Bama had a midweek doubleheader on Tuesday and churned out 22 runs in the two wins.
GAME 1: ALABAMA 10, JACKSONVILLE STATE 3
Bama recorded a season-high 17 hits that included two home runs by Brooke Wells and one by Jena Young.
Young was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI and two runs scored. Lauren Johnson also collected three hits and an RBI, and had another diving catch in the outfield..
Vic Moten started in the circle and was not great. She last 5.0 innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits that included a homer and a 2 RBI double. Oddly, the round-tripper came in the 5th in which Moten struck out the other three batters of the inning. Jocelyn Briski hurled a perfect 6th with two Ks and Kaitlyn Pallozzi finished off the game int he 7th.
But the story of the day was Game 2.
GAME 2: ALABAMA 12, NORTH ALABAMA 0 (5 Inn.)
In the nightcap, three Tide pitchers combined to throw the 11th perfect game in school history. Jocelyn Briski got it started with six strikeouts over the first three innings. Alea Johnson hurled a perfect 4th and Braya Hodges ended it with a 1-2-3 5th.
The Bama bats stayed hot, churning out 12 runs on 12 hits that produced three four-baggers and three doubles. Brooke Wells smacked her third dinger of the day. Alexis Pupillo and Mari Hubbard went yard as well. All three of these Tide batters went 2 for 2. Lexi finished the game with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Hubbard had 3 RBI and 3 runs. Wells added 2 RBI and 3 runs to her season totals.
