Blogpoll 2026: What Is It and Why Do You Need It In Your Life?

What is a Blogpoll you ask? You won’t find it in Webster’s Dictionary. Your friends probably won’t allow it in a game of Scrabble. In the simplest and most obvious terms, it is a poll from bloggers.

Why do you need it? The AP Poll is the best known rankers of College Football, but they have gotten more and more ridiculous. All you have to do is look at the 2025 Preseason Poll that had Penn State #2 and Clemson #4. By the time December rolled around, the Brittany Lions were 7-6 after ironically beating Clemson in something called the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl. The Orange Tigers also finished 7-6. So you see fine readers, our opinions are just as valid as anyone else’s. What used to be a respectable poll has been filled with numbskulls who don’t watch the games and biased bozos who just want a story. The Coaches Poll is totally irrelevant, filled out by Mary Ellen who works in reception at the Athletic Building.

After Week 0 and Week 1, it is hard to get a handle on most teams – mostly because they played cupcakes. The only real way to judge these performances is how they looked doing it and how much they TCB’d (took care of business).

Miami-FL gets the tip of the hat because they traveled over 2,500 miles to Palo Alto to hammer woeful Stanford 45-6 and it could have been much worse. Mario Cristobal is an old school Nick Saban disciple and won’t run up the score on an opponent just because he can. Not including a one play kneel down to end the first half, the Hurricanes scored touchdowns on six of their first seven possessions. The Darian Mensah-to-Malachi Toney connection (12 rec, 234 yds, 3 TD) was on full display and the duo did not even play the final quarter of the game.

The postgame tailgating got going earlier than usual in Athens as Georgia ended their tussle with Tennessee State after 13 minutes of play. The Bulldogs had a 3-play touchdown drive, followed by a 5-play, another 3-play, and a 6-play TD series to go up 28-0 in the blink of an eye. The visiting team had five straight 3-and-outs to begin the game before driving for a field goal against the UGA scrubs. Georgia held the Tigers to 109 yards even with the starters sitting out most of the 63-3 victory.

Ohio State symmetrically scored two touchdowns in each quarter, utilizing three different quarterbacks, in a 56-3 blowout over Ball State. The Buckys outgained their opponent 671-165.

Texas crushed a decent Texas State team 59-7 with 516 yards of offense. However, that Manning kid did throw an interception.

Oklahoma wiped up the floor with UTEP 51-0. The Sooners scored three times in the first quarter including a perfectly executed 88 yard punt return. Okie scored points on every possession until the second series of the 4th quarter with the walk-ons and waterboys playing. I can’t wait to see them play Michigan.

LSU dominated Clemson 51-10. Dabo has a crummy team but they are still Clemson and not an FCS directional school. The Orange Tigers managed only 8 first downs and 145 total yards. Their sole touchdown came with 3 minutes remaining against the LSU baton twirlers.

QB Keelon Russell has some things to clean up, but he looked like a future star for Alabama. The Tide defense allowed only 5 ECU first downs and 2 rushing yards on the day.

A person cannot be blamed if they are skeptical about the play of Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed. He was good in the 50-0 walloping of Missouri State. Yet, skepticism will leave them out of this Top 5 for now.

The national press wants SO BADLY for Notre Dame to win the Natty this year. It would not be surprising if half of them already have an article written with the final score left out to fill in later. The Irish defeated a sad Wisconsin team 41-13, but it took awhile before they took over the game. It was 13-10 at halftime. The sloppy Badgers gave the Dames a lot gifts including two turnovers that led to ND touchdowns. #9 might even be a little high following Week 1 of the Weak-ass schedule.

Indiana (brought to you by a-hole billionaire Mark Cuban) is the darling of the Rust Belt media right now. The Hoosiers topped a decimated North Texas team 52-16. ESPN called it a “rout” but the Mean Green had two more yards and one more first down than the defending national champions in the game. It was only a 15 point game entering the final quarter until North Texas fell apart. The IU starters had to play the entire game.

• Ole Miss eked out a win at the end over impressive Louisville.
• Iowa State Penn State manhandled Marshall 45-0.
• Southern Cal is 2-0 and putting up points, but neither San Jose or Fresno are going to scare anyone.
• Oregon has done little to impress these eyes. The AP put them at No. 2 in the preseason. They barely beat Boise 34-27 at home on Saturday.
• Missouri led Arkansas-Pine Bluff 40-0 at the half en route to a 54-14 throttling.
• Tennessee only led Furman 7-0 after a quarter but pushed the lead to 42-0 before the Paladins kicked a field goal. The shutout ended after Vols All-American candidate DeSean Bishop lost a fumble on his own 32 yard line. UT lost a second fumble that led to a Furman touchdown with a 56-9 final score. They are only ranked this high because of who is behind them.
• BYU crushed an awful FCS Utah Tech (who disappointingly changed their name from Dixie State during Wokegate of 2021) by the score of 63-7. The win is not that impressive when you realize that the Trailblazers have won 5 games over the previous 3 seasons.
• Virginia has not played since the 34-8 butt-whooping of NC State in Week 0.
• Despite the loss, Louisville looked pretty good against Ole Miss.
• Utah ran by FCS Idaho (who lost to Cal-Poly in Week 0) with 364 rushing yards to win 66-14.
• A 33-10 win over little ol’ Abilene Christian? Not the most dynamic of starts for Texas Tech.
• We all know what happened to Western Michigan (1-0). This Broncos team is not fluke.
• Pitt quarterback Mason Heintschel was fantastic in a 59-14 thumping of Miami-Ohio.
• VMI is not much of a fight, but Virginia Tech TCB’d. The Hokies led 73-0 before they let some of the fans and popcorn vendors play defense, and allowed a field goal. Also, I hear Tech has this promising new coach.
• SMU turned the ball over four times but still managed to sneak by dog-poo FSU 27-24.

19. Washington beat Washington State at home 24-10.
21. Iowa 40-0 over Northern Illinois.
22. Houston defeated Oregon State at home 33-20.
