the Yellow Jackets with 8.40 and counting. They can run it down to about eight minutes.

But if they go for it, it's going to be fourth and 17. And here comes the punt team on. Lawler will punt it away. What a job of this Falcon D. This Falcon defense has just done a phenomenal job. Really, I mean, we've been saying it all along. They really have held this game together there for Florence. I'll tell you what. I would like to see Florence maybe set up the return here. Good snap to Lawler. He lost it. It goes through his legs. He goes back to pick it up.

He's trying to run with it. He comes down the sideline. It's brought down at the 50-yard line. And Florence catches a huge break. It went right between the wickets. He's brought down by West Fuqua. And Florence will have the ball at midfield. Oh, baby, what a break for the Falcons. Yeah, it was a good break there for the Falcons. It was one of those busted plays that, you know, sometimes we catch those. And instead of Florence having to deepen their own territory, they're going to have it in Oxford territory, which is going to be huge.

[2:59:31] Florence with a chance to take the lead with eight minutes to go. We'll have it in Oxford territory at the 49. With 8.05 to go, this Falcon D has been a crazy good tonight. And now the offense has a chance to answer. First down play coming. Two wide outs left, one to the right. Cade Davis has been outstanding for Florence. He really has. Shepard will go in motion to the left. Looks to throw the quick out. Complete. Got it to the 50. Got it brought 45 to the 40 and flipped upside down.

But give him about nine, maybe 10. That's Pearson. Jay shot okay as he comes popping back up. That was a great job by Cade to lead Jay shot into it. Jay shot almost had a full head of steam as he caught that ball. And getting him an opportunity for a first down. And they'll move the chains. That's enough for a Falcon first down at the 39. We're under eight to go in the game. Florence trails by five, but knocking on the door again. Jay shot like he had been really shot out of a gun right there.

He exploded once he caught that pass and really ran past the defender. Davis puts a man in motion right. Three wide outs, one back in the backfield. Going to leave it with his tailback. Coming off the right side. Got a little run run to the 40, to the 35, down to the 33, 32. Two-yard line. Give him a gain of about seven. Johnson starting to make things happen. And right now, a tired Oxford defense. They've been on the field a lot in the second half, Mike. Yeah, with us being able to run the ball a little bit, getting a few first downs, we've really kept them on the field for the majority of the second half thus far.

Great job by the Falcons offense to get things going. At the 32, we're under seven minutes to go. Davis with 15 on the play clock will walk up and get the play set. Johnson's behind him. Two wide outs to the right, one to the left. Going to leave it with Johnson again. Stays in the lane, got up to the 31, but that's all the gain of about one. And he'll bring up third and about three to go. Flag after the play. Flag after the play. And I'm not sure, but I don't think it was a good fall.

That's going to be on them. Another cheap shot by Oxford after the play. And we'll take it. Frustration by the team in black and gold. And Florence composed. Culture changed. It's paying off right now, Mike. Oh, absolutely. You know, you cannot allow the other team to have just multiple penalties like that. They're just continuing to shoot themselves in the foot. Oxford has. And so the Falcons have been the beneficiary, which has kept them in this game with an opportunity to take a lead. We talked about turnovers in the pregame.

This is like a turnover when you get extra possessions to the other team. Even if it's a penalty, it works for an extra possession. The Falcons. First and 10 at the 16. We've had trouble in the red zone. Let's see if we can stick it in here. Davis has one back in the backfield behind him. I think it's still Johnson on the first down play. Still six in the box. They won't give us the pass. Davis looks the pass across the middle. Complete. Got it to McDonald. Flag on the play, though.

And that's probably going to come back as he's knocked down around the 12-yard line. But it's in the place of Holden. I don't know how you could call Holden on such a play so fast. But it is going against Florence. Davis caught it and threw it as soon as he threw it. But behind the play, there was a Holden call. And that one hurts the Falcons. Well, if you noticed, we had an open receiver because they came out of the double brackets where they've been running.

They were the only single covered out there. And barring the penalty, that was a good six-yard game. Homewood leads James Clemens. 24-21. Muscle Shoes leads Austin. At the 26-yard line, it'll be first and 20 for Florence. Down 11-6 with 6.17 to go. Two wideouts left and one to the right. Davis looks over the defense. Defensive backs everywhere. Going to leave it with his tailback. Nope, wants to throw. Throws across the middle and almost intercepted. Knocked down incomplete. That time he delayed it a little bit. Second down and 20.

Clock stops at 6.05. Yeah, it was a little bit of a slow developing play there. And once it fell apart, Kade tried to get rid of it. And there was a yellow jacket in the way. And that was a little scary. 6.05 to go in the game. Clock stopped. Florence will face second down and 20. They have to get to the seven-yard line. Jeffrey Jones, this is a big play. Yeah, it's a huge play. Second and 20. Got two on this side right here. Goolsby to the right. Going to look to throw.

Down the left side line. Going one-on-one up there for McDonald. And over throws everybody. Out of bounds. It was intercepted, but out of bounds. Yeah. And they'll bring a third down and 20. Good thing he had such a strong arm. Because it was a really good catch by the DB. You know, Florence has not thrown the screen past much. We haven't seen it a whole lot. 58 to go. Try to get half right here if you can to make it a fourth and 10 play. You've got that wide receiver, Jalen Taylor, out there as the safety.

[3:05:01] He was the one that actually caught that ball in the corner as it went out of bounds. So you've got one of their best players on the field. You know, and you're coming right at them. So third and 20. Playcock at 10. Florence with trips to the left. Watch for Goolsby. Back to pass. Blitz coming. Pick it up. Throws the ball across the middle. No, couldn't. Incomplete. Wanted to. Couldn't. Got rid of it. And brings up fourth down. You have to go for it with 553 to go. Out of field goal range here.

Oh, say that. Are we out of field goal range? Okay. Kenny Morrison going to roll the dice and go for a field goal. It would be a 43-yarder. That's right on the brink on a cold night. Oh, I understand what he's doing, though. Charlie Graves has been outstanding. Just get a good boot into it and see what happens. Davis to hold. Good snap. Good hold. Before the kick, though, a flag on the play. JJ would have been good, is the question. No. Offside. It's a little bit to the left.

But the flag was against Oxford. It'll be five yards, so he'll have another chance to kick it. So Graves will get another chance. He had the distance on it. Just pulled it to the left. But it will get another try. This time it will be from the same place, except five yards closer. Make it a 38-yarder. Protection's the key. Good snap. Good hold. Kick away. Kick's got a chance. Kick is good. He nailed it from 38 yards. It was 545 to go. Florence goes up or goes to 11-9, down by two.

Don't go away. This is Falcon Football. This is Miranda Haddock with the Florence Education Foundation. We want to wish Coach Morrison and the Falcon Football team good luck this season. 45 to go in the game. Florence gets a 38-yard field goal from Charlie Graves to make it 11-9. Florence down by two. Got a chance. Can the defense play again? Green ought to kick it away. This time he'll pooch it over to the right side and a flag on the play. Offside on the foul. Florence got a little head start because he slowed down on the kick there. I don't want you to pooch it, but you know, you can kick it a little further down the field.

You'd be better off kicking it out of bounds. Well, I think squib it. I think you squib that thing down about the middle. Matter of fact, honestly, the way this is going, I might even say onside kick that thing and see what happens because you're giving it to him right at the midfield anyway. But I know it's crazy. But if you look at it, if we're going to kick it to the 40-yard line, why not give you a chance right there? You don't want to put your defense in peril right away either.

I see green grass over here. I'm like, if he's going to come that way, kick it towards the awkward sideline and see if it's a race. He'll boot it away. You don't want number one to get it, that's for sure. Green haul. We'll pooch it to the right side again. Going to be taken there by the yellow jackets at the 35 to the 40 to the 45 to the 50. And got it back to the 47-yard line anyway. Like I said, listen to me sometimes, guys. I know it don't make sense, but sometimes I think might as well go for it.

With 539 to go in the game. Florence down by two. And the yellow jackets will have it in Falcon territory. So because we did poor kick coverage there, it made you look like a genius. And we've got to eat crow now. I get it. Actually, you're right. I'm glad you know that. It was a great call, but it was Charlie that kicked it. Oh, was it Charlie kicking out of time? Okay, I thought it was Green haul. They do look the same. All right. Apologies to Green haul and to Charlie.

Great. First and ten play coming for the yellow jackets. They're going to run the pitch outside, get wind on the edge if they can. He cuts it back to the 45 to the 40, gets about seven or eight. That's too much right there. They go outside and getting away from – can't move it on the inside, so they get eight yards that way. Second down and two. There was a clear block in the back there. It's not called. But it just – the Falcon was out of harm's way there.

[3:10:04] But, you know, not a great showing for a first down, giving them second and short here. Second down at the 39-yard line. Mason, the quarterback. Excuse me, Mims, the quarterback. Mims going to leave it within again. Wynn trying to bounce it outside. Wynn's in trouble. Wynn looks. He goes down. Burski, I think it was. No check that. It was Irons. Irons that comes up and makes the big play and a loss of about five. Irons came right around the edge, really stopped the running back from being able to get out there.

He tried a stiff arm there. Irons stuck with it and just took him down. It was a big, big play there on second down. Under four and a half minutes when they get ready to snap it here in a minute. It's 4.33 and counting. They'll have 20 on the play clock. They can run this down to about the four-minute mark. Third down and seven. You've got to think Taylor will either touch it. They have run the quarterback draw. The quarterback's a pretty good little runner, too. Two to the right, one to the left.

Straight drop. Looking to the right. Wants to throw. Down the middle. Got a man one-on-one out there, and it's overthrown incomplete. Great defense by Florence right there. Pearson, step for step. Would not let it happen. Jay Shod saying, I can run with anyone. That wasn't Pearson. Oh, check that. It was 18, I believe. Oh, no. That's not Pearson up top. Actually, that made me Fuqua running with him. It was 13. Whoever it was was a perfect play. They stayed right in phase with them, and last second reached over and was able to bat the ball away.

Fourth and seven, and the Yellow Jackets are going to try to go for it. Now they're going to run off the field, and they get the Falcons to jump off sides. They run this trick play where they run off the field. It's a deception play. No, it's going to be on Oxford. It's going to be on Oxford. Let's see what he says. I think he's saying against Oxford. They have caught on to that quick motion like we used to do with our offensive line, and they are signaling.

Oh, I know, but now everybody's getting involved. Now you're getting others involved. Florence needs to step away and just not say anything. No matter what, it's fourth and seven. You don't need any penalties. It would be fourth and two if they get the five-yard penalty. I'm with you, Kevin. Now that we've had this discussion, they may get overruled. Yep. Florence says on their sideline it's deception. The gentleman who threw the flag, as soon as he threw it, indicated that it was offside's illegal procedure. And they were marking off against Oxford.

Five-yard penalty against the Yellow Jackets, and the Falcons will take it. Now the Yellow Jackets, will they keep their offense out there at the end? I think they'll do the same thing. Just don't jump off sides, guys. Just sit there. Now they bring the – and guys, at 409 to go, the last time they had a bad snap. I might go after – I might send somebody after it this time. You don't want to rough the punter, but you get a chance to get the ball with 409 to go down by two.

Lawler's the punter. High snap this time. Can't get it. Ball's got – it's knocked down. He's in trouble. It's still on the ground. It's loose. Back at the 20. Picked up by the Falcons down around the 15-yard line. Flag on the play. But the Falcons have the ball inside the 20 at the 17. We'll wait and see what the flag is. I think it meant a beanbag instead of a flag. It could be, but it could be for a batted ball. I'm not sure if the Falcons actually hit it.

He kicked it without touching it with his hands. And that's what got the flag thrown. Okay. Great call, J.J. Yeah. Let's see what the call is. I don't think it'll be against Florence. No. It's going over there. They're talking to the officials. The flag was thrown around the 35. Florence would have it inside the 20 at the 17 with 359 to go if everything holds. Hold your breath, Florence fans. Things are playing out really nice around the league, around the region. But you've got to get this one in the end zone or at least another field goal.

But you want six here. We're waiting. They're huddled up at the 35-yard line. I don't think it's going against Florence. So, there's the other part is they're probably discussing since that ball was essentially, they were trying to pick it up off the turf and it was fumbled forward in such a way. It was basically tossed down the field. And so, they might say incomplete pass. Good try to say incomplete pass would make it a five-yard penalty instead, which would move it back about 30 yards. It wasn't a pass, though.

He kicked it. Yeah, he ran up to it and just kicked it. He kicked the ball off the ground. Yeah. Kenny Marson doing his best job, lobbying for things. Here comes the official. And I declined the penalty. Florence football inside the 20 at the 16. And the folks from Florence, all 79 of them with all the band and all the cheerleaders getting ready to say, let's go, boys. Under four minutes to go, 359, and Florence has a chance right here. Two wide outs to the right, one to the left.

[3:15:05] Don't need a field goal, need points. Let's get six or seven or eight right here. The tailback for Florence. Still think it's Johnson in there. I'll double check. That's correct. Johnson in at tailback. Going to throw to McDonald. Complete at the 10. Spins out to the 7. Knocked out of bounds at the 5 and slung out of bounds. And a flag. And that's going to move it even closer. Inside the 5 after that. It'll be close to the 3-yard line. And the folks from Florence starting to feel for it.

They feel like they've got a chance with 353 to go. It's not over. You've got to do this. Jumbo. And here comes the jumbo package. Have they signal for the penalty? Jeffrey Jones, are they going to give them the penalty as well? Yes, it's going to be half the distance on that. White burst in the game. Along with Zoe Martin. Shepard will be the fullback. Davis, the quarterback. First and goal at the, we'll call it the 3-yard line. Going to leave it inside. And Zoe had nowhere to go.

And he's pushed down. He'll lose a yard. Back around the 5 or 6-yard line. That time they came with the blitz and they read it. And they're going to keep coming with the blitz every time. They're going to bring everyone they can. And I think Kenny Morrison and Caden McGuire says, nope, let's go back to our regular offense. They've read that heavy package a couple times. Let's change it up. 3-27 and counting. Florence has two timeouts. Oxford has all three. Play clock just now getting to 20. The ball will rest at the 7.

He lost about three yards on that. Second down and goal at the 7. McDonnell wide right. With Goolsby, I believe it is. Check that. It's Pearson wide right. Look to give it inside again. Looking nowhere to go. Going to skip back. Use his speed. Get outside if he can. But he's chopped down at the 9. Losing yardage again. Going backwards. That's a two-yard loss. Brings up third down. And now, guys, with 2-49 to go, you know you might want to run that ball to the middle of the field here a little bit and set that sucker up and see if we can go up 12-9, 12-11.

That is exactly what I would do, Kevin, if we're having tough sledding. Just shuffle over and get to where we can get a good kick. 2-33 and counting. Can run that clock down to about 2-10. Kenny Morrison brings the official close to him and say, let's walk this thing down. Kenny Morrison saying, isn't this fun tonight? Florence down by two. They have three field goals from Charlie Graves. Just start clapping, Coach. Yep. And there it is. He's got the timeout. And we'll do the same. Florence trails by two.

2-11 to go in the game. Come back and see us in 30. Carbine Construction is honored to be a part of building projects with the Florence City School System. We're also glad to cheer on the Falcons as they celebrate milestone achievements as well. Good luck to head coach Kenny Morrison and the Florence Falcons football team on building a special season to remember as Carbine Construction wishes you the very best this season. Remember at Carbine Construction, we build trust, we build relationships, and like the Florence Falcons football team, at Carbine Construction, we continue to build.

2-11 to go in the game. And Florence has come on the road and battled tooth and nail against the Oxford Yellow Jackets, trailing 11-9. And they have it at the 7-yard line. Actually, the ball will be marked at the 10-yard line. Excuse me, because he lost yardage, so it's going to be third and goal from the 10. Mike, do you throw it? Do you run it? I mean, at this point, at this stage of the game, I think we need to roll a little conservative. I mean, man.

Yeah, I think on those short yardage passes, we haven't had just too many of those go our way thus far. I would say just run it to the middle, maybe try and kick that field goal. On the odd chance we get single coverage, I would like to throw it. But they have very rarely given that. That's the only way. I'll tell you something else I'd like. I'd like to see the hard count to see if you can get Oxford to jump off sides here. Two wide outs to the right.

One to the left. Jay shot appears to be in the slot. That could be the shot right there for Jay shot in the slot if he can get inside. But, boy, they're bracketing him. Yeah, double coverage on both sides. Blitz will be coming. They're going to leave it with the tail back off the right side. Puts up in the middle and knocked down around the right hash this time. So, he'll be mocked at the 10-yard line and pushed backwards. And the Falcon fans are like, whoa, that was a little late, too.

Timeout taken? Is that a timeout taken by Oxford? I think it is. Yes. With 201 to go. We'll keep it right here. So, Charlie Graves will have a chance to give the Falcons a lead with 201 to go. Only one timeout left. Well within his range. He's hit two of these, three of these already tonight. So, just nobody go over there and talk to him. 6.41 to go. Homewood leads James Clemens 31-28. But, right now, all we're worried about is this Florence one. Can the Falcons get their fourth field goal of the night?

[3:20:24] Graves has had a great season. No matter what, for a senior kicker, boy, he's played well. It will be on the right, not quite the right hash. It will be around the 10-yard line. It will make it a 27-yarder when they line up. Davis to hold. Hand back to snap. Here we go. Good snap. Good hold. Kick. On the way. Kick. Up. Kick. It's good. Charlie Graves puts the Falcons up. 12-11 with 157 to go. Falcons football back in 30. Hello. My name is Debra Bell Passour, and I'm an attorney with the law firm of Johnson, Passour, Medley, and Burchill.

No representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers. 1-57 to go. Charlie Graves, 27-yard field goal, gives the Falcons a 12-11 lead.

That's right, 12-11. It's been a crazy game, and Florence has four field goals behind Charlie Graves kicking, and Graves, I think it is, is going to boot it away. Is that correct? Yep, Charlie Graves is going to boot it away. Where to kick it is the question. Graves approaches, looks. Chip it to the left, taken at the 30 by Oxford, and the Falcons will wrap him up around the 40. That's better kick coverage, believe it or not. 60 yards away with 151 to go. Oxford has a good kicker, too.

They have a great wide receiver. It's time for the Falcon defense, who's been outstanding, Mike, to see if they can just do it one more time. No matter what, this Falcon team has been incredible tonight. Hey, this Falcon team has shown you what competitors and what grit and what determination is all about. They have not played their best game in that first half. They've stayed close enough and have really done just a phenomenal job of keeping themselves in this game and just chipping away. It's just been a hard-fought battle to start to finish.

And confusion. They've got wrong guys out. They're trying to get their players set. Oxford is with 12 on the clock. Trips to the left, one to the right. Look to pass. Wanting to throw the screen to this side. Florence reads it. Now he just lobs it over there. And it's intercepted. Jaden White picks it off. The big nose guard went up and snagged it with one hand. And the Falcons are going crazy. Are you kidding me? Oh, baby, has he had a game. You never saw him, Kevin.

How can you not see a 6'4", 2'9", a guy? That was 98. I give him pride. I'm sorry. That was 98. Nate pride. He did a great job. He saw them forming that screen coming off. And he just stayed off his block and read the eyes of the quarterback. He jumped that route. You see a big man jump a route like that. That's wild. That was a great play. Big baller, man. That is exactly what. And he had the sense to go down, not to try to fight to score.

And he's another sophomore. Still two timeouts, though. Falcons have it at the 43-yard line with 141 to go. Oxford has two timeouts. You can't just take a knee. Yeah. Davis going to leave with his back and a whistle before the snap and a motion. I think Florence moved a little early. That's okay. Two seconds came off the clock. Now he's going to beg Sam Adams is for the clock to be put back. He is correct over that. It was 141. Let's make sure they don't put 143 on there.

Not that we're on the road or anything. Unbelievable play. My apologies to Nate Pryde. I saw it was all the time. It was Nate Jaden White. And it was Pryde. He snagged that with one hand. He went up and just pawed it. Unbelievable play. Falcons had the ball at the 48, first and 15. Leave it with the tailback up the middle. Got a little running rim. Bounced outside still on his feet. Pushed as far to the 43. We'll take that right there. That's a gain of about five. Getting that five yards back.

That's DeCarson Johnson, by the way. 125 and counting. And Oxford's going to let this one run all the way down. So we can run it under a minute to go. With 20 all the way down. And we can take our final timeout, possibly, if you wanted to. But I wouldn't do that. I'd just run it down and run a play. Just run it and run a play. Second down. Second down and 10 at the 44. As I said, Oxford with two timeouts left. Florence now lines up. Kay Davis has been pretty smart watching the clock.

[3:25:32] Just wait for it. Don't snap it until that thing gets down about two times. Two on the clock. He does. Hands it off and hit in the backfield immediately. And goes down as Johnson. Right around the 50-yard line. He'll lose yardage that time. About three or four yards. An injured Oxford player. Helped you up right now. But timeout taken by Oxford with 48.4 on the clock. We'll keep it right here. Jeffrey Jones, take a deep breath. This one's not over yet. Yeah. Yeah. We, we, uh, I just don't know what to think right now.

You know, 12 and 11 with 48 seconds left. They've got two times. They've got one timeout left remaining. I'm sorry. Did you have two? It says two on the scoreboard. They've got one left after that timeout. One? Okay. So we both have one timeout left. You could shake and ask, but I'm pretty sure one timeout. Mike Albertson right now, if you're Florence, 48.4, run the ball and punt it away. Yeah. I think that's a move, you know, and, and, and they should only have one timeout left. They called the timeout before Charlie, before Charlie's field goal attempt earlier, they called one.

Correct. So the clock has not set it, but we know it to be right. Let's make sure. 48.4 on the clock. Mike's, Mike's called it correctly earlier. The Carson Johnson has been the tailback. The biggest thing, they're going to try to hold you up and strip it. You know, you really don't want to fight for yardage. You need to get what you can and go down and stay in bounds. That's the other thing. At the 48-yard line, Florence has miraculously taken the lead, but it's not over yet.

Johnson's the tailback behind the quarterback, Cade Davis. One wide receiver to each side. Davis going to lead with his tailback off the left side, cuts up in the middle and stays up and goes down. He'll get back to the line of scrimmage. And with 43.7 on the clock, Oxford will use their final timeout. They'll be out of timeouts with 43.7 on the clock. And Florence can put it away here. This is the longest two minutes of football I ever just want this clock to run. I tell you what, let's take a 30-second timeout.

Back deep, the dangerous Taylor. You don't want him to touch it. They came hard. Number four came hard on a block attempt earlier. Watch that. Good snap. Shevinata gets it away. It goes right to Taylor, though. They hit the punter and flagged down. Taylor's got it in the back. Taylor running around. Falcon's chasing with him. Let him run it all the way down to the other sideline. He steps out of bounds. But the flag will be a penalty. What will it be, though? A five or a 15?

It'll be a five. That was not egregious. So now do you punt it again and take the five-yard penalty with 31.6 on the clock? Or do you add it to the – I don't know if you can add it down where the return was. That's the question. I don't know how they do it in high school. Forgive me for not knowing that. Kenny Marson will get the signal from the officials. Who, by the way, they have not done a bad job of seven-man crew. Go ahead and say it, Ken.

They did a good job. They really did. It's been a tough game to call. He had no faith in them, but when we were pulling in here. I said we are on the road in East Alabama. That's all I said. A long way from home. A long way from home. Now let's see what the black flag will say. Personal foul. Personal foul. 15-yarder. That's against Oxford. It's not enough for a first down. First down, Florence. That will do it. That's an automatic first down, and that will do it.

Florence is going to take a knee in victory formation. Every break has gone their way, and they've taken advantage of it, Mike. This team has gutted this out. You know, they did not play well in the first half. They figured out some things, but this Falcon team, this is about the grittiest bunch that I've ever seen in a Falcon uniform, and I couldn't be more proud. Unbelievable. Kenny Morrison's team's got to be happy. Victory formation. Davis will go under center. No timeouts for Oxford that I know of.

We don't think there's any. That's correct. They have one on the scoreboard. They're holding out hope, but I don't think so. Davis takes the knee. Clock will continue to run. 26, 25. We don't have to snap it again. It's over. Go to the sideline, boys. Run over a white team and blue team and start to celebrate. They've come on the road. They've sucked the Oxford Yellow Jackets, and Florence has won this game by a score of 12-11. An unbelievable job by Kenny Morrison and the Falcons. This is Florence Football.

Back at Oxford High School, the TNT Fireworks postgame show, Florence wins at 12-11. Kenny Marson, he is with Jeffrey Jones. Coach, I'm just going to let you explain what we just saw. We saw some young men with some heart and some fight and some character. We got in the situation throughout that first half of a little pushing and shoving and talking, and they would get one, we would get one, and it was some offsetting penalties.

And I told the guys at halftime, the most disciplined team will win. And when they shove and we don't, that's 15 for us. And we got them over and over. Our guys showed discipline. They showed what this senior class has done to turn this program around. And I'm so proud of them. Hats off to those seniors because they have left their legacy here at Florence High School. They drove down and scored a touchdown. We could have very easily just followed up the tents there. We did not.

Ain't no quitting this bunch. Ain't no quitting this bunch. I'm so proud of them. They, again, we've had this happen throughout the year. And look at them on the sideline and they never waver. They never think they're defeated. They never think they're out. Again, senior class, guys following those seniors doing the right thing. There was never any mess on our sideline. It's what, it's all right in this world in high school football with what these young men are doing. Two players I want to mention that.

Jay Shaw Pearson. He's shown a lot of, a lot of, he's shown a lot of grit and a lot of, a lot of maturity the last two games, hadn't he? Unbelievable. He called the first down down here that got us the field, getting in range for the field goal. We were out of range. We just ran the same play. He said, coach, run the same one and I'll sit down at the sticks. He caught it for a half yard ahead of the sticks for a first down.

Just, he's going to be a football coach one day. And if I hope I'm in this business, because I'll hire him. He'll be the first one I'll hire. Last question for you. Charlie Graves. Pretty on point. Oh, hey. Player of the game. Player of the year. Player of the state. I mean, huge. Ice water in his veins when he had to have it. And again, he never looked fazed going out there. And I'm just proud of him. What a great young man. What a great team.

So proud of them. Is it safe for us to go ahead and start talking about the playoffs now? Listen, here's what I'm going to say. I don't know what the state's going to do. And I promise I'm going to the state on tomorrow we'll start our fight. We are region champs. There is no question. We can look at all the letters in the tiebreakers, whatever they are. It goes to letter L against non-region people. We just got it done on the field. If they take it from these young men, we're region champs.

And there's no way around it. No option. We're number one. Have a safe trip back, Coach. Congratulations. Appreciate it. Well said, Coach Kenny Morrison. An excited, jubilant head coach. By the way, I just got a text message. What probably meant more to me than anything was the Oxford NFHS announcer said, I'll say one thing. Florence has the guys that have a lot of class. And it said a lot about them. And I thought that's pretty heavy right there because culture has changed. We saw it. We see it.

[3:36:15] And a school record. Four field goals by Charlie Graves. The last one gives the Falcons a 12-11 lead. And the boys in blue and white, they've done it the hard way all season long, Mike. They may have just done it again. My goodness. You know, from where this team started off, you know, really struggling the first two games and piecing things together, being able to really develop that character and grit and figure out some things along the way to where they are now. You know, whatever the ruling is going to be, it's going to be.

But, you know, you cannot take away what these boys did on the field this year. And what they've done is nothing short of remarkable. Being able to come together as a unit, show that dignity, class, honor, all the things, that grit. And Coach Morrison has every reason to be proud of this team because they've done what he's asked of them, and they've improved each and every week. How about the coaching job by Coach Kenny Morrison? I'll say this. Everybody in the area was reading social media, TV.

Oh, they just said it. Here's who the region champions are. And he's like, guys, that is not correct. We're going to fight for this. You've got to just do your job. And he sold the team to stay with it, to stick with it, to come to Oxford, and to do something the Falcons have never done, to knock off Oxford. Unbelievable job. It absolutely is. You know, the unfortunate part, you know, you'd love to win it on the field and know that you've actually done it. That's the only thing that's been taken away thus far.

So just being able to celebrate that because this would be Florence's first 7A region championship, which is another historical thing. But, you know, I think it comes down to a bunch of people that live outside of our town, and they might have different thoughts and feelings on it. But when that comes down, either way, these boys are to be praised for the amount of hard work, energy, and effort that they put into this season. You're listening to the TNT Fireworks postgame show. We're back in two minutes.

Back at Lamar Field in Oxford, Alabama, where the Falcons have flown to the east side of the town of the state and are flying home three hours later with a victory 12-11 in one of the most remarkable games I've seen Florence play in years. Unbelievable. As they've come on the road and shocked this crowd and knocked off Oxford to win it 12-11. And it says so much about this Florence team.

[3:41:18] This Oxford team has played as good a schedule as anybody in the state and have been against some great teams. And most people said, boy, Oxford's going to win this game and that region up there is not that good and everything. Well, look who just sneaks into the Yellow Jackets' nest and takes one home. It's the Florence Falcons as they win it tonight in an incredible fashion by a score of 12-11. After being down 11-3, three more Charlie Graves field goals would be the key to this game.

And we'll talk about that in a minute. But first, let's get our final stats brought to us by our good friends at Chick-fil-A. All right, Kevin. Well, we'll start with the home Yellow Jackets tonight for the game Oxford tonight, 182 yards of offense. They had 21 rushes for 108 yards, seven completions on 16 attempts for 74 yards, seven first downs tonight, two for nine on third down conversion, no fourth down attempts, 13 penalties for 125 yards, 13 accepted penalties, two turnovers tonight, 0 for one, I believe, on the PAT attempts. The big ones, time of possession, 15 minutes and one second.

Falcons tonight, 209 yards of offense. We had 101 yards rushing on 34 carries. We had 108 yards passing, 14 completions on 28 attempts. 15 first downs, two for 13 on third down conversions, but two for three on fourth down conversions. 10 penalties for 79 yards. No turnovers. I'm sorry, would you start right there? How many turnovers was that? I think we mentioned in pregame about that, but no turnovers, Kevin. There you go. Zero to two. No PAT attempts tonight. Again, time of possession. Oxford, 15 minutes. Falcons, 32 minutes, 59 seconds. Wow. Kate Davis, 14 of 28 for 123 yards. Kalon had five carries for 48 yards.

Jay Schott, he had five catches also for, I believe, 45 yards. And let's see, Jimmy McDonald, seven catches, 68 yards. And that wraps up the Falcons' tremendous win tonight. How about a win in season? Six and four, first of all, regular season. Florence tonight watched Oxford get the first score of the game on a 22-yard field goal after a six-play, 64-yard drive from Pesnel. Made it three to zero. And then Falcons really just imploded a little bit. Had three or four bad offensive penalties. Backed them up and got sacked in the end zone.

And it was a safety 5-0. And we just said, oh, we're about to fall apart. But the Falcons' defense would not let Oxford do anything. The Falcons' defense held and held and held and would not let Oxford get going. And at the half, it was 5-0. Or 5-0, yeah, at the half. And then in the third quarter, Florence took the opening kick of the third quarter, drove it down the field, a 65-yard, 13-play drive that ended in a 27-yard field goal by Charlie Graves. 5-3 was the score.

It didn't take Oxford long. Two plays. They go back and win. A 54-yard run. Made it 11-3. But the extra point was blocked by Jaden White. So it's 11-3. That's a big play in this game as well. Later on in the fourth quarter, Florence down by eighth. Drives it down the field. Can't get in. So they kick a 21-yarder with 10-02 to go to trim the lead to 11-6. That was the second field goal by Charlie Graves. Then after a bad punch snap that turned into a turnover at the midfield, Florence gets back in field goal position, missed a 43-yarder, but a penalty against Oxford gives them a second chance.

The 38-yarder from Charlie Graves, he hit it in the left field, a three-run shot. And Florence trailed at 11-9. And once again, the Falcon defense comes up big. Another stop. This time, the Falcons were saying, let's go after the punter. And the punter fumbled the snap again. Couldn't get a hold of it. Tried to kick it. It was blocked. Falcons recovered it at the 16. Again, the offense stalled. But Charlie Graves said, never fear. Big Charlie's here. And the 27-yard field goal was right down the middle.

And Florence led it 12-11. It wasn't over yet. With less than two minutes to go, Oxford has the ball. Try to throw a screen pass on the first play. And Nate Pride goes up with one hand, rips it down, intercepts it. Florence ends up having to punt it back. But on Oxford's time there, they couldn't do anything because they roughed the punter. Personal foul. 15-yarder. Florence runs it out with a victory formation. And the Falcons end the season six and four. And we think we'll be the region champions.

And we think we'll be playing at home next Friday night if everything goes as the AHSA should say. Don't count it out yet. Anything can happen because a lot of things are said. But most everyone agrees it should be Florence at home next Friday night because that coupled with James Clemens loss to Homewood and the Austin loss to Muscle Shoals gives the Florence Falcons the tiebreaker. We will wait and see. Cross your fingers. You might even say a little prayer tonight for the boys in blue because they have done an amazing job to go to six and four on the season.

[3:46:40] Final thoughts coming from our guys here. Let's start. Mike Albertson, my color analyst. What a game. What a game. You know, and what a strange game. I mean, you had a safety. You had a couple block kicks. You had all of our offense was on field goals. I'm going to affectionately call this game the Charlie Graves game from here on out. This will be this will be this legacy. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, look, you know, really and truly, you know, you put up your entire team's offensive points there.

But but this Falcon defense answered the call time and time again as well. So, you know, I've I've already said early on about how how proud I am of this team. The grit, the determination, everything that they put forth in this game, they they they came to play and they they played their hearts out. And, you know, I know coaches proud. I know. And foreign should be proud. They should be proud of the product that these boys have put on the field. The way that they've been able to turn this season around and really make something of themselves.

Whatever whatever happens with the playoff stuff. I mean, leave that up to the other people who, you know, so what? Who cares? But but you got to you got to root for guys like this. This this team is something special. And they just proved it tonight. And let's let's get home. Everyone drive safe. Get home. And we'll we'll figure out the AHSAA stuff another day. Let's go over to Jeffrey Jones. What's your final thoughts? Great game. You know, I'll be honest from the Oxford I've seen the last few years.

They they've they had a good team. They had a good team tonight, too. There's no doubt they had a good team tonight. We just had a bunch of things fall our way and played good, smart football and never gave up. It just goes to show just keep playing. Don't ever give up. And, you know, I'm looking forward to next week whether we're home or away. Looking forward to it. John McDaniel. You know, we talked a lot of things in the pregame. We mentioned a lot of ways for the Falcons to win.

We talked about turnovers, how much you get it for the the number was over 80 almost 85 percent winning percentage if you got to turnover advantage in the game. we talked about penalties. We've talked about time of possession and we talked about getting them in the fourth quarter, taking them kind of into the deep end of the water and see and the Falcons are used to playing hard for a whole game. Wanted to see if the Oxford could could battle as long as the Falcons could and they couldn't tonight.

The Falcons came ready to play. They had a bad taste I think from last week and they wanted to demonstrate they had played. They could play better football. Terrific job. Really proud of them for fighting because we got some breaks with some calls but we didn't. Things didn't just go our way. We didn't score touchdowns tonight. So they had to really work and find a way to win and those are the kind of teams that are hard to put out. I'm proud of the Falcons for how they started and the growth and how much better of a team they are now than they were to begin the season.

Great job by Coach and his staff for developing the players and we'll be in the playoffs next week. I'm not certain I agree with how it's going to shake out but regardless the Falcons are going to be playing one more week and the guys will get to have one more week with their buddies that they'll never forget. If the HSAA will do the right thing and do it as it says the Falcons will be wearing blue jerseys next week at Brawley Stadium. It should be that way and I think Kenny Morrison and staff will make sure that is said loud and proud because of the way it's always been done.

I'll put it that way. We hope and pray it will be that way because that would mean a lot to this Falcon team who deserves it. Tonight they showed again on the road as they go on the road to knock off Oxford. My final thoughts are so many players played so well tonight. So many big plays tonight. Cade Davis continues to make throws when he has to make throws and guys keep making catches when they make catches and the Falcons win it tonight over Oxford on the road by a score of 12 to 11 and one that will be remembered by Falcon fans for a long time and our star of the game the kicker Charlie Graves.

Congratulations Charlie. Well done my friend. Well done. Well that's going to do it for us tonight. Don't forget tomorrow night the HSA scoreboard show and we'll be breaking down things tomorrow night and talking about playoffs as well. For our station manager Greg Thornton for James Moody or 93.9 the score studios from our friends Mike Albertson Jeffrey Jones John McDaniel I'm Kevin Johnson saying go Falcons Florence wins at 12 to 11 hope you have a good night and folks as always I'll see you in church on Sunday.
